Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 6: Rooftop DinnerEvren stepped out of the private elevator and walked back into the Crown Penthouse, holding the sealed metallic case he had retrieved from the Sterling Guild Annex.
Amber was sitting on the edge of the king-sized bed in her soft cashmere robe. When she saw him walk in, her face lit up with a bright, hopeful smile.
"You’re back," she said softly.
"I brought back what belongs to you," Evren smiled, placing the metallic case on the bed beside her.
He opened the latch. Inside lay Amber’s polished S-Rank Captain Medal, a small photo album from her childhood, and a simple silver ring engraved with lotus patterns... her late mother’s heirloom.
Amber’s breath caught in her throat. Her hands trembled as she reached down and picked up the silver ring.
Tears instantly welled up in her dark eyes.
When her family had stripped her of her captain title and disowned her, they had locked away her mother’s ring, telling her she was no longer worthy to hold anything of value. She had thought she would never see it again.
Amber slid the silver ring onto her left index finger, clutching her hand against her chest as tears spilled down her cheeks.
"Evren..." she sobbed quietly, looking up at him. "They told me I’d never get this back... Thank you... thank you so much."
Evren sat beside her on the bed and gently wiped a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "Nobody gets to steal your memories, Amber. From now on, nobody pushes you around."
Amber squeezed his hand tightly, leaning her head against his shoulder. She motioned to the empty tray on the nightstand. "The penthouse room service staff brought in a hot breakfast while you were out... thank you, Evren."
"Now then," Evren smiled softly, standing up. "You’ve been trapped in hospital rooms and dark spaces for months. How about we go out for dinner tonight?"
Amber blinked, surprised. "Go out? But... where?"
"Right upstairs," Evren replied. "The top floor of Apex Tower has a five-star rooftop restaurant called The Celestial Dining. I’ve already booked us a table."
Amber looked down at her sleek midnight-blue silk dress hanging in the open wardrobe. A gentle blush touched her cheeks, but her eyes held a spark of excitement she hadn’t felt in six months.
"Okay," she whispered softly.
—
On the 80th floor of Apex Tower, soft piano music played throughout the dimly lit dining room of The Celestial Dining.
The restaurant was the most exclusive dining spot in Veridia Metropolis, reserved strictly for high-ranking Awakener executives, wealthy guild heirs, and city elites. Glass walls offered a sweeping view of the glittering city lights below.
At a prominent window table, Prescott was sipping expensive red wine, looking thoroughly pleased with himself.
Sitting across from him was Giselle, wearing a tight red designer dress and diamond earrings that Prescott had bought her that morning. Two junior executives from Prescott Guild sat beside them, laughing at Prescott’s jokes.
"Young Master Prescott, your deal to absorb the Sterling Guild’s logistics routes is genius," one executive praised, raising his glass. "With your stake in DashExpress and influence in the metropolis, we practically own the city’s food and mana delivery networks!"
Prescott smirked, swirling his wine glass. "It’s all about leverage. Some pathetic delivery bug tried to talk back to me yesterday. I had him fired on the spot and fined five hundred dollars before he could even blink. That’s how we control this city."
Giselle smiled politely, taking a sip of her wine, enjoying the luxury lifestyle she had traded Evren for.
Suddenly, Prescott’s phone vibrated loudly on the table.
Prescott glanced at the caller ID: Barton (DashExpress Manager).
Prescott sneered, picking up the call. "What is it, Barton? I’m having dinner. This better be important."
"Y-Young Master Prescott!" Barton’s voice came screaming through the speaker. "We’re ruined! It’s over!"
Prescott’s brow furrowed in annoyance. "Shut up and speak clearly! What are you babbling about?!"
"A buyer just injected five million dollars cash directly into the corporate escrow!" Barton sobbed loudly. "He bought fifty-one percent of DashExpress! Your twelve percent stake has been completely marginalized to non-voting noise! And... and he just fired me on the spot!"
"WHAT?!" Prescott slammed his wine glass onto the table so hard red wine spilled across the white tablecloth. The surrounding tables turned to look at him in surprise.
"Who bought fifty-one percent?!" Prescott roared into the phone, his face twisting in rage. "Who is the new Chairman?!"
"It’s Evren!" Barton wailed hysterically. "The new owner is Evren!"
Prescott paused, his forehead wrinkling in confusion. "Evren? Who the hell is Evren?"
"The delivery guy!" Barton stammered frantically. "The F-Rank delivery rider you had me fire yesterday!"
It suddenly clicked in Prescott’s mind. His eyes bulged in utter shock.
"WHAT?!" Prescott screamed into the phone, his face turning pale. "That broke delivery bug has five million dollars cash?!"
Across the table, Giselle froze. Her face drained of all color as the name Evren and five million dollars echoed in her ears.
"Prescott..." Giselle stammered. "What... what did you just say?"
Before Prescott could answer, the double doors of the VIP elevator chimed open.
The restaurant head manager bowed deeply as he escorted two new guests into the dining room.
