Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 238: Do You Know Fang Jiahao?

He felt that he would never dare to provoke Shen Mingyue again and hoped Chen Qingdi would let them off the hook.

Kneeling beside him, Fang Jiahao’s heart was also wrung with anguish. He knew he had made a terrible mistake, dragging both his father and himself into a desperate situation.

As Fang Dahong knelt there, he was startled by a sudden thud from behind. He turned to see his son, Fang Jiahao, had fainted and collapsed on the ground.

He quickly gathered his son in his arms, terrified. He knew this incident had dealt his son a massive blow.

"Do you want to save them?" Chen Qingdi’s voice suddenly reached his ears.

Chen Qingdi radiated an aura of majesty and dominance. He stood there, facing the kneeling father and son of the Fang Family, his words like knives, piercing straight to the heart.

"You dogs! Look at this bunch of worthless trash from the Fang Family. Do you still dare to flaunt your power in front of me?!" Chen Qingdi bellowed, his voice echoing like thunder through the air.

The Fang father and son trembled in fear, not daring to even glance up at Chen Qingdi.

They knew the man was right; the Fang Family truly was trash. For a group of their underlings to have dared to bury someone on their own, just to curry favor with him—such an act was utterly despicable.

"Mr. Chen, I beg you, please don’t be angry." Fang Dahong, the Patriarch of the Fang Family, stamped down and broke his son’s legs with one foot as a gesture of his sincerity. "Please, spare my son’s worthless life."

Seeing Fang Dahong’s actions, Chen Qingdi’s expression softened slightly. He took a Spirit Pill from his robes and handed it to Fang Dahong.

"This is a Bone Healing Pill. Have him take it. But for a full recovery, it will take at least three years."

Fang Dahong accepted the Spirit Pill as if it were a priceless treasure. Chen Qingdi’s anger had also dissipated considerably. "Thank you for your profound grace, Mr. Chen," he said gratefully.

"Remember this. If you fall into my hands again, don’t blame me for not giving your Great War God Fang any face!" Chen Qingdi said coldly.

Hearing this, Fang Dahong and the others among the Ten Great War Gods broke out in a cold sweat. They knew Chen Qingdi was telling the truth.

In this martial world, the strong were revered. Although their minor sects possessed some power, they were still as weak as ants before a peerless expert like Chen Qingdi.

"Yes... yes... Mr. Chen." Fang Dahong’s son swallowed the Bone Healing Pill. Though the pain was still unbearable, a warmth spread through his heart.

He knew his life had been saved. And it was all thanks to the man standing before him—Chen Qingdi.

"You all can go back first. Focus on healing," Chen Qingdi said, waving his hand to dismiss them.

As for him, he continued deeper into the forest, leaving only his back for the crowd to gaze upon in awe.

Fang Dahong and the others left as if granted a great pardon, knowing they had indeed done wrong.

But they also came to understand a principle: in this martial world, only strength truly mattered! They had to cultivate diligently, or sooner or later, they would be looked down upon by others!

Meanwhile, Chen Qingdi continued on his way as if nothing had happened. His figure gradually disappeared deep into the forest, leaving behind only the sound of the wind and the worshipful gazes of a group of ants.

Shen Mingyue and her mother sat in the living room, listening to the sound of the rain outside, their hearts heavy.

"Mom, what do you think I should do?" Shen Mingyue asked, her head lowered.

"Sigh, Mingyue, you know our family’s financial situation. Without a solid financial foundation, it’s really not easy to find a suitable man," Shen Mingyue’s mother said with a sigh.

"But I don’t like Fang Jiahao. He’s that rich playboy type with a fleeting attention span. He used to pursue me relentlessly, and now he’s just completely disappeared," Shen Mingyue said with a frown.

"Mingyue, you can’t really blame him. Maybe he has something he needs to take care of, or maybe he’s just lost interest in you," her mother said comfortingly.

"Lost interest? Then why did he pursue me in the first place?" Shen Mingyue retorted.

"Well... I don’t know either. Maybe he just thought you were pretty, or that your family background was good," her mother said after a moment of thought.

"But I don’t think he’s someone I could entrust the rest of my life to," Shen Mingyue said, shaking her head.

"Then what do you want to do? This is our family’s situation right now. It’s not easy to find a suitable man," her mother said, a hint of helplessness in her voice.

"Mom, I think we can wait a little longer. Let’s not rush into marriage. Let’s just wait and see," Shen Mingyue said.

"Wait and see? How long are you going to wait? You’re not getting any younger. In a few more years, you’ll be thirty. It’ll be even harder to find a partner then," her mother said, sounding anxious.

"But I really don’t want to marry someone like Fang Jiahao," Shen Mingyue said, her brow furrowed.

"Alright, alright. If you don’t want to marry him, then don’t. We’ll figure something else out," her mother consoled.

The mother and daughter chatted for a while longer. The rain outside grew heavier. Shen Mingyue’s mother glanced out the window and said, "Oh my, it’s raining so hard, and I have a date tonight."

"A date? With who?" Shen Mingyue asked.

"With a gentleman a friend introduced me to. He heard I didn’t have much to do at home, so he asked me to meet at a coffee shop for a chat," her mother explained.

"Oh, really? Are you going to go?" Shen Mingyue asked.

"Of course I’m going. I can’t just stay at home all the time," her mother said.

"Well, be safe, then," Shen Mingyue reminded her.

"Okay, I know." With that, Shen Mingyue’s mother left the living room.

Shen Mingyue sat alone in the living room, lost in her own thoughts. She didn’t know which path her future would take. Although she disliked men like Fang Jiahao, she had no idea where to go from here.

She wanted to find a suitable man to spend her life with, but she was now discovering that it wasn’t so easy.

At this moment, she began to doubt if she could ever truly find a suitable man, because even a man like Chen Qingdi wasn’t necessarily a perfect match for her.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Shen Mingyue went to the door and opened it to find several people in black suits standing on her doorstep.

One of them showed his credentials and said, "Hello, we’re from the investigation team. We need to ask you some questions regarding an investigation."

Shen Mingyue was taken aback. "Investigate me? Have I done something wrong?"

"We just want to ask you a few questions. Please cooperate," another person said.

Shen Mingyue had no choice but to let them into the house. After the group sat down in the small living room, one of them began the questioning. "Excuse me, is your name Shen Mingyue?"

"Yes," Shen Mingyue replied.

"Then, do you know a person named Fang Jiahao?" the man asked again.
