Only I Can Use Every Power System

Chapter 43: Cha.43 The Royal Castle

Upon entering the capital for the second time, Qasim was still amazed by its beauty.

The sight alone helped calm his nerves.

From far away, the castle shone like a giant golden monument. And as they got closer, it only seemed to grow larger.

The guards stood at their positions, completely still.

Qasim found them strangely similar to a certain type of guard he had seen back on Earth.

After entering the castle, however, the boy couldn’t help but look around in disbelief.

Everything seemed to shine.

The walls, the decorations, even the floor carried that beautiful golden color.

It had both the beauty and dignity one would expect from the castle of the king.

A few servants eventually guided them toward the visitors’ section.

As soon as Qasim entered, he noticed several people already waiting.

Some new faces.

But a particular person looked familiar.

His eyes landed on a short woman with crimson hair and eyes.

"Teacher Aurora."

The woman turned toward him.

Her face immediately brightened.

"Well well well, if it isn’t the boy of the hour."

She smiled.

"I heard what you did during the academy incident. And being called ’teacher’ by you surely makes me blush! Stoooop~"

Qasim laughed.

Aurora then looked toward Valen.

"Oh, you’re here too..."

Her expression immediately became less enthusiastic.

"Meh."

"Oh, that hurts my feelings, Granny Aurora."

"Ohhh! You did not just say that!"

Qasim laughed as Aurora’s face turned red with anger.

Then he felt several eyes on him.

He turned his head.

An old man was staring at him.

He had a large nose, short white hair, and one blind eye. Despite his old appearance, there was something intimidating about him.

A powerful aura surrounded him.

*Is this... magic?*

Five people standing beside the old man were also looking at Qasim.

Their eyes weren’t curious.

They were filled with mockery and contempt.

Before Qasim could stare any longer, Valen placed a hand on his shoulder and gently guided him away.

"Alright, Aurora. Nice talking to you, but I need to introduce the boy to Team One."

Valen led Qasim toward another group.

And the moment Qasim saw them...

His heart nearly stopped.

"This... this... this is!"

Standing in front of him were several beautiful humanoid women.

They looked almost human.

But their ears were longer, their hair carried a naturally beautiful green color, and their clothing was light enough to reveal the elegant curves of their bodies.

Their skin was incredibly smooth, and their large green eyes were framed by long eyelashes.

Qasim’s eyes widened.

"ELVES!"

He couldn’t contain himself.

*I finally get to meet elves!*

He stared at them with far too much excitement.

"Ahem."

Valen coughed.

"Excuse my little boy’s rudeness, ladies. He’s just a kid."

One of the elves looked annoyed.

"Then you better teach him some manners. Or are you planning to let him act like an anim—"

Before she could finish, Qasim suddenly moved.

He placed a hand over his chest, closed his eyes, and bowed respectfully.

"Please excuse my shameful behavior. I was simply lost for words in front of your beauty. Please accept my deepest apology."

The elf froze.

She looked toward Valen.

Valen was equally shocked.

But he quickly played along, straightening himself and giving the elves a gentlemanly expression.

Qasim noticed their reactions.

*It worked.*

He couldn’t help but feel satisfied.

A soft laugh came from among the elves.

"Please raise your head, human boy."

Qasim did so.

One of the elves was looking directly at him.

"I am Aluna, the leader of Team One. It is my pleasure to meet you."

She slightly lowered her head.

Qasim returned the gesture.

"The honor is mine, my lady."

"How have you been, Aluna?" Valen asked.

Aluna smiled.

"Oh, you’ve grown so much. I remember when you were just the shy boy Nasun adopted."

"What can I say? Time passes faster for us humans."

They both laughed.

After a brief conversation, Valen excused himself and returned toward the center with Qasim.

"Who is Nasun?" Qasim asked.

Valen answered simply.

"The leader of the previous Team Four."

He paused.

"He was like a teacher to me."

Qasim remembered Valen mentioning that they were the new Team Four.

Back then, he remembered Valen sounding cheerful when talking about it.

But now that he knew Valen better...

He noticed the slight hesitation in his voice.

His tone had also become lower and slower.

*Nasun must have been important to him.*

A few moments later, the old man and his team approached them.

He looked at Qasim with a pitiful expression.

Not sympathy.

The kind of look someone gave when they thought they were standing above another person.

He then looked toward Valen.

"What? You won’t introduce us to your new member?"

He smiled revealing his yellow teeth.

"That’s not what friends do, Valen."

"Yeah, I know."

Valen smiled back.

"That’s the point."

"Oww... I see. You still have that sharp tongue of yours."

The old man licked his lips.

"I wonder when I’ll finally be able to cut it."

"Well, to be honest, I spend most of my time in my base. So if you want to pay me a visit..."

"You know where to find me. And don’t worry. I’ll show you great hospitality."

Qasim felt the tension between them rising.

He wanted to say something.

But the old man suddenly turned toward him.

"I heard you’re a special boy~"

He stepped closer.

"That’s good~ I hope you’ll be as special as our Valen here."

His eyes narrowed.

"I suppose he didn’t tell you about the previous Team Four..."

He reached toward Qasim.

"If you want this grandpa to tell you an interesting story—"

Valen caught his hand.

"I guess you need to take your meds grandpa."

Valen narrowed his eyes.

"And stop drinking too, Yorness."

Yorness stared at him for several seconds.

Then slowly pulled his hand away.

"We’ll talk more after the main event, boy~"

He turned and returned to his corner with his team.

Valen watched him leave.

Then he looked at Qasim.

"Well, I guess you now know who Team Three is."

He paused.

"And if you haven’t realized it yet..."

"They hate us."

"And we hate them too."

A few minutes later, the doors opened.

A servant dressed in black and white stepped into the room.

His eyes remained closed as he walked forward.

He raised his hand.

"His Majesty is now calling to meet with you."

The room fell silent.

The main event had begun.
