Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 40: Leave Me AloneThe vehicle rolled to a stop in front of the illuminated marble terrace of The Imperial Crest Manor.
The cool night air was fresh, carrying the scent of pine trees and rain-washed gardens.
Evren stepped out of the vehicle first, turning back to offer his hand.
Inside the car, Zephyra hesitated.
She tried to pull the mantle closer around her chest, but her fingers trembled violently, slipping against the thick dragon-wool fabric. The dark necrotic poison inside her primary mana conduits sent sharp, needle-like spasms shooting down her wrists, making fine motor control nearly impossible.
Evren reached in and gently supported her forearm, helping her step down onto the dry marble terrace without making her feel weak.
"Take your time," Evren said quietly. "There’s no rush here."
Zephyra pulled her arm back the moment her feet touched the ground, forcing her spine straight.
"I can walk.".
She looked up at the sprawling fifty-acre estate in shock. Bright, golden lanterns lit up the front of the three-story house, reflecting off the glass balconies and neat gardens.
"Where... where is this?" Zephyra asked as her violet-flecked eyes darted across the high stone archways. "This isn’t a guild fortress."
"This is Victoria Hill," Evren replied calmly. "My home."
Before Zephyra could process his answer, the sound of light footsteps echoed down the marble stairs.
Dressed in an emerald-accented silk robe, Amber walked down the entrance steps with effortless, graceful strides.
Zephyra’s body tensed instantly and she narrowed her eyes.
In the world of guilds, a powerful man’s partner was always territorial, cruel and jealous of new arrivals. So she braced herself, expecting mockery, insults or a demand to have her thrown off the property.
But when Amber reached the base of the steps, stopping three paces away, she didn’t glare. There was no anger, suspicion, or pride in her expression.
Instead, Amber’s dark eyes softened as she looked at Zephyra’s pale, sweat-streaked face, her bruised wrists, and the dark purple veins pulsing painfully along her collarbones.
She stepped forward, closing the distance without hesitation and gently took Zephyra’s cold, trembling hands into her own warm palms.
Zephyra flinched. "What are you doing?"
Amber looked directly into Zephyra’s guarded eyes and smiled warmly.
"Welcome to Victoria Hill, Zephyra. You don’t have to be on guard anymore, sister. You’re safe now."
Zephyra froze.
Her assassin instincts, honed over years of bloodshed and betrayal, completely short-circuited.
"You... you know who I am?" Zephyra stammered in confusion.
"The legendary Shadowblade of the Northern Rifts," Amber replied gently. "The youngest S-Rank scout to map the Abyssal Void. Evren messaged me from the road, but every Vanguard Commander in the city already knew your name before you vanished four months ago."
A shadow crossed Zephyra’s pale face.
"That assassin is dead," Zephyra whispered, looking down at her trembling, bruised fingers. "The woman standing before you is just a ruined weapon... a poisoned has-been who can’t even hold a blade."
"And I was a disgraced hunter paralyzed in a wheelchair for six months," Amber replied. "I know exactly what it feels like to think your life is over. But nobody in this house is going to abandon you."
Zephyra looked down at their joined hands. Her throat tightened, as she couldn’t find the words to speak.
Just then, Arthur stepped forward, bowing deeply. He had received Master Evren’s encrypted message thirty minutes prior and had prepared everything.
"Good evening, Master Evren, Lady Amber," Arthur greeted them warmly. "Welcome to Victoria Hill, Lady Zephyra. As requested, the East Wing Garden Pavilion has been fully prepared with heated thermal floors, fresh linens, and a hot herbal bath."
Arthur signaled two senior estate maids, who stepped forward with warm cotton towels and a soft velvet robe.
"Lady Zephyra, allow us to escort you to your suite," Arthur said gently.
Zephyra looked at Evren, then at Amber. Seeing Amber give her a reassuring nod, Zephyra slowly nodded, allowing Arthur and the two maids to guide her across the grand foyer toward the private East Wing pavilion.
Once the double doors of the East Wing closed, Amber turned to Evren, her expression turning serious.
"Her mana conduits are severely damaged, aren’t they?" Amber asked, walking beside Evren as they entered the main foyer. "I saw the purple necrotic lines across her neck. That’s high-tier shadow miasma."
"Abyssal shadow necrosis from an S-Rank rift," Evren nodded. "Her primary mana veins are calcified. Circulating mana causes severe internal hemorrhaging, and the nerve spasms make her hands tremble constantly."
