"Well, that was entertaining."
The Savior leaned back with a satisfied smile.
"So, for the next game, I need you to separate for a moment."
He pointed toward the four members of Team Four.
"You will each get to choose from three options: first, leave right now. Second, sacrifice yourself. Third, keep playing."
He raises a finger.
"If all four of you choose the leave option, you will all leave right now, but each of you will lose one arm."
He raises a second finger.
"If three of you choose to leave and one chooses to keep playing, all of you will keep playing, but the three who chose to leave will each lose an eye."
He then raises a third finger.
"If three of you choose to leave and one chooses to sacrifice themselves, the three who chose to leave can walk away without losing any part of their bodies, while the one who chose to sacrifice themselves will continue playing."
He then closes his fist and put it under his chin.
"Any other combination will result in all of you continuing to play. The only difference is whether you lose parts of your bodies or not."
He smiled showing off his teeth "Now, go choose."
The lion handed each of them a nail and a piece of paper.
"Write your answers in your blood." The fox narrowed his eyes before the lion led them to separate rooms.
Although they couldn’t speak with each other, the four members of Team Four could still see one another from a distance.
For Doran, the choice was obvious, he looked at his missing arm without fear.
*I already lost one. I don’t care if I lose the other.*
Valen was certain that this was what Doran was thinking.
As for himself, Valen still had many things to do in this world. Losing an arm wasn’t a big deal. He could always build a new one.
For himself and for the team, the real question was whether the other two would also choose to leave.
After all, if they all chose to keep playing, they would have a chance to leave without losing anything, but they didn’t know what the last game would be.
It was nothing more than a huge gamble.
"I trust them to choose the most logical solution..."
After some time, they returned.
The lion collected their answers and handed them to the Savior.
A huge smile appeared on the ugly face of the beastkin.
"The crippled chose to leave..."
"The blond chose to leave..."
"The skinny human chose to leave..."
He paused, then he licked his lips.
"And... the short human chose to sacrifice himself."
Valen’s eyes widened and immediately looked at Qasim.
The boy had a strange fiery look in his eyes, almost as if he had just accomplished something heroic.
"Don’t worry, Valen. I—"
Qasim was cut short, as a slap landed across his face.
Valen, his face red with anger, had struck him.
Qasim looked at him in confusion, as if he couldn’t understand what he had done wrong.
"You idiot! Why did you do that?!"
"B-But this way, you all can leave without—"
"Who said we can leave just like that?!"
Valen’s voice grew louder.
"You think you’re some sort of hero? You think you can definitely win the last game even though you don’t even know what it’s about?"
"Wake up to reality, Qasim! This is real life!"
"We could have chosen a guaranteed chance of living! We could heal ourselves, become stronger, and rebuild ourselves!"
"But you threw all of that away just to chase your fragile ego and some fantasy about solo revenge?!"
Qasim’s eyes widened as he listened to Valen’s harsh words.
He had never seen Valen this angry before, he had never spoken to him like this.
*Does my captain not believe in me?*
*Does he think I’m going to die?*
"Bullshit!" Qasim clenched his fists.
"I just saved you all! It’s not just about Melissa it’s about saving you all! And soon, I will leave safely too!"
Valen took a step back, staring at the boy in shock, then he turned toward the Savior.
"We’re retaking that test."
"Watch your tone, human. Are you trying to order me now?"
The Savior licked his lips with excitement.
"Besides... what has been decided shall not be retaken." He pointed toward the three members of Team Four.
"You three leave right now."
His finger then moved toward Qasim "The short one stays here."
The lion stepped forward and stood in front of Valen, looking at him coldly.
Valen ignored him and tried to negotiate for a better solution, meanwhile Qasim was still confused and somewhat angry from Valen’s reaction. He looked toward the other two, hoping they would support him.
Instead, he was met with disappointment from Yasmin and sadness from Doran.
"That’s not how things are done, boy..." Doran said, lowering his head.
Yasmin remained silent.
Before Qasim could argue, he heard something hit the ground.
He turned around and saw Valen had been knocked unconscious by the lion.
"Take this human with you when you leave."
The lion looked coldly at Yasmin and Doran.
Yasmin stepped forward and lifted the unconscious Valen, she began making her way out, but stopped beside Qasim.
She leaned closer and whispered.
"Good luck... Please come back safely."
Then she and Doran continued walking, leaving Qasim behind.
Qasim watched them from behind, still hurt by their reaction *I did the best option, didn’t I? Besides...*
He turned toward the Savior, his eyes becoming cold.
"I am the main character in this world, and I’ll beat the shit out of this fox."
"Ah, congratulations, short human." The Savior smiled.
"You will have the honor of playing the third game."
"It’s actually a popular game back in the Beastkin Kingdom."
He pointed toward a chair.
"Lion, bring a table."
Qasim was now sitting in front of the fox.
A table stood between them.
On top of it was a long wooden object, dull on one side sharp on the other, was placed on top.
12:05 AM
"The rules are simple."
The Savior pointed toward the wooden object.
"We take turns spinning it. Depending on which side points toward the other person, we either ask a question or give them an action."
"For example, let’s say it’s your turn. You spin it, and the sharp side points toward me."
"That means you can ask me to perform an action."
"If the dull side points toward me, you can ask me a question."
"If I answer your question or complete whatever action you give me, I get one point, and we switch turns."
"Whoever reaches five points first wins."
"If I fail to answer your question or complete your action, I get no points, and you receive a shield that protects you from one of my questions or actions and gets you a point."
"And to be clear, you cannot repeat a question that has already been asked by either of us."
"Additionally, my follower here will determine whether you are lying when you answer a question just from your smell.
A new person entered the room, he was a beastkin who looked like a dog.
He stood beside the table without saying a word.
"And if he determines that you are lying, you lose a point."
The Savior smiled.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes."
Qasim answered coldly.
"Good. You can start."
Qasim spun the wooden object.
To his luck, the sharp side pointed toward the Savior.
The boy leaned forward.
"Kill yourself."
The Savior smiled at the request.
"I can’t."
With that, Qasim had earned a shield. He now had the right to refuse one question or action from the Savior.
As long as he got lucky and landed on the dull side often enough, he could potentially win the game easily.
The Savior then spun the object, and to Qasim’s luck, it landed on the dull side.
"Tell me, human. Why do you have this disgusting-looking life energy?"
Qasim stopped for a moment to think.
He looked toward the dog beastkin before answering.
"I don’t know."
The Savior looked at the dog beastkin for any reaction but he remained silent.
"I see..."
Qasim had gotten off to a great start, he had one point and one shield.
He spun the object again.
Dull.
"Tell me your real name."
"A worthless human doesn’t deserve to know." The Savior still had zero points.
He spun the object again.
Dull.
"What were you doing at Exit Number Five with that other human? Back before my Hour of Joy."
"I was looking for my friend, who you kidnapped..."
"Oh? Did that human die?" The Savior smiled.
"I bet she did."
*He know about Melissa!*
Qasim felt anger rising inside him, but he forced himself to calm down and focused on spinning the object.
Dull.
"Who are you? And answer clearly from the start."
"Oh, I was just a normal beastkin a couple of years ago. I lived as a slave to you humans until one day I freed myself."
He smiled. "Now I am on a mission to become the Savior of all beastkin..."
"And to finish the kingdom order."
Qasim raised his eyebrow.
"What order?"
"Aaaa... It’s not your turn. Careful."
The Savior then spun the object.
Sharp.
He looked at Qasim with a sinister smile.
"Pop out your left eye."
