Levia stood in front of the fire, puzzled by what her student had possibly created.

She couldn’t use water magic, so she simply grabbed a bottle of water and poured it over the fire. Surprisingly, the flames didn’t go out. They continued burning as if they weren’t bothered by the water at all.

Levia took a step back and cast an earth spell, summoning dirt over the fire. Yet the flames still didn’t stop, no matter how much dirt she piled onto them.

*This...* Her heartbeat began to rise as she looked at Qasim.

The boy noticed her expression changing, so he smiled confidently at her.

"What do you think, teacher? I call this the Immortal Fire!"

"Next, I want to change its color to black because I think it would look cool, but I still don’t know ho—"

Qasim stopped when he saw his teacher clutching his clothes.

He looked at her body and saw her trembling—something she hadn’t even done during the fox mission. Then he looked at her face, and his heart dropped.

She was biting her trembling lip, her expression filled with sadness and fear.

She spoke in a low voice.

"I know you worked very hard on this spell, but... I need you not to use it."

She raised her head, and for the first time, Qasim could see her eyes clearly beneath her long hair.

What he saw froze him.

Her black eyes were filled with deep fear and sadness.

She then released his clothes and slowly rolled up her own sleeve.

Qasim froze when he saw his teacher’s arm.

The skin was completely burned away, left in a horrible state that looked like rotten, charred flesh.

"Y-Your arm..." Qasim reached out, but she quickly covered it again.

"Don’t worry. It doesn’t hurt... The pain receptors have been dead for a long time anyway, and it doesn’t affect my health..."

She turned her head and looked at her arm.

"But I showed it to you because, a long time ago, when I was a child, I lost my home and my parents because of a spell just like this."

She took a deep breath, as if remembering something extremely painful.

"Back then, there was a killer who called himself the Immortal Flame."

She paused for a moment before continuing.

"There are some forbidden magic spells, and the spell you just created is one of them. That’s why it isn’t mentioned in the book."

"I lost my life that night. Thankfully, I was rescued by the leader of Team Three... You know him, Yorness. He saw potential in me and took me in as one of his students."

She then shook her head and smiled softly.

"Well, I wasn’t as talented as he described me. He called me a ’dumbass’ instead and handed me over to Team Four, where I met the woman I truly consider my one and only teacher."

She turned back to Qasim.

"What I want to say is... please don’t use this spell. Or at least promise me that you’ll only use it when there is no other solution."

She then raised her pinky finger.

"Do you promise?"

Qasim looked at her for a moment.

*In a way, she’s like me... No, she had a worse past than me. At least I had my dad by my side, while she...*

He shook his head and then hooked his pinky around hers.

"Yes, I promise..."

...

Another day had passed, and Kevin was now gone. Additionally, there were no new missions, so Qasim only had to train his magic and learn from Levia and the book.

But even that didn’t fill his entire day.

*I miss my phone...*

Qasim sat on his bed, staring into space.

*Maybe I should just close my eyes and...*

"HOW IS MY BOY DOING?!"

A loud voice startled him.

Valen had entered his room, and without waiting for Qasim to answer—or even stand up—he dragged the boy out of his room and straight to the meeting room.

"Get ready, my boy, because we’re meeting the king again!"

...

"C’mon! Can’t you go any faster?!"

Valen was shouting at the driver.

"Then come do my job if you think you can drive faster in the middle of the day!"

The two of them continued arguing, but Qasim was focused on something else.

He pointed at Valen’s red eyes and asked with a worried expression,

"Valen, you should take better care of yourself. Your eyes are so red. Did you sleep well last night?"

Valen answered without looking at him.

"Who are you? My dad? Mind your own business."

Qasim was shocked by his response, but he lowered his head and quietly apologized.

Valen let out a deep, tired sigh.

"Sorry, my boy. I’ll take care of myself. Thank you."

Qasim smiled in response.

...

The two of them passed through the golden hallway. It was exactly as Qasim remembered, but this time, they headed straight to the meeting room.

The two guards opened the door to the beautiful golden room.

In the middle of the room sat the king, still focused on the files in his hands.

Before him stood Team One, who looked exhausted.

Qasim never thought he would see Aluna and her team of beautiful elves looking like this. Their hair was a mess, and dark circles surrounded each of their eyes.

Aluna noticed him. At first, she looked shocked, as if she could sense that something about him had changed.

Then she gave him a gentle smile.

Next, Qasim noticed a new person.

He was a tall man with short black hair, and he looked visibly stressed.

*Is this the person who will lead the new Team Two?*

Before Qasim could think about it any further, his eyes were drawn to another person.

Team Three now had far fewer members compared to the last meeting.

But that wasn’t what bothered Qasim.

It was the fact that Yorness was also staring at him in shock.

He had clearly realized that Qasim was now a Hilal-Awal.

*I thought he would try to mock us for being late... Honestly, his reaction is pretty funny.*

Qasim hid his smile as he thought that, then he and Valen took their places.

With all the teams now present, everyone stepped forward and bowed deeply to the king.

Except for the new Team Two leader.

He was stunned for a moment before quickly following the others and bowing.

The king then raised his head slightly and looked directly at them.

Then, he raised an eyebrow at two particular people.
