During the grand banquet, Qin Xian undoubtedly became the center of attention, earning admiration and praise from all sides. Young, already possessing 9-star power, with a handsome appearance and noble grace—he was the living embodiment of everything people imagined a Holy Light Knight to be.

The noble ladies of the capital were especially enthusiastic, their affections clear.

As the newly appointed Duke of the Carpe Empire, Qin Xian’s treatment was impeccable. Whether it was to show respect or a way to win him over, the empire didn’t hold back—bestowing not just a noble title, but an estate and immense wealth.

In a single leap, Qin Xian had become one of the highest-ranking elites in all of Hydra.

This was the universal truth of every world in the cosmos: power reigns supreme. With power, wealth, status, and beauty all followed. Even the prideful elves, known for their aloofness, were moved by Qin Xian’s charisma, some even taking the initiative to express goodwill—a rarity for their race.

The humans, elves, and even the normally gruff and stubborn dwarves greeted him with smiles. The name “Soren” had quickly become the hottest name among the elite circles. It felt as if the entire world loved him. In just one night,

Qin Xian gained the friendship of nearly everyone, his popularity nearly rivaling that of Rosha himself.

Yet Rosha felt no jealousy—instead, he was genuinely happy for Qin Xian. In his eyes, Qin Xian was destined to be one of the key pillars in the fight against the Void.

The more Qin Xian integrated into Hydra, the more of his strength he could unleash. For Rosha, everything was about the greater good.

“Looks like everyone really likes Sir Soren,” Audrey said with a playful smile, holding a glass of wine as she stood beside Rosha.

They sat together in a corner, watching as Qin Xian dazzled at the heart of the banquet.

“Yes,” Rosha replied with a smile. “I was a bit worried the elves or dwarves wouldn’t take to him, but it seems I was overthinking it.”

Though the leader of Hydra, Rosha wasn’t the most social person. Truthfully, he didn’t particularly enjoy mingling with people.

“Rosha.” A sweet, soft voice suddenly rang out from behind him.

Rosha turned and saw a petite, adorable girl approaching. Her eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky, filled with a mysterious intelligence. Her hair shimmered like a flowing river of silver under the starlight, her presence graceful and otherworldly, like a young elven spirit.

“Lady Elia.” The nearby guests all smiled warmly and bowed politely. This little girl, named Elia, had a mysterious origin, but she was deeply cherished by Rosha, whom she called “brother.”

Elia’s kind and endearing personality earned her widespread affection throughout the Carpe Empire, and her status was extraordinary.

“Elia,” Audrey greeted her with a gentle smile, clearly fond of the girl. “Audrey sister!” Elia giggled, diving into Audrey’s arms playfully. The three laughed together, like a harmonious little family.

“I heard a demigod has arrived in Hydra?” Elia asked with curiosity.

Rosha nodded. “His power is incredible. With him here, our world has a little more hope. And more importantly…”

Rosha’s eyes gleamed with excitement. “His arrival means that the god behind him is paying attention to Hydra. I don’t know which deity it is, but if the gods are willing to act against the Void, then we truly have a chance.”

“I hope so,” Elia responded softly.

Though she appeared to be no more than eight years old, it was clear Rosha greatly valued her opinion. “Come, I’ll introduce you to Soren,” he said.

“Though he’s young, the Holy Light he commands is as pure as mine… perhaps even purer.” Rosha leaned closer and whispered, “Without your strength, I don’t think I could defeat him.”

Elia clung to his arm sweetly. “But you’re the one who has my power. You’re the hero I chose…”

Together, they approached Qin Xian.

Rosha introduced them. “Soren, allow me to introduce my sister—Elia.”

Elia looked up at Qin Xian, smiling sweetly and meeting his gaze.

And in that moment, her smile froze.

A chill gripped her heart.

From the depths of her soul, an overwhelming sense of danger surged.

She felt something terrible watching her—something ancient and cold, like a predator eyeing prey.

Her soul trembled.

For the first time in her life, Elia felt like a hunted creature… with nowhere to run.
