Leon knew that if he were to fight one of the Kings by himself, Celestial Might would definitely trigger, reducing their stats by 30%, in fact, if he did it only with the girls, it would too, making the fight far more manageable.

But it was the presence of the Requiem Guild that made things different, their overwhelming power preventing Leon’s passive from activating.

After all, if he removed 30% of the stats of a monster like the Void King, it would only have a little above 16 million combat power, a significant drop that would make it far less threatening.

It would lose a third of its stats, meaning though it would still be a challenge, any member of the Requiem Guild might be able to win against it.

Basicaly, the battle wouldn’t be "fair".

Cavin was currently facing the Crystal King, Shard, as well as its army of monsters, his fists crackling with energy as he prepared to strike, while Empress fought against the Gorilla King, her spear gleaming with silver light.

To be honest, Leon didn’t care much about the Crystal king or the Gorilla King, instead his eyes darted toward the others.

For example, the Flame and Ice King actually seemed incredibly interesting due to his dual elemental nature.

Both of the elemental sub-talents he had, as well as the possible items, would likely be extremely useful for him and his companions.

Especially for someone like Celeste who fought using fire, and Violet, who had recently been using ice with her frost rapier and ice affinity.

In fact, among the five kings, Leon was only aiming for three of them: the Fire and Ice King, the Serpent King, and the Void King, each one offering unique rewards.

He couldn’t be enthusiastic enough to get all three of them, considering the fact the Requiem Guild was there and would likely claim the kills themselves, but he had to try.

’I need at least one or two,’ Leon thought, his mind already planning his approach.

While Cavin and Empress were forced on their respective kings, the remaining 18 members were divided into three groups.

Four took on the Serpent King, Four fought the Ice and Flame King, and finally, the remaining ten were facing the Void King, each group working together to bring down their target.

’I have to think,’ Leon thought, ’And quick.’

He turned his gaze toward the oni leader, just to see what he was doing.

And seeing him fight, Leon understood just how strong he truly was.

Cavin currently faced the Crystal King alone, his fists already raised, crackling with energy.

The massive beast swung its crystalline arm, and shards of jagged ice shot toward him like arrows.

But the oni didn’t dodge. He simply punched through them, his fist shattering each shard as they came, the fragments scattering across the battlefield.

The Crystal King roared and stomped the ground. Pillars of crystal erupted from beneath Cavin’s feet, jagged and deadly.

He leaped over them, landing directly in front of the beast’s chest, and drove his fist into the crystal. Cracks spread across its surface like a spiderweb.

The King swung its other arm, but Cavin ducked under it and hit the same spot again. The cracks widened. The beast stumbled back, trying to create distance, but Cavin followed, his fists moving faster and faster.

The Crystal King was a monster with over 20,000,000 Combat Power, something that could overwhelm pretty much anybody.

Even Iris, the queen of the Imperial Kingdom, who have to use her strongest spell against it, and likely still fail.

And yet, in a few minutes only, with a final, powerful punch, Cavin’s fist sank deep into the beast’s core.

The Crystal King exploded into a thousand glittering shards, its body collapsing to the ground in a heap of broken crystal.

The monsters surrounding the King charged at Cavin, but he didn’t stop. He spun around, his fists swinging in wide arcs, each punch sending a monster flying, their bodies shattering on impact.

"Holy hell."

Seeing that, Leon then turned his gaze toward the co-leader of the guild, Empress, aiming to observe her a little more as well.

She faced the Gorilla King by herself too, her spear glinting in the dim light.

The massive beast beat its chest and lunged at her, its fists aimed to crush her into the ground.

She sidestepped and drove her spear into its shoulder, instantly making a wave of crystals appear all over it, but the beast barely flinched.

’If I ever fight her, I need to avoid ANY hit, or I’m done,’ Leon noted for later, ’Being able to infect whatever she hits is overpowered.’

The Gorilla King swiped at her, forcing her back, then stomped the ground, sending shockwaves rippling toward her.

She leaped over them, spinning in midair, and thrust her spear toward its chest.

The beast caught the shaft with its massive hand, trying to pull her closer, but she twisted the spear, and silver crystals erupted from the point of impact, creeping up the beast’s arm.

The Gorilla King roared and slammed its arm against the ground to break the crystals, shattering them.

But Empress was already moving, dashing toward its legs.

She swept her spear across its ankle, and silver crystals spread from the wound, crawling up its leg.

The beast stumbled, its balance breaking, and she leaped onto its back, driving her spear deep into its spine.

Silver crystals exploded outward, covering the beast’s entire body.

With a final, cracking sound, the Gorilla King crumbled into a pile of silver scales, its massive form reduced to glittering dust.

The horde of monsters that had surrounded them charged, but she raised her spear and silver crystals erupted from the ground, impaling dozens of them in an instant.

As the two leaders eliminated their respective kings in only a few minutes, the rifts from which the kings came from, as well as the smaller ones linked to them, all closed, the flow of monsters from those dungeons ceasing completely.

"Damn it," Leon mumbled as he saw the two leaders finish their fights so quickly, "This is bad, we need to act now even if we have to intervene with the Requiem Guild."

Leon hadn’t wanted that at all, staying back seemed to be the most optimal solution to avoid conflict, but missing out on these items wasn’t good either for his future plans.

The only thing that strangely made him comfortable was the fact that instead of going to immediately eliminate the other kings, Cavin and Empress were focused on killing the rest of the monsters from the rifts, leaving the other kings to their companions.

’They don’t seem to want to help their companions for some reason,’ Leon noticed, watching them, ’I mean, I guess they said they had a plan, and they’re following it, but it’s strange.’

Regardless, this meant it wasn’t completely hopeless, and this time around, Leon didn’t even wait to see what would happen next.

"Lets go," he said with a determined look, and both he, Alphox and the girls rushed forward, toward the Void King, ’I need that thing’s sub-talent at least!’

There was one thing that could really help Leon in this case, something that would allow him to get what he wanted without being the one to actually defeat the Kings.

And that thing was obvious: the contribution mechanic.

’I just need to contribute enough to the kill of the Void King for the system to register it!’ he thought, his eyes gleaming, ’That way, I can get all the items without anyone knowing or for the Requiem Guild to really realize what happened.’
