Lion immediately prioritized the biggest threat in the group—the cold girl with long black hair.

Yasmin dove into her black cloud, attempting to dodge his attack. Fortunately, Lion’s first arm struck nothing but air. However, he quickly used his other arms to sweep through the entire cloud, successfully hitting Yasmin in the process.

Then, a strange smell entered his nose.

Lion noticed Valen pulling something from his pocket and immediately took a defensive stance. But before he could react, a beam of light struck him from the side.

Qasim.

Lion adapted instantly. He used two of his arms to defend against Qasim’s attack while the other two reached toward Valen, who still hadn’t revealed what he was preparing.

As Lion’s left head remained focused on Qasim, he noticed the boy preparing another magic spell.

He roared.

The sound wave struck Qasim directly, forcing him down onto one knee.

Meanwhile, Valen finally threw something black onto the ground.

A white smoke began emerging from it.

"Haha! That activity room somehow has more interesting things than my own lab!"

Lion immediately recognized the white smoke as some sort of sedative.

I thought these things weren’t working anymore. And even if he somehow fixed it, wouldn’t it affect them as well? Does he really think he can resist the sedative better than me?

Lion then noticed Yasmin getting back to her feet. His right head immediately turned toward her.

Actually... Valen should be the top priority.

With a powerful roar, Lion made Yasmin dizzy before rushing toward Valen.

But from the side, another beam of light came flying toward him.

The boy is already back on his feet?

Lion blocked the attack with two hands while using the other two to reach for Valen’s head.

But suddenly, Valen’s eyes turned completely white.

Lion stopped his attack and quickly backed away, analyzing him.

"Being too careful isn’t always a good thing, you know?" Valen said with a smile.

Lion listened to him and immediately realized he’d been tricked.

At that exact moment, Qasim attacked him from the side with his powerful fire-and-electricity spell.

Lion defended against it, but his eyes widened when he saw Valen moving toward Yasmin and placing his hand close to her.

A Supporter, probably.

Lion tried to jump toward them, but Qasim suddenly appeared in front of him, forcing him to defend against another attack.

Unfortunately for Qasim, Lion had already seen him coming.

He dodged the attack while his arms immediately moved to catch the boy in midair.

"If you want to die first, then I’ll make your wish come true!"

As Lion closed in on him, Qasim suddenly used wind magic to force himself higher into the air.

Lion didn’t seem bothered.

He simply jumped after him and brought two of his arms down, attempting to crush the boy.

But to his complete surprise, the human boy was far stronger than he had expected.

His body is almost as tough as an adult beastkin...

Lion immediately used another arm to overpower Qasim.

Then came his second surprise.

A knife flew straight toward his face.

Lion managed to dodge it, but that gave Qasim the opportunity to escape using Light Dash.

Lion noticed that Valen was still doing something to Yasmin.

Enough playing around.

He increased his speed and immediately appeared beside them, attacking with all four arms from both sides.

At that exact moment, Valen’s eyes returned to normal.

But neither he nor Yasmin was fast enough to completely dodge Lion’s attack.

A powerful impact echoed through the entire passage.

A cloud of dust exploded into the air, followed by the sight of blood floating through it.

"Valen!"

Qasim shouted, terrified that they had been injured.

But as the dust finally began to settle, he saw Yasmin standing between Lion and Valen.

She was holding a knife in each hand, using them to block Lion’s four arms.

Blood dripped from his arms where the blades had cut him.

"Nic—"

Before Qasim could celebrate, Lion suddenly kicked both of them.

The force sent them flying.

Valen coughed up blood as he hit the ground.

Qasim immediately rushed toward him, relieved to see that he was still breathing.

Yasmin, however, had already gotten back on her feet.

She hadn’t suffered any serious injuries.

Instead, she was staring at Lion with an intense killing aura surrounding her.

He boosted her somehow... Good job, Valen.

Qasim watched Yasmin before she entered the fight again.

Lion seemed more focused than ever.

Qasim’s eyes could barely follow their movements. The two of them were moving so quickly that it looked as though they were teleporting around the passage.

But that didn’t stop Qasim from using his magic.

He began creating earth pillars throughout the passage.

He knew Yasmin’s movements well. They had fought together in countless battles, and he knew she was much more comfortable fighting in confined spaces.

Lion, on the other hand, was at a disadvantage.

His large body made it difficult for him to move freely.

From the beginning, fighting them in here was a huge mistake.

Qasim watched as Yasmin managed to fight Lion toe-to-toe.

Then he heard a voice from below.

"He is so done for. Haha..."

It was Valen.

He was smiling as he continued.

"Remember the academy incident, my boy? That taught me how to use my power faster. And the dungeon mission made it clear to me that damage over time can be much more dangerous than brute force."

"Huh?"

"What I mean is that I boosted her speed, control, and durability."

Valen’s smile grew wider.

"But that’s not all."

He raised one finger.

"I coated her blades with a poison."

Qasim’s eyes widened.

"Actually, it’s an acid that stops bleeding. I carried it with me during this mission because I was afraid one of you might get injured."

Valen chuckled.

"But I changed its properties and turned it into a poison instead."

He proudly puffed out his chest.

"Haha! I’m a genius!"

Qasim stared at him in disbelief before looking back at the battle.

He noticed that Lion’s movements were slowly becoming slower.

A-Amazing...

Qasim’s face turned into a huge smile.

We can actually beat him.

But everything changed when an angry roar erupted from both of Lion’s heads.

"Agh! Can he use that attack over and over without any restrictions?" Valen complained.

Qasim couldn’t answer.

His jaw dropped as he watched Lion slowly regain his momentum.

This is bad...

"I have to help her!"

Qasim prepared to cast a defensive spell around Yasmin.

But before he could do anything, Yasmin’s body came flying toward him.

Both of them crashed into the wall.

Blood escaped from their mouths.

"Nasty... disgusting humans..."

Lion slowly approached them.

His eyes glowed in the dim light of the tunnel as he walked forward, looking like a predator finally watching its prey collapse.

But then—

All four of his eyes suddenly widened.

Lion began coughing violently.

He dropped to one knee.

"What the fuck...?"

His voice was filled with confusion as his body slowly returned to its normal form.

"The sedative," Valen said, breathing heavily. He was still exhausted from his injuries. "It’s finally kicking in... along with the poison."

Lion looked at him, anger practically flying from his eyes.

"How come you aren’t affected?"

Valen simply smiled and gave him a wink.

"Changed its properties so it wouldn’t affect us~."

"You filthy huma—"

Lion couldn’t finish his sentence.

His body collapsed onto the ground unconscious.
