"It’s just a shame we couldn’t catch those three Casters."

Thinking of this, Andao was slightly disappointed.

"It’s normal to have gains and losses. Nothing in the world is perfect," Levi replied casually.

’To be honest,’ he thought, ’I could have ordered the warriors of High Cliff Castle to capture those Casters at the time. But since they could cast a powerful spell like summoning a Stone Giant, there was no guarantee they didn’t have other insidious tricks up their sleeves.’

He hadn’t sent anyone after them because he was afraid of losing his precious troops. By the time he dealt with the Stone Giant, they were long gone.

Still, Levi didn’t regret it. They were only three Casters; there would be other chances to catch them. But if these simple-minded brutes who had fought and bled alongside him were gone, they would be gone for good.

After the battle, no names were removed from the system panel, but a good thirty to forty were injured. Most of them were Beastman Barbarians who had been pushing the front line.

However, High Cliff Castle’s well-made Three-Layered Iron Armor meant they were only wounded, their lives not in danger.

Levi felt that these soldiers from Kalia, the so-called regular troops of the Southern Territory, hadn’t even performed as well as the Wilderness Alliance Army.

But he knew this was just an illusion. High Cliff Castle’s forces weren’t static; their strength had grown by an unknown amount since then.

In just a few months, the Low Tier soldiers who were generally Tiers Two and Three were now almost all Tier Five High Level Soldiers. He even had two Tier Six Berserkers.

And once the system soldiers’ levels and equipment were upgraded and they formed a sizable force, their advantage over ordinary people would be astonishing.

’Probably only a Knight Squad where every member cultivates high-level Combat Qi could inflict casualties on them.’

The gains from this battle were also gratifying. Three more Tier Five Beastman Giant Axe Guards from the Beastman Barbarians had been upgraded to Berserkers.

During the charge, Levi had paid close attention to the two lone Beastman Berserkers.

Their performance had made the Lord grin from ear to ear.

If the other Tier Five Beastman Giant Axe Guards were still just mob units who could only kill one person at a time, then the two Berserkers, relying solely on their own courage and strength, could cut down four or five enemies at the waist with a single mighty swing of their Giant Axes.

The Blood Qi they unleashed could knock down a whole swath of rabble, a truly god-like crowd-clearing skill.

Unfortunately, they usually wilted after just one use.

But this also showed the Lord the power of the Berserker, making him look forward even more to the hidden Tier Seven Soldier, the Dragon Vein Berserker.

He already had a few theories. He just had to wait for these Berserkers to accumulate enough experience for an upgrade to test them.

The Centaurs were also worth mentioning. Although they hadn’t participated in this battle, several months of training at High Cliff Castle had allowed some of them to level up.

Unlike the Barbarians, who were committed to a single melee path, the Centaurs had another option.

Their upgrade path started with Centaur Shepherds, then Centaur Hunters. From there, it split into two lines. The first was the Ranger Shooter path—Centaur Cavalry and Centaur Sun Chasers—which focused on superior mobility and archery.

The second path consisted of Centaur Gun Cavalry, Charging Heavy Centaur Cavalry, Centaur Iron-Treading Warriors, Centaur Conquerors, and finally, Storm Lionel.

They would be fully clad in heavy Iron Armor, similar to Heavy Cavalry. Although their mobility would decrease somewhat, their defense and charging power would clearly be elevated to an unimaginable level.

What surprised Levi even more was that these Centaurs, following the Beastmen and Jackal Wolfmen, were another unit type with a special Tier Seven Soldier path.

Having experienced the power of the Beastman Berserkers, he didn’t hesitate to develop all these Centaurs down the heavy cavalry path.

Gus’s Gale Race had a total of 1,500 tribesmen, with about 500 Bow Control Warriors remaining.

Most were Tier Two Centaur Hunters, with only about a hundred Tier Three Centaur Gun Cavalry.

After several months of training at High Cliff Castle, basically all of them had been upgraded to Tier Three Soldiers.

