Online Game: I Have A 100\% Drop Rate
Chapter 464: Getting the Last Kill, The Calm Before The StormImmediately, the colossal portal from which the Void King came from, as well as the smaller ones which the monsters of his dungeon came from, closed, their edges sealing shut with a final pulse of energy.
Meaning that if they killed all of the remaining monsters, they’d have a decent enough break until the last event of the Level 6 Monster Tide, a brief respite before the final challenge.
On the other hand, Cavin simply dropped to the ground, his expression neutral, his breathing steady despite the exertion.
Then he spoke with a pained expression to some of his guild members while pointing at the wolf beastman’s body, "Grab whatever is left of him for the funeral after this. He deserves a proper send-off."
"Y-Yes, Lord Cavin!" they responded, their voices filled with grief.
Even the requiem guild members were distraught by the death of Kairo, as Leon saw several of them shed tears as well, their faces etched with sorrow. The only one that truly seemed unaffected was Empress, who kept her neutral expression, her eyes cold and distant.
The Requiem Guild was a big family to Cavin, so seeing one of them go was truly sad for him, a loss that cut deep into his heart.
’How strange,’ Leon thought, watching the scene unfold.
This was indeed a strange sight to Leon, because every time he fought an opponent with underlings before, they never seemed to care about them at all, treating them as disposable tools. This was the first time one of his enemies actually cried for his companions, showing genuine emotion.
Still, that didn’t even change what Leon would do in the future, not even for an instant. His resolve remained firm.
After all, he remembered the threats, the coercion, the way they had tried to control him.
’You still threatened me and the girls,’ he thought with a dark expression, his eyes narrowing, ’And I’ll make you regret that when the time comes.’
"Did anyone get the contribution of the kill?" Cavin asked, his voice steady, "I did, but who else?"
No one seemed to move forward at that moment, their faces blank with confusion.
Since none of them had actually done anything that resulted in the Void King’s defeat, the system didn’t consider anyone but Cavin worthy of the kill, the contribution system marking him as the primary contributor.
Well... except Leon that is.
Ding!

A wide smile appeared on Leon’s face at that moment, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
’I actually did it!’ he thought, his heart racing with excitement.
He managed to obtain the kills of all the kings he had wanted, meaning that all of their items sat in his inventory, ready for him to check them out when he had a moment of peace.
At the same time, the Requiem Guild moved to eliminate the remaining monsters, making sure to eliminate those that had attempted to breach the stronghold’s walls, as well as the remaining ones that had come out of the portals.
Their coordinated attacks carved through the horde with brutal efficiency.
They were making quick work of them, their blades and spells cutting down the creatures in waves, and in a matter of minutes, several thousands monsters turned into only a few hundred, their bodies littering the battlefield.
Seeing that, Cavin and Empress backed away, allowing their companions to finish the job, their presence no longer needed as the tide of battle had turned decisively in their favor.
"Nothing will happen for a while, until the last hour, where the main event occurs," she spoke while standing beside Cavin, her voice calm and measured, "Resting would be optimal for what’s coming."
"...Right," Cavin groaned, his expression darkening as he looked around, "We’ll have to instruct the people on the walls for what to expect and..." he looked up, his eyes narrowing, "Perhaps try to get rid of them."
The servants of the gods that could fly still remained idly above the area where they fought, still waiting for something, their forms motionless and their gazes fixed on the battlefield below.
[God Servants Remaining: 56.]
They hadn’t even fought or tried anything when the kings had appeared, even though it would have been a great way to kill several players and weaken the stronghold’s defenses.
Which, in Leon’s mind, meant there was a much better opportunity coming for them to do whatever they wanted, something far more significant than what had already passed.
He could also sense that the killing intent of those servants was no joke, their bloodlust palpable even from a distance, and the more time passed, the less they cared about letting it flow freely.
Cavin had obviously sensed it too, the pressure of their gazes mainly aimed at him, but he didn’t seem to react at all, mostly focused on the present and the tasks at hand.
After all, he already seemed to know what that last "event" was, so he didn’t care at all what anybody else did, his confidence unwavering.
"The stronghold probably won’t hold for that last part," Empress spoke, her voice low, "Do we still...?"
"Yes," Cavin replied once more, his voice firm, "It doesn’t matter, we’ll be moving to the Eternal Battlefield soon anyway, might as well salvage as much as we can, and if it becomes too much... then can’t say we didn’t try."
"Alright," Empress nodded, accepting his decision.
While the requiem guild members were moving to prepare for what was to come, organizing their defenses and checking their equipment, Leon returned to the girls’ side, his footsteps light as he approached.
Emilia, Celeste and Violet seemed perfectly fine, none of them had any injury and they even seemed satisfied with their performance, their faces bright with the thrill of battle.
Many of Leon’s undead skeletons had died, their bodies crumbling to dust as they fell, but to his surprise, around half of them still remained, standing firm despite the relentless assault.
’The Undead Berserkers are incredible,’ Leon thought, impressed by their durability, ’they can tank for this long and do a lot of damage without breaking.’
This made Leon excited about what the next type of undead he would unlock once he evolved his sub-talent again, the possibilities expanding with each new evolution.
"Did you see that beam I launched that went through dozens of them?!" Emilia beamed as she spoke to the others, excited, her eyes wide with exhilaration.
"Well, that was mainly because I made it hard for them to reach us," Violet coughed, though she smiled, a hint of pride in her voice.
"You can thank Pyra for sensing that underground monster, or we’d all be dead!" Celeste added, patting her phoenix companion’s head.
It seemed like they were getting along, their camaraderie growing stronger with each battle they fought together, so Leon appreciated it.
But now that everything seemed to be done, and the battlefield had fallen into a temporary calm, he could finally check the items he got from the three kings.
His fingers tingled with anticipation as he opened his storage space, ready to examine his rewards.
