Levi had no choice but to personally take some men and bring up the rear, ensuring no one got separated in the blizzard and became hopelessly lost in the vast, white world.

The group looked like Warriors from a bygone era, marching through wind and snow across a land where all life had withered.

The snow-draped High Cliff Castle was finally in sight. Levi stood atop the head of an enlarged Biefeng, giving him a high vantage point and a broad field of view.

If nothing else, the Lord had discovered a brilliant use for Biefeng’s size-altering Talent Magic.

When enlarged, its shoulder height reached dozens of feet. If it raised its head, it would tower even higher. Standing on its head, it was a perfect mobile watchtower.

Through his Mirror Tube, he saw a small figure in a thick cloak standing on the walls of High Cliff Castle, gazing north. A thick layer of snow had already collected on her cloak, suggesting she had been standing out there for a very long time.

The Lord himself had asked Lorina to buy that cloak, so he recognized the small figure as Baisitina at a single glance.

He couldn’t contain his excitement. "Full speed ahead!"

High Cliff Castle once again welcomed its true master.

The once-quiet High Cliff Castle burst into a flurry of activity, as if the excitement alone could chase away some of the biting cold.

"Levi, you’re finally back."

Baisitina stood at the castle gate, her hands clasped before her. Though she could hardly hide her excitement, she maintained her courteous posture.

"Tina, I’ll bet you missed your Lord to death!"

Levi vaulted off Biefeng and, in a single dash, swept Baisitina into his arms.

The Lord’s sudden embrace made Baisitina’s face flush crimson, like a ripe apple.

"Levi, there are so many people watching..."

She had just begun to speak when the Lord shot a look at his men. At once, they all started whistling and looking nonchalantly in other directions.

Zat, that oaf, even clasped his hands behind his back and began to solemnly critique a small, bare tree.

"Just say it. Did you miss your Lord or not?" Levi asked with a grin.

Baisitina gazed at the face she had longed to see return each day. Emotion overwhelmed her reason, and she whispered in a voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, "I did."

After speaking, she buried her head in the Lord’s chest, not daring to meet his teasing smile.

"Hahaha." Immensely satisfied, Levi finally let her go.

"This life on the campaign trail is brutal. Mier, especially—his feet stink to high heaven! The smell kept me up every night."

Levi immediately began to air his grievances.

"Brother-in-law..."

Mier, standing nearby, shot him a resentful look. ’Didn’t we agree you wouldn’t tell my sister about this?’

Baisitina just smiled, quietly listening to it all.

"And that lummox Zat—he snores like thunder! He shook half the snow off the tent every night."

The nearby Zat pretended not to hear, reaching back to scratch his rear. Words like that had long since lost the power to make him feel any shame.

"Lord, you’ve returned!"

Just then, with a wolf-like howl, Hog came galloping from the distance on his Warg Mount. The snow dusting his clothes proved he had just returned from patrol.

He leaped from his Warg Mount, an excited look on his face, and ran to his Lord.

"The little wolf cub who was once only waist-high to me is now almost taller than his Lord. How time flies."