Combined with their own racial Talents, they were enough to hold their own in the realm of cavalry.

As a hero, Gus’s strength was on par with Zat’s. But with his Thunder Element, he made the simple-minded brute suffer his first defeat at the hands of someone other than the Lord.

Ever since then, Zat had been following the Lord around every day, hoping to learn a trick or two to settle the score.

"Leiden, go get people to clean up the spoils. Remember, tell them not to disturb the civilians. No looting!"

After a battle, the most important thing was naturally to collect the spoils. Levi waved his hand, directly ordering the Giant Goblin to the task and sternly laying down the bottom line.

Leiden nodded and led several Barbarians out of the castle.

"Levi, I never expected you to be so merciful to the weak. You truly live up to the name Lion Hunter Knight," Count Andao said with admiration, his opinion of the Lord of High Cliff Castle rising yet again.

"Merciful to the weak?" Levi shook his head. "In fact, morality and mercy have little to do with it. I just know that looting destroys a military’s discipline and pride. Once you start something like that, it’s hard to stop. I will absolutely not allow my soldiers to become another kind of bandit or robber!"

"Everyone knows looting ruins an army’s morale and discipline. But Levi, if other armies loot and yours isn’t allowed to, it will cause discontent and backlash among the soldiers," Count Andao said with a wry smile, looking utterly helpless.

It wasn’t just the rabble; quite a few nobler Knights and aristocrats also participated in the looting.

Unleashing the troops to loot after a hard-fought battle was a common practice in this society, and an important means of maintaining morale.

It let the grunts blow off steam and eliminate their inner agitation and anxiety.

"Discontent? If anyone has an opinion, I’ll slap them silly myself!" Levi said with a cold smile.

In reality, thanks to a Lord like him with such high Charm, his influence trickled down. His simple-minded brutes disdained bullying the weak; in their eyes, it was completely unbecoming of a Warrior.

Andao lowered his eyes, speechless. Recalling the Lion Hunter Knight’s earlier actions, he had to admit the man was right.

’Under this Baron’s command, probably not a single soldier would dare to openly defy a military order.’

’Not to mention, his subordinates already view the Lord of High Cliff Castle as one of the Gods. The fervor in their eyes could probably only be matched by a Knight Order raised by the Church.’

’This can’t be called loyalty anymore. Faith is probably a more fitting term.’

’This is an army that holds an intense faith in the Lion Hunter Knight!’

...

As the first to break into the Baron Castle, High Cliff Castle’s forces naturally took it for themselves without hesitation.

Four Beastman Barbarians stood guard at the main gate like metal statues.

A group of soldiers walked over from the distance, laughing and talking. After glancing around, a few of them stepped forward, preparing to enter.

But they were blocked by two Barbarians with their broad chests, sending them stumbling back three steps before they lost their balance and fell on their butts.

"Keep out!" the Beastmen sneered.

"On what grounds? You weren’t the only ones who took this town!"

"Fuck, you’re trying to hoard all the wealth in the castle, aren’t you?"

"These Beastmen are trying to take it all for themselves!"

The soldiers all glared angrily.

They admitted this unit that had appeared from nowhere was indeed fierce, but they had also contributed to taking the town.

After every battle, their commanders would let them act freely, allowing them to loot to their hearts’ content.

The poor commoners had no riches to speak of, so the Baron Castle, being the wealthiest place, naturally became their target.

"There are only four of them! I don’t believe they can stop us!"

Someone shouted, and the hundred or so soldiers gathered there, blinded by greed and their perceived advantage, drew their blades with a SHIING.

"Brothers! Some little punks are bullying us, acting like High Cliff Castle is empty!" one of the Beastman Barbarians immediately howled.

THUD THUD THUD!

The sound of uniform footsteps thundered, shaking the very ground.

A squad of murderous Heavy Armored Orc Infantry suddenly surged around the corner, a dark, overwhelming mass. They held their Giant Axes before them, their cold gazes sweeping over the soldiers’ necks.

It was as if they were just waiting for a single trigger to charge.
