Chapter 463: Cavin’s Anger, Dealing With the Void King

The more he killed, the less opponents he had, and even if they only used up their Resurrection Stone, it would also make it much easier for him to deal with them in the future when the time came.

But either way, while everyone was in panic, with most of the monsters dealt with except the Void King and the horde of monsters coming from his portal, the situation was far from over.

"You foolish mortals have no idea how much you are outmatched—"

BOOM!

Before the Void King could finish his sentence, a figure blitzed through the air and smashed through its face with a terrifying strength, the impact sending shockwaves across the battlefield and cracking the ground beneath them.

Instantly, the Void King was sent flying back, his body crashing against the ground, his void armor cracking from the force of the blow, dark energy spilling from the wounds.

And the figure that did all of that was none other than Cavin, whose expression was the most furious Leon had ever seen him be, his eyes blazing with rage and his fists crackling with barely contained power.

In fact, something about his demeanor was different, more intense, more dangerous.

"Why..." Cavin shed tears as he landed on the ground, grabbing the corpse of Kairo who was in a horrible state, his lower body gone, while upper half was covered in void energy, "One of our companions is gone..."

Cavin placed him to rest and got up, his tears still flowing, though he gritted his teeth in anger, aura leaking from his eyes like smoke from a fire, his fists trembling with barely contained fury.

"Calm down, Cavin," Empress arrived next to the oni leader, her voice calm but firm, "We need to keep our strength for the next one."

"I know," Cavin clenched his fists, his voice tight with emotion, "But even then..."

Empress simply sighed, a small smile on her face, her eyes softening as she placed a hand on his shoulder, "Well then, make it quick."

And the moment he heard that, Cavin dashed forward, ready to avenge his companion, his fists crackling with energy as he closed the distance with the Void King.

Seeing that from afar, Leon’s expression remained completely neutral, his eyes fixed on the scene unfolding before him, analyzing every detail.

’I guess he does care a lot about his guild members,’ Leon thought, his mind analyzing the situation, ’though more than anything, it means I need to be careful about it in the future.’

Leon would make sure to get rid of all of them, their presence a threat to his plans. But for now, all he could do was observe.

The Void King didn’t remain idle for long, only a second after being hit, he summoned a portal behind him, its edges crackling with dark energy, which allowed him to phase into the void and disappear from sight.

Everyone looked around, not knowing where the Void King would emerge next, their eyes scanning the sky and the ground for any sign of his return, but Cavin simply rushed forward regardless, trusting his instincts.

And before anyone could react, another giant portal appeared right above Cavin, its surface rippling like water, and from it the Void King dropped down with his blade raised, ready to strike.

BOOM!

There was a terrifying explosion as the Void King’s blade hit the ground, sending shockwaves through the earth, and the Nocturne laughed, confident in his victory.1

"Weak..." he mocked, his voice dripping with contempt.

But alas for him, he truly underestimated just how strong Cavin was.

Even among all the beings of the Higher Domains, the oni leader was a force to be reckoned with.

"You killed one of my own," Cavin’s figure appeared below, completely unharmed, his body having moved faster than anyone could track, "You will die for that."

Fwoosh! Bam!

With an aura-filled fist, Cavin slammed it into the Void King’s chin, the impact sending the massive beast flying up into the air, his body spinning from the force of the blow.

Then without even waiting, he continued hitting repeatedly, dozens upon dozens of hits erupting as the Void King’s figure flew all around the place, his body unable to find purchase.

Nocturne crushed hundreds of the monsters coming out of the portal with his massive body, their forms disintegrating on impact, and the Void King couldn’t do anything about it, his attacks completely ineffective.

He tried to swing his Void Blade while in the air, desperate to land a hit, but Cavin crossed his arm as a demonic-like entity appeared behind him, tanking the attack with ease, its form absorbing the blow without flinching.

’Damn!’ Leon thought, his eyes narrowing, ’So he’s able to use soul attacks, his fists hit like an explosion, and he can defend himself with that entity. This is going to be problematic.’

The more Leon discovered about the Requiem Guild’s members, especially Cavin and Empress, the more difficult it became to see a path to victory against them. But at least he knew what to expect in the future, which would help him plan accordingly.

The Void King tried to regain his footing, his body battered and broken from Cavin’s relentless assault, but the oni leader gave him no quarter.

He continued his barrage, each punch landing with devastating force, cracking the Void King’s armor and sending dark energy spilling from his wounds.

The Void King attempted to summon another portal to escape, but Cavin was too fast, grabbing his giant arm and pulling him back despite the size difference.

As a last ditch effort, the Void King opened his face, a void of pure darkness, and began charging a devastating beam attack, the power building within him.

But right as he was about to unleash it, every injury from Cavin, as well as the ones inflicted by Leon himself with Eclipse Annihilation, suddenly took a toll on his body, making him stumble.

That brief moment of weakness was all Cavin needed.

He used another skill: Aura Blade, a blade of aura forming from his arm as his eyes glowed with a green light, and he decapitated the Void King in one clean motion.

The massive beast fell to the ground, crushing even more monsters beneath his weight as his body dissolved into particles of void energy.

Just like that, all of the Kings were gone.

’I hope I get the contribution,’ Leon thought, ’Though... I’m pretty sure I will.’
