Pervert for Life

Chapter 47: Deliberate Teasing

I chatted with my mom for a few more hours before eventually I we had lunch and I had to go and prepare for my date with may yuna.

As soon as I headed to my room to get dressed, Evelyn quickly grabbed hold of her tablet and opened her school website which only she had access to.

’May yuna huh...’ she muttered to herself, her brows furrowed as she inputed the name into the search tab.

Instantly, information about the girl appeared on screen.

’May yuna...’ she glanced at the girl with glasses.

Although she was pretty, she wasn’t as pretty as her... right? Right??

Evelyn continued staring at the image for a few more minutes before scrolling down some more to read details about the girl.

’A talented awakened with an s-rank ability. An introverted personality. She rarely talks to anyone... has a single mother who’s sick... hmmm... father is dead... aims to obtain a rare s-rank herb to cure her mother...’

She paused as she read that line.

’Aims to obtain a rare s-rank herb to cure her mother? Could that be the reason for her coming close to my son?’ Evelyn’s eyes flashed with killing intent as she made this guess.

She couldn’t stand the sight of someone using her innocent baby.

She scrolled back to the image of may yuna and stared at her for a few more minutes, as though she wanted to engrave her image in her mind.

After Evelyn was done she scrolled down and continued reading about the girl.

"Mom, how do I look?"

"Ah!" Evelyn hurriedly put her tablet down, startled to hear her son’s voice.

For a moment she genuinely looked as though she had been caught doing something bad.

She turned to glance at her son and for a moment she fell into a daze, not recognizing him anymore.

She turned to glance at her son and for a moment she fell into a daze, not recognizing him anymore.

Lucas stood at the entrance to the sitting room like the house itself had rearranged itself around him.

The boy who had eaten lunch with her an hour ago was gone.

In his place was a young man unlike any she had seen before.

He had dressed in black completely.

A tailored shirt sat close against the new width of his shoulders and the hard line of his chest, the top buttons left open just enough to show the clean column of his neck.

Sleeves rolled once to the forearm. Dark slacks cut sharp at the waist, falling clean over polished shoes that made no sound on the floor.

A thin chain rested against his collarbone. His hair was pushed back, still faintly damp, leaving his face bare.

He looked expensive. He looked dangerous. He looked like the kind of man other women lost sleep over.

Evelyn’s fingers tightened around the tablet in her lap.

Her eyes moved over him without permission, catching on the way the shirt pulled when he breathed, the way his hips sat in those pants, the easy stillness in his posture.

Her stomach tightened subconsciously as she stared at him.

"Well?" I asked. My voice was lower than it used to be, almost lazy.

I turned a little so she could see all of me, one hand sliding into my pocket with casual ease. "Too much?"

"You look..." Evelyn swallowed slightly, taking in the sight of her son as though she had never seen him before. "You look different."

I smiled. Seeing such a reaction on my mother made me understand that the time I spent building up a new look wasn’t all for naught.

"Different good?" I asked curiously, raising a brow.

"Good," Evelyn replied too quickly, then lowered her voice and said in a quieter tone, almost to herself, "Too good."

"Thanks mom," I replied with a smile. "May’s waiting," I informed her, "I should go."

Hearing may’s name Evelyn didnt know why but her stomach twisted in a knot of jealousy.

She wished she was the one her son dressed up so much for. She wanted her son to see her as more than just his mother.

However reality forced her to force back her emotions.

Forcing a smile she said, "Don’t stay out late," her voice came out softer than she meant it to, "And Lucas... that girl. Be careful with her."

Although I was confused as to why she said this I still nodded.

"I will, mom."

Of course I wasn’t really going to take her words to heart.

The system’s affection rating seemed genuine, and for may to be at 92, just below my mother who was at 93, it showed just how much she truly was obsessed with me.

Although I didnt know what she found interesting in me... I really am not complaining.

I waved my mother off. if I remained any longer she would just keep on staring at me.

Watching her son leave, Evelyn bit her lips slightly, she looked as though she wanted to say something, but ultimately couldn’t muster the courage to speak.

Her son finally vanished from her line of sight, closing the door behind him.

The moment he left she collapsed onto the chair, and slowly loosened her clenched fist.

...

I left the house and took a taxi to may’s house.

I discovered she had texted me her location. As for how she got my number I didn’t know.

’Weird I guess?’

I reached her house after some time.

She lived in a lower district, and the place seemed particularly foreign to me.

I glanced around to confirm I was in the right place before fully stepping in.

’Is she trying to kidnap or rob me? Or perhaps kill me?’ I glanced around a second time and hesitated to enter.

Off to the side a couple of guys were hurdled together, smoking and passing the two cigarettes they held around.

The air was filled with the stench of cigarette.

I could even vaguely hear moans coming Fromm somewhere closely.

’What kind of place is this? Is this where she grew up?’ I swallowed my discomfort and stepped inside.

The moment I stepped in, I attracted the gazes of the smokers, and a few barmen who were in a bar close by.

"What’s a rich pretty boy doing in the slumps?" One of the men holding a cigarette in his hand puffed out a ring of smoke and chuckled darkly with his other comrades.

"Can’t wait to find out." Another replied him, shrugging as he stood up.

I was already beginning to gather mana in my finger tips after determining that these men weren’t awakeners.

Fortunately, there was no need for that.

"He’s my boyfriend." A beautiful voice cut through the chatter and a graceful figure stepped into view.

"May?" One of the smokers rubbed his eyes as though he was seeing things, finding it hard to believe that it was the same girl who went to school everyday that looked this pretty.

"Oi, may, what happened to choosing one of us old men? You just had to go and find a pretty boy didnt you?" One of the smokers shook his head in regret, however it was clear that they were joking amongst themselves.

In the slumps they were family, they considered may their younger sister, understanding that I was her boyfriend they didnt make things difficult for me.
