Overlord: The Multiverse

Narberal, Cocytus, Albedo, and I stood in the Throne Room. Tension lingered in the air like a storm waiting to break. I opened my system interface, the portal window ready at my command. My fingers hovered over the activation rune.

And that’s when I felt her presence—Death.

Her voice rang out in my mind, soft but unwavering. "Dear, before you go... I’m going to seal part of your power."

I didn’t move, didn’t even blink. "Seal it? Why?"

"It’s necessary," she said gently. "I’ll explain everything later, but for now... if something strange happens—no matter how strange—don’t panic. Trust me. I’ll be watching you."

Her words were laced with something deeper than just caution. Worry. Urgency. Maybe even fear.

But I didn’t flinch. "As long as I have you," I said quietly, "I won’t worry."

Death’s warmth faded from my mind like a fading breeze, but I knew she hadn’t truly left. She was just waiting... watching from her place beyond time.

I turned toward Albedo, who stood at my side with her hands clenched at her sides. Her golden eyes locked with mine, searching for answers I couldn’t give her yet.

"I’m leaving," I said.

She nodded, though her lips trembled slightly. "We’ll be waiting for your return, my lord."

I stepped forward, took her face gently in my hands, and kissed her deeply. She melted into the touch, holding onto me like I might vanish if she let go.

When I pulled away, I looked her in the eye. "If something happens after I enter the portal... take care of Nazarick. You are the heart of this place when I’m gone."

Albedo lowered her gaze, hiding the emotion brimming in her eyes. "I will protect it with my life, my lord."

I turned back to the portal.

One Piece (A-Rank)

With that, I entered the portal.

After Alex entered the portal to the One Piece world.

The Realm of Death was a place of silence. No wind. No warmth. No time.

Only stillness.

Until the portal opened.

A ripple tore through the fabric of reality like a sunbeam piercing eternal night. The space twisted inward, and from that gleaming fracture stepped a woman draped in flowing white. Her silver-white hair cascaded like moonlight down her back, and every step she took upon the cold, lifeless ground left a trail of blooming flowers and soft green grass.

The air grew warm, just slightly—but enough to crack the frost on ancient obsidian stones. Birds—impossible in Death’s dominion—chirped faintly in the distance.

Death, seated upon her throne of bone and starlight, did not rise.

But her eyes narrowed.

"...You," she said flatly.

The woman in white ignored the greeting. Her gaze swept across the bleak realm with quiet urgency, searching. Sensing. Then her eyes, glowing with light and creation, locked onto Death.

"Where is he?"

Death’s voice didn’t change. Smooth, dark, endless. "Who?"

The woman’s expression didn’t shift—but the realm did. The sprouting life beneath her feet spread wider, reaching toward the throne like vines hungry to reclaim lost ground.

"You know who," she said softly. "My shard."

Death stood.

Her movement sent a wave of shadow across the land, smothering the creeping grass. The skulls in her throne hissed, and the sky above cracked with distant thunder.

"Not anymore," Death replied coldly. "He chose me."

"He didn’t choose you," Life said, taking a step forward, her presence igniting another burst of blooming grass beneath her bare feet. "You manipulated him. Corrupted him with your power. You’ve kept him bouncing from world to world to delay what’s already inside him."

"What you call corruption," Death said calmly, "I call growth. Every world, every step—he unlocks more of himself. Slowly. Intentionally. So that his personality, his emotions, remain intact."

"Personality?" Life scoffed, her eyes flashing with righteous fury. "Emotions? He doesn’t need those. He was perfect the way he was—beyond joy, beyond sorrow, beyond weakness. Pure. Unclouded."

Death’s expression twisted—half pity, half scorn. "No. He was hollow. A weapon in stasis. You didn’t love him—you wanted to possess him. You still do."

"I felt his warmth!" Life snapped, the flowers under her feet rising in defiant bloom. "His light was mine to nurture! But now? Now I can’t even touch him—because you made him an undead. Cold. Still. Not even a heartbeat I can feel."

"That stillness is what saved him from breaking," Death said, shadows swirling behind her like a growing tide. "You would’ve burned him out long ago."

"He belongs with me," Life whispered, deadly calm now. "Where is he?"

"Gone," Death answered, gaze sharpening like a blade. "To a place even you won’t follow. He needs time."

"I don’t need time," Life said, her gown beginning to glow, petals scattering around her. "I need him."

The two forces stared across the still, trembling realm.

Neither would yield.

Neither could.

Creation and End. Emotionless Perfection and Painful Growth. Two truths that could never coexist.

"You will break him," Life whispered.

"You already tried," Death murmured.

And then—

They moved.

Blinding light surged from Life’s form, a holy tide of golden vines and celestial fire, striking like a storm of judgment. Death rose with the silence of oblivion, her scythe forming from the void, cutting down the incoming brilliance with one sweeping motion.

Reality cracked.

The Realm of Death screamed.

And above it all, two primordial forces clashed—fighting not just for a soul, but for what that soul should become.