Evren walked in, wearing a dark tailored suit and white silk shirt. Dressed like a high-society tycoon, his posture was relaxed yet commanding. Pushed smoothly before him was Amber, seated comfortably in her motorized anti-gravity wheelchair.
She wore her midnight-blue dress beneath a soft cream cashmere coat, her long dark hair falling over her shoulders.
The moment they entered, several wealthy diners turned their heads, admiring the striking couple.
Prescott turned his head toward the entrance and froze dead in his tracks.
Giselle glanced over, and her wine glass slipped from her fingers, shattering on the polished floor.
"E-Evren?!" Giselle gasped, her eyes bulging in utter disbelief.
Prescott stood up so fast his chair screeched loudly against the floor. His face contorted into a mixture of shock, confusion, and burning rage.
"Evren?!" Prescott shouted across the quiet restaurant. "What the hell are you doing here?!"
Evren didn’t even glance at him. He just pushed Amber’s wheelchair toward the prime VIP window table that the head manager had reserved for them.
Prescott stomped over, blocking their path, his face red with anger. He glared down at Evren’s tailored suit, then looked at Amber’s gorgeous silk gown.
"How did a fired delivery boy and a disowned cripple get up to the VIP floor?!" Prescott snarled, pointing an angry finger at Evren. "Did you steal those clothes?! Did you sneak past security?!"
Amber shrank back slightly at Prescott’s loud voice, but Evren stepped forward, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Evren looked at Prescott with cold, indifferent eyes. "Get out of my way, Prescott. You’re ruining our dinner."
"Your dinner?!" Prescott laughed maniacally. "You broke trash! Do you have any idea where you are?! This is The Celestial Dining! A single meal here costs more than your entire life’s savings!"
Prescott turned and barked loudly at the restaurant staff. "Manager! Where is your security?! Drag these two impostors out of my sight before I call the owner!"
Before any waiter could respond, a distinguished middle-aged man in a gray suit stepped through the private VIP entrance, flanked by four head security guards.
It was the General Manager of Apex Tower.
Prescott’s eyes lit up. "General Manager! Good timing! Look at what your front door let in... a F-Rank nobody and a disowned cripple sneaking onto your VIP floor!"
The General Manager didn’t even look at Prescott. He walked straight past him, stopped right in front of Evren, and bowed deeply at a ninety-degree angle.
"Good evening, Mr. Evren," the General Manager said with utmost respect. "I was informed you were dining with us tonight. Your private Imperial Window Table is fully prepared."
Prescott froze and his jaw dropped so wide. "G-General Manager?! What are you doing?! He’s a broke delivery rider!"
The General Manager turned around, looking at Prescott with disdain.
"Mr. Prescott," the General Manager said sharply, "Mr. Evren is the sole leaseholder of our top Crown Penthouse and holds unlimited Black Card privileges across the entirety of Apex Tower. You are publicly harassing our most honored resident."
"Crown Penthouse?!" Prescott gasped, his blood running cold.
It suddenly hit Prescott like a thunderbolt. Last night, the manager had told him a "mystery Black Card VIP" had outbid him and taken the Crown Penthouse he wanted.
The mystery billionaire who stole the penthouse... was Evren!
"Y-You..." Prescott stammered, pointing a shaking finger at Evren, his face turning paper-white. "You’re the one who took the penthouse?!"
Evren didn’t even give him a glance, calmly taking his seat across from Amber.
The General Manager snapped his fingers.
"Security," the General Manager ordered coldly. "Escort Mr. Prescott, his companion, and his guests off the premises immediately. Cancel their reservation and ban them from Apex Tower."
"What?! You can’t do this! I’m the heir of Prescott Guild!" Prescott screamed as two heavy security guards pinned his arms backward, marching him out.
Giselle gasped in horror as another guard grabbed her arm, escorting her away.
As she was being marched toward the elevator, Giselle turned her head in total shock, staring at Evren. Evren was calmly sitting down at the prime window table across from Amber, sipping sparkling water without even looking back at her.
Giselle’s heart sank into a deep, terrifying abyss of regret.
The broke delivery boy she had dumped yesterday was sitting at the apex of the city, while the rich heir she had chosen was being dragged out like a dog.
Inside the quiet, candlelit dining room, Evren cut a tender piece of Wagyu steak and placed it onto Amber’s plate. Amber looked up at him, her dark eyes shining with pure warmth and devotion.
At that exact moment, a translucent golden system screen flared softly before Evren’s eyes:
[DING! Heroine Amber’s Trust Level Has Reached 25%! (First Milestone Achieved!)]
[Unlocking Milestone Reward... System Fortune Wheel Available!]
[System Quest Unlocked: Stage 2 Nerve Pill — Glacial Lotus Essence (B-Rank Frost Rift)!]
Evren looked across the table at Amber, a confident, sharp smile touching his lips.
’A B-Rank Frost Rift?’ Evren thought within himself. ’It’s time to get Amber back on her feet.’
