With one sword thrust, Xu Huo quickly rolled to dodge an attack from behind, zipping around a corner into the next corridor in the span of a second.

But every corridor led to another corridor. The entire Four-Square Palace was like a labyrinth shaped like a nested "hui" character—an endless loop that couldn’t be broken from the outside…

He turned his gaze to the doors spaced at intervals along the hall, picked one at random, and kicked it open. But from inside, an endless stream of corpses came tumbling out. The stench of decay mixed with unrecognizable body parts clogged the doorway so completely that there was no room to move!

But every corridor led to another corridor. The entire Sifang Palace was like a maze shaped like the Chinese character for "return"—an endless loop that couldn't be broken from the outside…

At the same time, the monster chasing him extended countless tentacles, clawing toward him. The wooden floor twisted unnaturally, and writhing eyeballs surged around him!

The Swallowtail blades sliced through the corridor, raising barriers of sharp rays all around. The monster’s tentacles snapped one after another, but new ones always grew to replace them. In no time, the hallway was crammed with grotesque, twisting creatures!

Xu Huo was forced to retreat again, momentarily unsure if what he was seeing was real or all just an illusion.

But even if some of it was real, not all of it could be. Expressionless, he clicked the lighter open and shut, setting fires without any restraint!

Though the Sifang Palace itself wouldn’t burn, the piled-up corpses inside the rooms were a different story. The rotting gases ignited instantly, triggering repeated explosions within the palace’s confines.

It drove him to the foot of a staircase leading to the upper floor. He knew this trick all too well—going up another level would only amplify the dungeon’s mental influence on him. No way was he climbing those stairs!

*Crackle-crackle!* White stairs sprouted from beneath his feet, spiraling downward. But before he could step onto them, a single eye forced its way out from the edge of the staircase, bulging and staring at him, threatening to burst at any second!

His expression shifted. Xu Huo immediately shut down his Mental World. Just as he predicted, the bulging eye exploded. Even at a distance, he felt a needle-sharp chill pierce through him!

The monster behind him was closing in again. Without hesitation, he activated the Absolute Safety Distance and leaped straight into the sea of flames.

This item lasted three minutes, shielding him from the fire as he crossed through the burning room to the other side. But even there, there was no way out.

Since ordinary items couldn’t damage the Sifang Palace, Xu Huo had no choice but to pull out the energy cannon again. Just as he hoisted it onto his shoulder, every window in the room burst open with a series of *bang-bang-bang*s, revealing the corridors and stairs outside!

Raising an eyebrow, Xu Huo followed the stairs down to the first floor.

But the Dungeon Boss wasn’t about to let him off easily. The monster’s tentacles followed him down the stairs, and massive axes flew through the air, slashing dangerously across his body and leaving several deep wounds!

*BAM!* Taking a direct hit from an axe, Xu Huo braced himself as the Crimson Sword—pressed against his chest by the overwhelming force—sent him flying from one end of the hall to the other. The axe then sliced clean through a wooden pillar beside him, tearing it apart entirely as it dragged across!

"Demolishing your own place? Thinking of moving somewhere else?" Xu Huo glanced at the water pouch wrapped around his arm—already burst. He looked at his now-healing wound, then at the puddle of liquid on the floor. Timing the gaps in the tentacle movements, he slammed through a crack in the palace’s gate!

He tumbled across the ground before steadying himself, kicking away a person lunging at him. Standing up, he saw that outside the Sifang Palace had become a veritable hell on earth!

Everyone who hadn’t been consumed by the flames crowded before the palace. Players and non-players alike, they all held corpses or people they’d just killed with their teeth, devouring them like wild beasts. Blood flooded the stone tiles in front of the palace, littered with the severed limbs of children…

Xu Huo’s brow furrowed deeply. Gripping the energy cannon, he pulled out all the Energy Plates Bai Kou had given him and unleashed a relentless barrage at the Sifang Palace!

The first blast shattered the fragile gate, reducing two Black-Armored Soldiers to scraps. Next came the giant eye at the center of the hall, the room behind it, and the monster descending from the second floor!

The powerful explosions nearly tore through the entire first floor of the Sifang Palace. In an instant, not only were no new monster tentacles spawning, even the Red Light inside the palace could barely hold. But Xu Huo felt it wasn’t enough. He hurled all the accelerant he had left into the flames!

After the blast came a raging inferno. The chaos before the palace temporarily subsided. But the survivors hadn’t regained their sanity. They dropped their gruesome meals and surged toward Xu Huo. The remaining Black-Armored Soldiers flanked him from both sides, trying to drive him back into the palace.

Xu Huo prepared to leave, but then something suddenly seized his shoulders, hoisting him into the air. A moment later, several tentacles burst through the second-floor windows, striking toward him like lightning!

The Painting Woman, hidden in his clothes, shoved him aside, sending his body swinging forward to dodge the attack. The tentacles missed him but pierced through the crowd instead, yet they didn’t withdraw. Like drinking straws, they sucked the flesh and blood out of their victims!

The Universal Lubricant couldn’t remove the item stuck to him. Xu Huo flicked the piano wire upward, snagging it around his head—and caught a nearly invisible metallic thread!

"Lift my hand!" Realizing the wire was about to fling him back into the Sifang Palace, Xu Huo immediately commanded the Painting Woman!

The paper-formed woman slid her hand into his sleeve, forcibly raising his arm above his head. With a swipe, the Life Core’s effect instantly powdered the two metal threads. Xu Huo was thrown by the momentum, crashing onto the outer eaves of the palace’s second floor!

The tentacles were still feasting wildly. Xu Huo rose to his feet on the broken tiles, his eyes cold and fixed on the eyes moving in the second floor’s darkness.

Using items to play god. Building an entire new city to buffer the time before facing players. Deploying mechanical soldiers to guard the floors and kill… All of it, just to eat people!

He knew all too well—there was no second stroke of luck that would destroy the dungeon. The dungeon wouldn’t collapse. He was no match for the Sifang Palace’s boss. And from the look of things, clearing early wasn’t likely either.

Still, the palace was a quarter destroyed, and plenty of buildings outside had burned down. The dungeon’s mental interference would surely be weakened. If he also took care of the metallic threads controlling people’s bodies, the dungeon could basically be wrapped up.

Reactivating the Murmuring Sphere, Xu Huo stood before the window and called inside, "Shared Eyes is harder than any D-rank dungeon I’ve done before. This place should’ve been upgraded long ago!"

"Hiding in the Sifang Palace and sneaking around eating people—are you scared that if you upgrade, high-level players will come and blow your nest sky-high?"

Hearing a few sharp *whoosh*es from inside, he instantly leaped back, slashing through the flying tentacles, and taunted, "You dare come out?"