Amber let out a quiet sigh, gently resting her hand on Evren’s arm.
"I know that look in her eyes, Evren," Amber whispered softly. "It’s the exact same look I had when you brought me home from the street. Feral... terrified... waiting for the other shoe to drop."
Amber looked up at him with a smile. "I’ll have the kitchens prepare a pot of warm herbal bone broth for her right now. It won’t cure her veins, but it will settle her stomach and help her rest."
"Thank you, Amber," Evren smiled, gently squeezing her hand. "You’re amazing."
"Go get some rest yourself," Amber said softly, heading toward the private estate kitchens. "You’ve had a long night."

Evren walked up the grand staircase to the second-floor master study, closing the door behind him. He sat down behind his desk and pulled out his phone, opening his banking application.
BEEP.
*APEX NATIONAL BANK: VIP SOVEREIGN MASTER ACCOUNT*
LIQUID CASH BALANCE: $207,047,542.50 USD
Evren closed the banking app and focused his eyes, activating his private System interface:
[SYSTEM SOVEREIGN STATUS & TREASURY:]
SYSTEM SOVEREIGN VAULT: $200,000,000,000.00 USD (Held in Transdimensional Storage — Withdrawable On-Demand)
ACTIVE BASELINE REBATE: 100x Multiplier (Active on all recognized Heroines)
[SYSTEM INVENTORY & QUEST SETTLEMENT]
[1x S-RANK SHADOW SOVEREIGN SKILL CORE]
[1x ABYSSAL SHADOW-LOTUS RIFT COORDINATES]
[1x S-RANK FROST-VALKYRIE TWIN BLADES BLUEPRINT]
Evren leaned back in his leather chair.
The emergency rescue was complete, but the real work had just begun:
First, he would need to stabilize Zephyra’s immediate condition. Her body’s far too weak for high-tier alchemical pills. So he would need to procure specialized medical equipment and rare soothing herbs for her Stage 1 Necrotic Dissolution.
Second, he needed to visit Master Tridon with the blueprint and the remaining Glacial Wyvern dragon-bone ingots so Tridon could forge Amber’s S-Rank Frost-Valkyrie Twin Blades.
Third, once Zephyra’s tremors stabilized, he would need to enter the Sector 4 Shadow Rift using the system coordinates to harvest the Abyssal Shadow-Lotus.
Evren tapped his desk as a quiet smile touched his lips.
With two hundred billion dollars in his account, every piece was falling into place.
—
Meanwhile, inside the East Wing Garden Pavilion, the guest suite was bathed in soft, warm light.
The heated marble floors warmed the room, while a large king-sized feather bed with clean Egyptian silk sheets sat in the center.
The two maids bowed respectfully near the door. "Lady Zephyra, the hot herbal bath is ready in the adjoining room. Would you like us to assist you?"
Zephyra stood stiffly near the entrance, her trembling hands struggling to keep the edges of the Wyvern mantle around her shoulders.
"No. Leave me alone. Please."
The maids exchanged glances, bowed politely, and stepped out into the hallway, softly closing the door behind them.
Zephyra stood completely alone in the center of the suite.
The room’s luxury made her chest feel tight. The soft bed, the warm air, and the golden chandeliers... everything felt completely wrong to someone who had spent four months locked in an iron cage, sleeping on blood-stained concrete while waiting to be slaughtered by beasts or worse.
It’s a trap, her mind screamed in panic. It has to be. Nobody spends twenty million dollars to buy a broken assassin, puts her in a palace, and treats her like a princess.
Zephyra refused to touch the bed.
She walked slowly toward the small tea table near the balcony. On the silver tray sat an antique porcelain teacup.
Zephyra tried to pick up the cup, but her nerve tremors caused her fingers to twitch violently, causing the cup to slip from her grasp.
It shattered on impact against the marble table edge with a sharp CLINK.
Biting her lip, Zephyra picked up a jagged, four-inch porcelain shard from the table. Her trembling hand barely managed to maintain a grip on the sharp ceramic edge.
Holding the shard tightly against her palm, Zephyra retreated into the darkest shadow corner between the wardrobe and the wall.
She slid down against the wall, pulling her knees tightly to her chest on the hard floor.
She wrapped the warm mantle around her shivering body, hiding the shard beneath the fabric. Her violet eyes glowed like a feral wolf in the dark as she stared at the door without blinking.
"Nobody spends twenty million dollars for nothing..." Zephyra whispered to herself, her knuckles trembling as she clutched the shard. "What is he really planning?"
