and ultimately lost to its opponent.

Articuno had been forcibly subdued through sheer strength.

Shouldn't it possess at least some pride and dignity?
Shouldn't a Legendary have the courage to fight until the end instead of immediately fleeing when things became dangerous?

Articuno's blue Sheer Cold beam descended.

it failed to freeze the white mist!
Instead...
something completely unexpected happened.
The white mist surged upward along the beam.
And then...
it actually began freezing the blue Sheer Cold beam itself!
Impossible!
Everyone who witnessed the scene was completely stunned.
How could this possibly happen?!
Sheer Cold was one of the most terrifying Ice-type moves in existence.
Ordinary Ice-type Pokémon weren't even capable of using it.
And once it was successfully unleashed...
the tremendous Ice-type energy contained within it could instantly freeze a Pokémon that came into contact with it.
Its HP would immediately drop to zero!
An instant knockout!
That alone was enough to show just how terrifying the move was.
It could absolutely be considered one of the ultimate trump cards of the Ice type.
And yet now...
they were being told...
that such an absurdly powerful Ice-type move...
had actually been frozen by another Ice-type attack?!
How was that possible?!
It was a sight none of them could have imagined...
not even in their wildest dreams.
And yet...
today...
it was happening right before their eyes!
But!
This wasn't even the end!
An even more astonishing sight followed immediately afterward!
Once again...
everyone's understanding of what should be possible was about to be shattered.
