Every single rift disappeared after the initial shockwave, though the monsters still remained, fighting with renewed fury.

"What’s happening?" a dwarf player roared as he swung his hammer to smash through a few enemies, "Is it over already?"

"You’re insane, right? Don’t you know how Monster Tides work?"

"Do tell!"

"The Level 5 Monster Tide lasted around 10 hours, and almost the entirety of the Requiem Stronghold was destroyed as a result, meaning that prepare for the worst, this is only the beginning!"

And indeed, because as that person said that, the vortex above began to spin rapidly and emitting waves of aura that made the air feel heavy and charged with power.

Then without warning, tears in reality began to appear all over the stronghold once more, their edges crackling with dark energy.

And from it, more monsters came, though these ones were simply on a whole other level of power compared to what had come before.

[Midnight Wolf]

[Level: 100]

[Talent: None.]

[Combat Power: 12,800,000]

---

The monsters that came from these rifts all had above 10,000,000 Combat Power, and they began to charge through the wave of players and natives without a single care, their massive forms tearing through the defenses like they were nothing.

Among them were towering [Obsidian Behemoths], their bodies made of jagged black stone that seemed to absorb the light around them, each step they took shaking the ground and sending cracks spiderwebbing through the earth.

There were also [Soul Wraiths], ethereal figures draped in tattered cloaks, their scythes gleaming with an eerie light that seemed to drain the life from everything they touched.

And finally, there were [Crimson Drakes], winged beasts with scales the color of fresh blood, their maws dripping with corrosive venom that sizzled and smoked as it hit the ground.

Their roars echoed across the battlefield like thunder.

They slaughtered most of the players and natives in the front lines, their attacks tearing through the defenders with brutal efficiency.

The Obsidian Behemoths crushed soldiers beneath their massive fists, their stone bodies impervious to most attacks.

The Soul Wraiths swept through the ranks, their scythes cutting down dozens with each swing, their victims collapsing without a sound.

The Crimson Drakes swooped down from above, their claws and venom claiming the lives of those who tried to flee.

At the sight, many players and natives retreated, knowing they stood no chance against such overwhelming power.

As for the truly strong, they didn’t even budge, especially Leon, who simply rushed forward and slaughtered a pack of [Midnight Wolves] with a single swing of his sword, their bodies falling to the ground in a heap.

And the items were dropped were... fascinating, far better than anything he had seen from the regular monsters.

[x9 Midnight Wolf Essence: Consuming will increase Agility by 2,000.]

[x9 Midnight Wolf Fur (Epic): +29,000 Constitution, +27,000 Agility. You gain a slight boost in speed when fighting during the night.]

[x9 Midnight Wolf Boots (Legendary): +35,000 Agility. +15,000 Constitution.]

He managed to enhance two furs and three boots, making them stronger through the enhancement stones he had collected.

[Midnight Wolf Fur +2 (Epic): +34,000 Constitution, +31,000 Agility. You gain a slight boost in speed when fighting during the night.]

[Midnight Wolf Boots +2 (Legendary): +40,000 Agility. +20,000 Constitution.]

Both of these items were better than the [Pyroman Ape Fur +4 (Rare)] and [Void Boots (Ancient)] that Leon was wearing, so he quickly threw them away to wear the new ones, feeling the increased speed and durability immediately.

As for the rest, he quickly rushed to Celeste, Emilia and Violet’s side, all of whom were very easy to find thanks to the [World Map] and the sheer chaos they were causing, to give each of them a pair of the new equipment, ensuring they were also benefiting from the spoils of battle.

"Haha!" Violet laughed, her eyes wide with amusement, "While everyone is fighting to the death, you still find the time to sort through your items?"

"Not that difficult right now," Leon shrugged, his voice calm and collected, "Even if the monsters tried, they wouldn’t be able to kill me."

"Well, be careful," Violet spoke, her expression growing serious, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Leon nodded, because he actually agreed, even though the monsters got much stronger, it still wasn’t enough to truly threaten them.

No... there must be something else, something terrible is coming, something that would explain the guild’s caution.

"Thanks," Emilia beamed as she equipped the boots and fur around her neck, feeling herself become much faster and more agile.

"Agility is the only advantage I have in close combat, so I appreciate it," Celeste winked as Pyra circled around her, sharing her power and warmth.

After dodging another attack from a monster, Leon killed it with a casual backhand and looked at the vortex above, still swirling with intense power that seemed to be building toward something.

Another 30 minutes passed like this, with the players slowly overtaking the monsters once more due to a few amount of players who could still overwhelm them with their superior strength and numbers.

And then, at that very moment, one of the two things that made this Monster Tide so difficult appeared, changing the nature of the battle entirely.

Because as the vortex began to charge with aura, a few panels appeared before everyone fighting, glowing with an ominous golden light.

Ding!

[The gods are watching with interest.]

[They have each sent three of their envoys to the battlefield to judge your power.]

[Good luck.]

BOOM! BOOM!

Massive explosions erupted, the sound of them deafening, and from the massive vortex above, hundreds of figures appeared, all looking down at the people below with cold, indifferent eyes.

"Here they are," Cavin said with a grin, his knuckles crackling with aura as he prepared for the real fight, "Let’s just hope the Stronghold can remain standing."

As for Leon, he simply looked at the figures above with pure hatred in his eyes, his grip on his weapons tightening until his knuckles turned white.

’Servants of the gods in here, and the gods are all watching,’ he thought deeply, a dark expression on his face, the aura around his sword and staff growing more intense with each passing second, ’I see.’
