A stronger output?

How could he achieve that?

Maybe by combining two skills?

But since they are not of the same beast, wasn’t that less of a combination and more of a fusion?

What kind of effects would that yield?

Luke didn’t know, but he felt it was worth a try.

*******

Luke lifted his armored arm, ridden with the skill, Vecna’s Arm. Around the gauntlet were black wisps and vapor, slowly twisting around his arm.

In place of his spear, he invoked a Lightning Trident. The icy blue weapon appeared, crackling from head to handle and illuminating the sky with its bright lightning.

As Luke gripped it with his gauntlet, the black matter from the gauntlet and the lightning gradually converged, intertwining slowly. Threads of energy boiled around them, and the air warped from the fusion taking place right in front of him.

Finally, they transformed and merged successfully.

Vecna’s Arm contaminated the Lightning Trident while the trident grew bigger. Eventually, the trident lost its icy color and became as black as the sky, with dead matter dripping from it like some kind of dark liquid.

Under Scarlett’s astonished gaze, black lightning crackled around the weapon while death seemed to define it. The aura coming from the trident was unlike anything she had ever felt before. Her mouth dropped open in shock as she finally understood what she was seeing.

Had Luke successfully fused abilities...?

Scarlett had to look at it through the lens of her own limits as a beast summoner.

Before your summon could fuse two or more abilities, those abilities had to be compatible, and it required an extraordinary level of control.

This was because, during the process, even the slightest mistake could cause the abilities to reject one another, endanger your summon’s life, and risk a soul backlash.

Many powerful summoners had been successful with their beasts and could instruct them to combine two skills on a whim.

But none could combine the abilities of different beasts—even summoners who had more than one summon.

This further explained why Luke wasn’t a summoner in the traditional sense. If anyone could bridge the gap between different beasts, it should be him.

And the fact that he realized he could accomplish this while being a rookie was nothing short of impressive. His dexterity was even more astonishing than his strength!

Now, Luke wasn’t paying attention to Scarlett’s reaction. His focus was on his hybrid trident and the Hundred-Eye Crow.

The fusion was so successful that he knew it wasn’t luck.

He could connect different beasts through armor, and now that understanding had extended to their abilities as well.

The Lightning Trident and Vecna’s Arm became something new instead of rejecting each other, and Luke wanted to know just how much damage this new attack could inflict.

With all his strength, he hurled the fused attack at the Hundred-Eye Crow. The trident vanished from his grip and crossed the sky like a black meteor before striking the Greater beast, which couldn’t do anything to stop it.

Black lightning danced from its wound as the crow cried out. Those two skills were just too powerful for a beast like that to withstand, even with a concentrated core. It died right there.

The death of the Hundred-Eye Crow left Scarlett in a daze.

After everything Luke had shown today, this was the last thing she expected from him because she knew how absurd it was for him to pull something like that off.

Just a month ago, she had considered herself the most talented of her age!

Meanwhile, Luke smiled in satisfaction as the crow’s body turned to flame. The effort he had spent fusing the two abilities had been worth it, and the result had exceeded even his expectations.

〖The Hundred-Eye Crow Armor Set has been added to your Forge Draft! Good luck!〗

"Good luck?" Luke thought, rubbing his chin. "So, killing a real beast adds it to my Forge Draft? Does that mean I can revive the Hundred-Eye Crow again by forging the armor pieces it once wore?"

Sometimes Luke wished the system could answer some of his questions, but his instincts told him he was right. By adding the Hundred-Eye Crow to his Forge Draft, Luke could revive the beast again.

But there was one problem. It was a Greater beast while the rest in his draft were Ancient and Mythic.

Luke wasn’t about to give up the chance to revive an Ancient or Mythic beast for one that couldn’t even fight him back. If he was going to spend his Flame, he’d rather go for the bigger guns, like the Lightning Dragon.

His thoughts were stolen by the vibrancy of the concentrated core. That was what he had wanted from the beginning, the greatest reward a five-dungeon tower had to offer.

Before he could approach it, his soul winced. This was because of the load he had put on it. Wearing five armor pieces had been the limit after all.

The pain only made him hurry toward the core even faster.

It was so concentrated that the energy inside it could power something capable of nuking a city. This made Luke wonder why the vampire had wanted it so badly.

Forgetting about that, he placed his hand on the core and absorbed it. The process took some time before the last trace of energy finally flowed into him, and he felt the power running through his veins.

Level 40 Summoner?

Luke knew the core would be a game changer, but that leap was much greater than what he expected.

Also, about his soul. Moving from D-rank to C-rank changed a lot in just a second. The wince he felt disappeared, replaced by a feeling of ease. His soul capacity had increased.

Now, wearing five armor pieces or more wouldn’t be a burden anymore. Luke grinned as he wondered if this meant he could equip Mythic-grade armor as well.
