Only I Can Use Every Power System

Chapter 67: Cha.67 Saving A Friend (4)

"Go to this place. You can find your friend there."

The old lady handed Qasim and Yasmin a piece of paper with the location of what they believed was the kidnappers’ base.

They immediately rushed toward the location.

When they arrived, they noticed that it was in one of the poorer streets on the edge of the city. As they looked around, they noticed a gigantic sewer entrance.

Yasmin looked at it carefully.

"Kidnappers usually hide their bases underground. We should go inside and investigate."

Having no better solution, Qasim agreed.

The two entered the disgusting tunnel.

Despite the horrible smell, they continued walking for some time until they suddenly heard something.

Footsteps.

Qasim and Yasmin immediately took formation, ready for the worst.

But they soon stopped when they saw several children crawling out of the darkness.

The children saw them and immediately stopped.

Fear was clearly visible on their tired faces.

Then one of them stepped forward.

"Qasim!"

Melissa called out her friend’s name.

"Melissa! Thank God you’re okay!"

The two children hugged each other tightly, happy to see one another again.

Qasim quickly looked over Melissa, his expression filled with worry.

"Are you hurt anywhere?"

He had noticed that some of the other children were injured.

"No... He didn’t do anything to me."

"He? The kidnapper, right?"

Qasim looked around the tunnel.

"Come on. Let’s leave this place first. You need to get some rest."

The children left the sewer with Qasim and Yasmin and were immediately helped by the police.

Qasim ordered the officers to take it easy on the children since they looked both physically and mentally exhausted.

Fortunately, all of them were safely transported to the hospital to receive treatment.

Meanwhile, Qasim and Yasmin returned to the tunnels and continued investigating.

But they found nothing.

There was no hidden room, no evidence, and no trace of the kidnappers.

It was as if the children had never been kidnapped there in the first place.

The tunnel simply ended at a dead end.

Qasim and Yasmin discussed the possibility that the kidnappers had abandoned their base after completely hiding their tracks.

But their behavior was strange.

They had kidnapped several children from wealthy families, yet they never asked for money.

Instead, they forced the children to experience horrible events that left them traumatized, then simply released them before disappearing.

After they couldn’t find any more evidence, Qasim and Yasmin returned to the hospital.

"Did you find them, Qasim?"

Melissa, who was lying on a white hospital bed, asked tiredly.

Qasim simply shook his head.

"They already hid their tracks and probably left."

At that moment, a police officer entered the room and handed Qasim a piece of paper.

Qasim read it.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"Melissa, your mother is okay. She wasn’t attacked, and she’s coming here as soon as she receives my message."

"I see... Did they steal something from my house?"

"Yes. The copies of the camera blueprints are actually gone."

"I see..."

"Hey, Melissa."

Qasim smiled.

"I’m glad you’re fine. Those copies can be made again. But there’s only one Melissa, right?"

"Haha... Since when did you become such a good talker?"

Melissa finally smiled warmly, just like she used to.

After some time, her mother arrived to visit her.

Qasim gave them some privacy. He thanked Yasmin for her help before returning to the base.

...

One week passed after the incident.

Melissa was now fine, and she had been visited by some of her friends, including Kevin.

Some of the other children had managed to recover the body parts they had lost through supernatural means, while others were simply happy to be alive in the first place.

However, something continued to bother Qasim.

They knew very little about the whole situation.

Who were those kidnappers?

Were they related to the scientists?

Why did they do what they did?

There were too many questions, but very few answers.

Asking the children didn’t help much either.

They had all experienced almost the same thing.

They were kidnapped, then a strange Fox Beastkin gave them a deal.

Some of them were given completely crazy deals.

For example, the fox would ask someone to give up their left eye in exchange for their freedom.

Others were asked to give up different body parts.

Meanwhile, some of the rarer cases only required them to provide information or something physical instead of a body part.

They also talked about the maze and the strange, creepy room filled with mindless humans.

But there was one thing every child agreed on.

They were terrified of the Fox Beastkin.

"Just wait until I get my hands on that fox."

Qasim clenched his fists.

"Yeah, me too. How dare he hurt our friend?"

Kevin agreed.

The two boys walked through the streets toward their destination.

Soon, they arrived in front of Melissa’s house.

Why were they there?

Because today was a big day.

For almost a month, the whole kingdom had been in a tense situation because of the war.

It was a sudden war that the Goblins and Beastkin had declared against the humans.

Yet, surprisingly, the humans were holding their ground against all odds, thanks to their army.

To prevent the public from becoming frustrated and exhausted by the war, some people suggested that the king organize a festival to improve public morale.

Unfortunately, the king only agreed to hold it in one of the middle-ranked cities.

And, by pure luck, Team Four’s city had been chosen.

Cyres City.

Now, everyone was preparing for the festival.

People from other cities would also come to participate, giving Cyres City a major boost in both popularity and economy.

The two boys were wearing handsome clothes.

After some time, Melissa joined them, wearing a beautiful dress.

She looked at the two boys with a smile.

"You boys ready?"
