The fox suddenly burst into laughter.
"Haha! What’s the matter? Your brain hasn’t evolved yet?"
Levia, who was closest to Qasim, quickly cast a spell, trapping him between pillars of earth so he couldn’t move.
"What are you doing, Qasim?!" she shouted, confused but already convinced that something abnormal had happened to him.
"I don’t know! My body is moving on its own!"
He replied, but at that moment, the fox started laughing again.
"Oh, you poor little disgusting thing. Even though this is the first time we’ve met, you’re already this fragile? Haha! What a lucky day!"
The moment he finished his sentence, he appeared in front of Yasmin and kicked her aside before punching Doran in the stomach, causing both of them to cough up blood.
He then appeared in front of Levia, who was caught off guard by a powerful slap.
From the corner of his golden eye, the fox saw Yasmin getting back on her feet. He approached her again and launched another kick.
But to his surprise, the human girl managed to dodge his attack and launched a wave of slashes at him, attacking everywhere from his head down to his toes.
She was moving so fast that he couldn’t even see her movements.
*What an annoying human, mimicking the power of a beastkin.*
The Savior was pushed back by her attacks.
Then, from behind, he felt something sharp pierce through his back.
It was Doran, who had used Light Dash to attack him with a sharp pillar of light.
For the first time, the fox was bleeding heavily.
Yet he still maintained a calm expression, only slightly annoyed by the constant attacks.
But soon, he felt something changing inside his body.
*Did I get poisoned?*
He raised an eyebrow as pain spread through his body.
Then he noticed something else.
A rising heat was building nearby.
The moment he turned his head, he saw Levia casting a huge fireball.
Doran quickly pinned the fox down from behind, while Yasmin followed up by pinning him from the side.
The fox was now surrounded and unable to move.
"Go for it, Levia! Now!" Doran screamed.
Levia acted quickly and threw the fireball at them.
Doran then began whispering, and right before the fireball hit them, he grabbed Yasmin’s hand and used Light Dash to teleport them out of the attack, leaving the fox alone to burn in the flames.
Once the fire disappeared, they saw the fox still standing there.
His fur had been burned away, revealing blackened skin underneath. He had been severely burned alive, poisoned, had a pillar of light piercing through his back, and several daggers embedded in his legs, along with numerous slashes covering his body.
Upon seeing the scene, Yasmin launched herself at him again inside her black cloud and delivered a dangerous, clean cut across his chest.
A large bloody wound opened across his chest as he lowered his head.
The team stared at the scene, waiting for something to happen.
The fox then slowly opened his mouth.
His voice was weak, yet cold.
"Stab that big, nasty human."
In the next second, Doran felt something pierce through his back.
His eyes widened as he turned his head.
Behind him stood Qasim, his face filled with shock as he desperately tried to stop the hand that had just attacked Doran.
Qasim’s body was moving on its own.
He was being controlled.
Yet Qasim himself was desperately fighting against it, trying with everything he had to stop his own hand.
Doran dropped to one knee.
Levia immediately prepared another spell to imprison Qasim, but the fox suddenly raised his head.
A huge, sinister smile spread across his face.
All the damage he had suffered began healing at an incredibly fast rate.
"Kill that mage human too."
The fox suddenly felt something behind him and dodged just in time as Yasmin slashed at him again with her dagger.
"I’ve got you now, little human~"
The fox tried to grab Yasmin by the neck, but she turned into her cloud, causing his hand to pass straight through her.
He grabbed nothing.
Then Yasmin attacked him from behind.
When he turned around, she attacked him from the front before expanding her black cloud, slowly swallowing the fox whole.
Inside the cloud, he couldn’t see, hear, or smell anything.
He could only sense things that were very close to him, which quickly proved useless, as Yasmin’s attacks were simply too fast for him to dodge—especially now that they were inside this strange cloud.
*Ah, a manipulator, I see...*
He continued getting hit from every direction.
But then he swung both hands with tremendous force, creating a powerful shockwave that dispersed the black cloud for a brief moment.
That moment was enough for him to escape.
"I assume you can’t trap me again until you rest for a moment, huh, little human?"
Yasmin finally revealed herself and stared coldly at the fox.
But then she noticed Qasim fighting Levia—and overpowering her.
"I can order him to stop if you submit to me, little human. I don’t want to break a sweat fighting you."
The fox spoke with a sinister smile.
Then he backed up his words with another threat.
"Come on, little human. I’m not lying. Drop to your knees, and he won’t kill her."
Yasmin calculated her options.
Then she dispersed the cloud and dropped to one knee.
"Good human~"
The fox turned toward Qasim.
"Hey, you! Just knock the mage human out!"
Qasim’s body moved again.
His hand stopped just before it pierced Levia’s eyes.
Instead, he punched her in the face.
As Levia fell to the ground, the fox ordered Qasim to bring Lion to him and untie him.
"I am so shameful to stand before you, my master, after my disappointing performance."
The Savior ignored his follower.
He noticed that the blond human was now the only one still standing.
Surprisingly, Valen hadn’t moved since the attack began.
*What is he thinking about~?*
The fox became excited at the thought of Valen’s next move.
Yasmin had been quite entertaining for him, and since Valen looked more experienced as a Second Step, that meant he would surely be even more entertaining.
But the fox didn’t expect Valen’s next words.
"It’s related to fear, isn’t it? Your powers... You aren’t an Irada user. In fact, you don’t follow any form of Mohlikat..."
"Hmm? I honestly thought you might fight or at least ask me for forgiveness..."
The fox started smiling, showing off his teeth.
"But this? Hahaha! What an interesting human!"
"First, go slap him for me, little human."
Qasim’s body moved again.
He walked toward Valen and slapped him hard enough that blood began dripping from his mouth.
Yet Valen’s eyes remained focused on the fox.
"Mmmm... I see your determination~ What a shame you were born a low human. Well, anyway, you are correct."
"I am the Savior, after all. Of course I won’t use the things normal creatures use. I am a special being! Something far more superior."
Madness began filling his eyes as he stared deeply into Valen’s eyes.
"Having nasty humans fear me is the reason this heart is still beating! Fear is power!"
"Those who fear me give me access to manipulate their emotions and decision-making at low levels of fear. Then, as they fear me more and more, I gain more authority."
"I grow stronger the more fear a person in front of me has. At some point, I can manipulate their bodies! Haha! Just like this little human here."
He pointed at Qasim before laughing.
"I never imagined a human who had never met me before could be so afraid of me that I would gain control over his body!"
He then pointed at Qasim’s head.
"Of course, when the fear reaches a high level, I can kill that person from far away, or set rules that will kill them if they break them."
His smile slowly faded as he turned his head toward his follower.
"Right, Lion? You’ve seen me kill many Beastkin and nasty humans that way."
"Yes, my master."
"See... You always refer to me as master, but I am no master, Lion..."
His expression became serious.
"I am the Savior. Your Savior, and the Savior of every Beastkin..."
"Y-Yes, my Savior..."
"Tell me, Lion... Do you follow me because you are afraid of me? Or because you are a believer?"
"A believer, of course, my Savior."
The fox’s expression finally lightened as he heard that answer.
"Liar."
In the next moment, a wet sound came from Lion’s skull.
Then his head exploded as if it had been crushed from the inside.
Blood spilled all over the place.
Brain matter scattered across the ground alongside fragments of his skull, followed by the loud thud of his body hitting the ground.
Qasim’s sweat increased, and his heart pounded faster as he sat behind Valen, watching something roll beside him.
It was Lion’s eye looking straight at him.
