Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 41: Calibration CompleteThe morning sun warmed the manor’s beautiful gardens with a golden glow.
Inside the sunlit dining terrace, Evren and Amber sat at the marble table. A full breakfast spread of fresh pastries, scrambled eggs, and hot tea was laid out, but the third seat remained empty.
"She hasn’t come down," Amber said softly, looking toward the East Wing corridor. "The maids knocked twice with fresh clothes and tea, but she only answered with a cold ’leave it outside’."
Evren set his teacup down. "She’s been chained in an underground pit for four months. She won’t sit at a dining table with strangers until she feels safe."
"I took a clean linen tunic and a silk robe to her door earlier," Amber added. "I heard her moving, but she’s in a lot of pain, Evren. You should check on her."
Evren nodded. He picked up a silver tray with a bowl of warm herbal porridge and a cup of honey-infused chamomile tea, then walked down the grand hallway toward the Zephyra’s room.
When he reached the double doors, he knocked gently. "Zephyra, It’s Evren. I brought breakfast."
There was a tense silence before a raspy, strained voice replied from inside: "I’m not hungry."
Evren turned the brass handle and gently pushed the door open.
Inside the sunlit suite, Zephyra was sitting at the small marble tea table near the garden balcony.
She had washed the arena grime from her face and had changed into the soft, loose gray linen tunic that Amber had left for her. Around her shoulders, she still wore the thick, warm S-Rank Glacial Wyvern Mantle, using it like armor to shield her shivering body.
On the table sat the porcelain bowl of bone broth Amber had sent the night before.
Zephyra was leaning over the table, gritting her teeth tightly as she attempted to pick up the silver spoon.
Evren stopped in his tracks, watching quietly.
Zephyra’s right hand was trembling violently. The dark purple necrotic lines along her wrist pulsed with toxic miasma, sending involuntary nerve spasms shooting through her fingers. Her thumb and forefinger twitched uncontrollably as she tried to pinch the handle of the spoon.
CLINK.
The spoon slipped from her hand and clattered against the bowl.
Zephyra let out a frustrated hiss. She grabbed the spoon with both hands, trying to force her fingers to close around the metal.
Her knuckles turned white as her hand shook so hard. When she finally managed to lift the spoon two inches off the table, the soup spilled over the edge, splashing on her sleeve and the marble table.
Zephyra dropped the spoon in fury.
She pulled her hands back to her chest, curling her shivering fingers into tight fists. Her shoulders shook with suppressed anger and humiliation as tears of helplessness filled her eyes.
She hadn’t heard Evren enter, but seeing his shadow on the floor, she froze.
Zephyra slowly turned her head, glaring at him with wounded pride. "Are you enjoying the show?" she choked out. "Looking at the great S-Rank Shadowblade who can’t even feed herself a spoonful of soup without spilling it like a useless invalid?!"
Evren walked calmly over to the table, set down the fresh tray of warm porridge and tea, and pulled up a chair across from her.
"There’s nothing shameful about nerve damage, Zephyra," Evren said quietly. "You took an S-Rank shadow beast’s venom to the core and survived four months in a dungeon. The fact that you’re sitting upright right now means you’re stronger than you think."
Evren reached forward, picked up the silver spoon, and dipped it into the warm bowl of porridge, gently offering it toward her.
Zephyra caught her breath, her cheeks going red from embarrassment and stubborn pride. She turned her face away toward the garden windows, refusing to look at the spoon.
"Don’t..." she whispered. "Don’t waste your time pitying me... I don’t need your charity."
Evren looked at her proud, trembling silhouette for a long moment, then let out a sigh. He set the spoon down gently on the edge of the bowl.
"Rest for now," Evren said softly, standing up. "I’m having our medical team look at you."
As Evren walked out to the grand foyer, he called Mikay immediately.
"Chairman," Mikay answered.
"Mikay, I need the top Awakener neuro-toxin and meridian specialist in the city brought to Victoria Hill discreetly," Evren instructed. "We need a complete diagnostic of Zephyra’s mana channels."
