“What’s wrong?” Rosha asked with concern as he noticed Elia’s body suddenly go rigid.

Elia took a deep breath and forced a smile onto her face. “It’s nothing,” she replied, but when her gaze turned back toward Qin Xian, her eyes were filled with deep suspicion and unease.

She didn’t understand why, but whenever she looked at him, a terrifying sense of danger surged through her. It was as if he was her natural predator.

That oppressive, dreadful feeling—Elia had only experienced it once before. Many years ago, a projection of a Great Terror from the Void had briefly descended upon Hydra. Even though it was merely passing through, the impact was catastrophic.

Just its presence had corrupted entire regions of Hydra with void energy, birthing twisted races like beastmen, undead, and ratkin—creatures who have remained enemies of the orderly races to this day.

And now, this “Soren” gave her the exact same feeling.

A chill rooted in fear.

Could he be a Great Terror from the Void?

Elia quickly dismissed the thought. It wasn’t possible. The Seven Great Terrors of the Void were ancient, transcendent beings of devastating power. If one of them had truly descended, Hydra would’ve already been annihilated.

This Soren was young, clearly not a Great Terror. But even so, the aura he carried made her increasingly wary.

Could he… have a connection to the Void?

“You are truly beautiful, Lady Elia,” Qin Xian said with a soft smile, so warm and sincere that it melted the hearts of many noble ladies watching. They all wished those words had been directed at them instead.

Elia forced another smile. “Thank you for your kind words, Lord Soren.”

Then she asked carefully, “As a revered demigod, may I ask which deity your noble bloodline descends from?”

Rosha had already accepted Qin Xian’s identity, but Elia wanted to probe further. The contradiction gnawed at her—the Holy Light within Qin Xian was pure and radiant, yet he gave her a dreadful, predatory feeling. As someone highly sensitive to Void energies, her instincts were screaming.

Qin Xian’s eyes gleamed briefly as he looked at her, then smiled gently. “My parents’ names cannot be spoken, Lady Elia.”

Just as Elia felt overwhelming danger from Qin Xian, he, too, sensed something unusual about her. In his perception, her aura was exactly like the essence emitted by other world origins he had devoured in the past.

Could this little girl… be the physical manifestation of Hydra’s world origin?

As a Void Overlord, Qin Xian was extremely attuned to such a presence.

Elia said nothing more, nodding and falling into silence.

Qin Xian, on the other hand, seemed to pay her no further mind and resumed mingling with the crowd. Elves, dwarves, nobles—they all gathered around him as if drawn by his magnetic charm. His presence was disarmingly charismatic, making others naturally want to be near him.

By the end of the evening, the banquet was a resounding success. Through it, Qin Xian had fully integrated into Hydra’s high society, earning countless allies. On the surface, his fame was nearly on par with Rosha himself.

“You don’t seem to like Soren,” Rosha said softly as he led Elia by the hand back to his estate.

Though luxurious and grand, Rosha’s home wasn’t bustling with servants. Instead, it was occupied by only a few close companions—those who had followed him through trials and battles, loyal to the end.

Elia didn’t look surprised by the question. Her connection to Rosha ran deep, deeper than even his fiancée Audrey. The bond they shared was more than familial—it was spiritual, soul-bound. Rosha was her chosen one.

And no matter how well she had hidden her discomfort during the banquet, he had noticed her faint hostility toward Soren.

Elia lowered her gaze, hesitated for a moment, then admitted, “I… I don’t know why. I just don’t like him. For no reason at all…”

She paused, then said quietly, “But I feel like there’s a secret behind him… something he doesn’t want anyone to know.”
