Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 277 - 218: Factional Strife"Haha, Count, we can discuss these topics later. For now, let’s tend to these good lads of mine."
Levi laughed, changing the subject. "While these injuries are nothing to them, we can’t just ignore them."
Admittedly, in this small-scale brawl against a larger group of Official Knights, this group of brawny men had achieved remarkable results. Almost none of them had been knocked to the ground, which had earned their Lord a tremendous amount of face.
But their opponents weren’t just some dime-a-dozen punks. These Official Knights, who cultivated Combat Qi, were by no means weak, especially since they outnumbered Levi’s side.
Some of the men from High Cliff Castle had also taken a serious beating and were now just toughing it out on their feet.
"Indeed. Sir Levi’s subordinates could be considered top-tier in all of Debei. To lose even one would be an intolerable loss," Count Luke said with deep empathy.
These Centaur Warriors and the incredibly strong Beastman Warriors were all from famously powerful combat Races. What was even more commendable was that Count Luke saw in them the one trait that determines whether an army can become a top-tier legion: discipline!
This trait was even more important than individual martial prowess.
Why couldn’t the Wilderness Races, whose individual prowess far surpassed that of humans, secure a foothold in this land? It was precisely because they lacked this most crucial element.
The glimpse of strength this Lion Hunter Knight revealed today, just the tip of the iceberg, proved to them that the rumors weren’t entirely baseless fabrications.
What was even more astounding was that a small, new Pioneer Territory reportedly had nearly a thousand of these warriors from various Races. For such a large assembly of elites to be completely and obediently under the command of the Lord of High Cliff Castle was incredible.
The caliber of this Lion Hunter Knight was truly immense!
Even a Count might not possess this level of military strength.
This caused Count Luke’s gaze to grow even more fervent.
Levi, however, felt a bit uncomfortable. ’Does this fat old man have some... peculiar hobbies?’ he wondered. ’After all, with my looks, I can easily charm both men and women.’
He quickly waved to take his leave. "My Lords, forgive me, but I have a small private matter to attend to. Once it’s resolved, I insist we have that long talk."
The two Counts weren’t annoyed. Now that this Lion Hunter Knight had flexed his muscles, he was worthy of their favor, even if he was only a Baron.
They both smiled as they departed, agreeing to get together for a few glasses of rum when the opportunity arose.
"Whew. Lord, we almost caused a huge disaster this time."
It was only then, as Si Kai watched the others leave, that he finally spoke.
When Fulina left just now, she had given him a pointed look, scaring him so badly his heart skipped a beat.
"Pfft."
When the Lord turned to look at him, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
The resolute-faced, burly, middle-aged Knight actually had a black eye.
"Old Si, you’re a Great Knight, for crying out loud. How’d you end up looking worse than my bunch of lunkheads?"
"Don’t get me started. My Combat Qi Cultivation may be deeper than those sons of bitches, but without using it, I’m only a bit stronger than them. I was outnumbered, and I got careless and took a punch."
Si Kai looked completely dejected. He touched his eye socket and immediately grimaced in pain.
’Sigh, what a mess this is...’
"Let’s head back for now."
Levi waved his hand, deciding not to tease him any further.
In any case, this Knight had ultimately gotten dragged into High Cliff Castle’s affairs.
The moment he stepped into the warm room, a pair of worried eyes looked his way, and small hands began frantically patting all over the Lord’s body.
"Levi, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t struck first, none of this would have happened." Baisitina’s eyes were a little red.
When she had heard those people insulting Levi, she couldn’t hold back and lashed out, never expecting it to spark a full-blown brawl.
"That bunch of punks needed to be taught a lesson, otherwise they’d really think High Cliff Castle is a pushover," Levi said, patting the little girl’s head to comfort her. "Besides, I’m perfectly fine, aren’t I?"
"Then what about..." Baisitina trailed off, looking at her Lord’s clothes, which seemed to have endured an unimaginably vicious assault.
"I have to admit, that group of Knights is really something else, leagues stronger than those punks from the Wilderness." The thought made Levi grind his teeth in irritation. He took a wool jacket from a Goat-man Maid and put it on, covering up his Linen Long Shirt, which was now in tatters.
Just as a swarm of ants, no matter how numerous, cannot shake a great tree, these Knights were no match for the Lord. But they were incredibly tenacious, charging forward wave after wave without any regard for their own lives. Ultimately, at the cost of their own bruised and swollen faces, they succeeded in tearing Levi’s... only undershirt to tattered rags, revealing glimpses of a perfect physique, like that of a marble statue.
"Buji! Buji!"
The little creature also circled Levi anxiously, puffing out its cheeks and repeatedly waving its tiny fists, as if wanting to avenge its Lord.
"With those little arms and legs of yours, you’d probably be done for the moment you joined the fray." Seeing the little creature instantly lifted Levi’s spirits.
He then asked her to help treat Si Kai, who was standing nearby.
At her "old father’s" command, she didn’t hesitate. A ball of green light emerged from her little hand and, with a gentle wave, shot toward Si Kai’s injured eye socket.
Si Kai felt a cool, soothing sensation replace the stinging pain in his eye socket. He rushed to the mirror in the room. The black-and-blue skin around his eye was visibly fading, returning to normal. He couldn’t help but exclaim in amazement, "Lord, this Magical Beast of yours is incredible! Its Magic almost rivals that of the Low Tier Clerics!"
