Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 275 - 217: Flexing the Muscles

"Keep coming, however many of you there are! I’d like to see what a bunch of cowards like you can really stir up!"

The Lord’s booming voice made the snowdrifts tremble and echoed across the noisy sky, instantly stirring a hornet’s nest.

Hearing this, the Knights on the sidelines who had been watching grew furious. They rolled up their sleeves and streamed toward the Lord, plunging the scene into utter chaos.

A single glance revealed a dense sea of people surging across the open ground, ferociously charging the men of High Cliff Castle who had formed ranks in the center. The light of Combat Qi even flickered on some of them. Without true skill, it would be impossible to stop this pack of absurdly fierce Beastmen and Centaurs, let alone the monstrous Lion Hunter Knight.

"Everyone, stop!" A sharp-looking Fulina rushed over in a frantic hurry, a whole train of nobles in tow, and let out a great shout.

Unfortunately, no one paid her any mind. The chaos raged on.

It wasn’t that they were disrespecting the Duke. The air was simply so thick with roars and wails that her voice alone could not possibly cut through the noise.

"Fujero, please handle this." Fulina massaged her temples, exasperated.

’She really hadn’t expected this Lion Hunter Knight to cause such a massive disturbance the moment he arrived.’

Fujero nodded. This was his fief, but with Fulina present, he naturally deferred to her, ceding his position of authority.

He waved his hand, and a squad of Guards in Iron Armor, wielding large clubs, charged forward in neat, intimidating formation to stop the brawl. But for all their swagger on the way in, they looked twice as pathetic on the way out. They came scrambling back even faster than they went in, their faces etched with panic.

The Lord had grabbed a flagpole as thick as a man’s thigh. With a roar, he ripped the massive wooden pole straight out of the earth, hefted it in his arms, and postured as if to swing.

Most of these Guards were veterans of the Thorn Corps, and they knew the Lion Hunter Knight’s strength better than anyone. If he hit them with that pole, there wouldn’t be a complete corpse left. Naturally, they weren’t about to rush headlong back into that.

The Knights closest to him were terrified by the horrifying display and immediately threw their hands up, squatting on the ground.

"Haha! A bunch of wimps!" Levi roared with laughter, tossed the flagpole aside, and dusted off his hands.

This infuriated Fulina. She clutched her chest, seething, and turned to the nobles beside her. "Control your own people!"

The nobles didn’t dare delay. They exchanged a look, and their bodies began to glow. Combat Qi of various colors erupted from them, transforming into spheres of pure Qi that converged in the air before suddenly exploding.

The resulting explosion was deafening. A shockwave immediately followed, whipping the snow from the ground and rooftops into a wild flurry.

The blast startled everyone, but it also shocked some sense back into them.

Levi gave a hand signal. While the other side was still dazed, he quietly led the men of High Cliff Castle to one side, creating a clear division, like black and white sesame seeds being sorted apart.

Having vented their pent-up energy, the Guard Knights belonging to the various nobles regained their senses. As they surveyed the messy scene before them, they began to feel deeply uneasy.

Northern People liked to solve problems with their fists. The great noble families didn’t just fail to discourage this tendency—they actively supported it, believing it helped their people maintain a fierce and valiant spirit.

This time, however, they had come as guests to the fief of the newly-promoted Baron.

Now, dozens of men lay moaning on the ground, and the rest were all injured to varying degrees. Every single one of them was wounded.

It was a total slap in the face to the Baron.

Not to mention, the man they had targeted was the recently famous Lion Hunter Knight. In Debei, disrespecting a True noble was punishable under the law; they could be dragged before a court of nobility.

Many of them didn’t even know how the fight had started; they had just jumped into the fray in a confused daze.

And no one knew that the two individuals who had sparked the initial conflict were long gone.

The nobles present swept their gazes across the field, their eyes filled with a mixture of shock and fury.

Both sides had clearly retained enough sense to prevent any deaths, but at least thirty percent of their men were now on the ground, moaning in agony.

What shocked the nobles was that the men lying on the ground were almost exclusively their hand-picked Guard Knights, men chosen for their exceptional martial prowess.

These Knights, who had cultivated Combat Qi, were no mere posers. Yet here they were, beaten and groaning on the ground, unable to even get back to their feet.

And what made them furious was that not only had a fight broken out, but their side had lost despite having overwhelming numbers. It was an utter disgrace.

By a rough estimate, their side had at least a hundred Knights combined—a full three times their opponents’ number. And yet, their numerical advantage seemed to have evaporated, and they had been brutally beaten by the other side’s iron fists.

Fortunately, there was one person from the opposing side on the ground—a Beastman, clutching his chest and rolling back and forth while howling in pain. His injuries appeared to be serious.

This allowed them to save a tiny sliver of face.

If they hadn’t managed to take down even one, it would have been like getting completely shut out despite a three-to-one advantage. They would never have been able to hold their heads high again.

The crowd gave Levi a long, hard look. They had assumed this Lion Hunter Knight was just a hero of circumstance, a fraud chasing unearned fame. They never expected him to have some real substance.

Hands in his pockets, Levi sauntered under the crowd’s scrutinizing gaze, calmly walking over to the Beastman on the ground and kicking him square in the butt.