"Understood, Chairman," Mikay replied. "Dr. Ron Hayes, the Chief of Awakener Trauma at St. Jude’s High-Rank Institute, is on our retainer. I’ll have him at the estate in fifteen minutes."
Fifteen minutes later, a sedan arrived at the manor terrace.
Mikay, accompanied by Dr. Ron Hayes, a distinguished specialist with silver-streaked hair, stepped into the master foyer carrying advanced diagnostic resonance equipment.
Guided by Arthur, Dr. Hayes conducted a gentle, non-invasive diagnostic scan in the East Pavilion while Zephyra sat tense and silent under the Wyvern mantle.
Twenty minutes later, Dr. Hayes walked into the master study with the results.
"Chairman Evren," Dr. Hayes started, projecting the scans. "Her condition is severe. It is Grade-5 Abyssal Shadow Necrosis. The dark miasma has calcified her primary radial and brachial mana conduits, causing violent involuntary nerve tremors and a ninety-two percent loss of grip strength."
"Can standard medical procedures cure her?" Evren asked.
"Medically speaking? No," Dr. Hayes admitted with a shake of his head. "Standard surgery cannot dissolve calcified shadow miasma without permanently severing her mana channels. Aside from prescribing palliative therapies to soothe her acute burning pain, modern medicine has no permanent cure."
Evren’s eyes narrowed slightly. "She’s struggling to eat. Her tremors make it impossible to hold a spoon, and her trauma from four months in a dungeon makes her panic whenever human staff get close to her."
Dr. Hayes nodded in understanding.
"In that case, Chairman, what she needs right now is private, non-intrusive assistance." Dr. Hayes pulled up a high-tier military medical catalog on his tablet. "Titan Medical Robotics manufactures a specialized rehabilitation unit, the Aegis-BioCare RX-9 Autonomous Medical Droid. It can assist her with eating and daily care without human presence, and its contactless thermal pulse emitters can be calibrated to soothe her inflamed nerve spasms while she rests."
Evren turned to Mikay. "Order it immediately. Expedited delivery."
"The customized Aegis-BioCare RX-9 unit with expedited tactical courier delivery is two million dollars, Chairman," Mikay said.
"Authorize the payment from my master account," Evren ordered.
BEEP.
The moment the two-million-dollar transaction cleared, a brilliant golden light flared directly behind Evren’s retinas:

An hour later, an expedited delivery transport from Titan Medical Robotics arrived at the Victoria Hill gates.
The Aegis-BioCare RX-9 was unloaded onto the marble terrace. It stood four feet tall and moved on silent magnetic tracks. The machine was made of matte-white alloy, with soft blue indicators and articulated dual-assist arms.
Dr. Hayes connected his tablet to the unit’s data port and quickly calibrated the thermal pulse emitters to match Zephyra’s specific meridian resonance frequency.
"Calibration complete, Chairman," Dr. Hayes said, stepping back with a satisfied nod. "The thermal frequency is stabilized to ease her nerve spasms without causing energetic friction."
"Thank you, Doctor," Evren nodded.
Evren turned and walked toward the East Wing, the four-foot medical droid gliding silently behind him.
Reaching Zephyra’s door, Evren stopped, raised his hand and knocked gently. "Zephyra," Evren called out in a calm voice. "It’s Evren. I have something that might help you."
Inside the quiet room, Zephyra froze in the corner, clutching the warm mantle tightly to her chest.
Her violet eyes dilated in sudden terror.
Through the floor, her sharp senses caught a faint mechanical hum coming from the hallway. The low, electric whine sounded just like the torture carts and shock machines from the dungeons of Arena #9.
Her heart slammed against her ribs and her blood ran cold as a bitter realization hit her.
’I knew it...’ Zephyra thought, her trembling hand reaching instinctively for the sharp porcelain shard hidden in her sleeve. ’Nobody spends twenty million dollars just to be kind... The iron table is here.’
