Previously, whenever the six Digimon unleashed attacks of this magnitude...
Even Mewtwo had found them troublesome.
It had been forced to use Protect in order to avoid taking damage.
But!
This time...
Faced with a concentrated barrage from all six opponents surrounding it...
Mega Mewtwo Y unexpectedly chose not to do that.
The long appendage extending from the back of its head flicked lightly.
Its tip touched the surrounding space.
Ripples suddenly spread outward as though the very fabric of space itself were trembling.
Then...
Pink Psychic energy instantly filled the surrounding area.
A moment later, that energy became extraordinarily dense.
It gathered around Mega Mewtwo Y's body...
Forming a pale-pink circular barrier.
Every incoming attack was effortlessly blocked.
And unlike Protect, this barrier didn't simply shatter after taking the attacks.
It behaved more like a flexible wall.
The tremendous force of the attacks pushed it inward...
Causing its surface to deform.
Yet throughout that process...
The barrier continuously weakened the power behind each attack.
Until eventually...
Every last bit of destructive force was completely neutralized.
Was this...
The ultimate application of Psychic power?
Shiko unconsciously raised his assessment of Mewtwo another level.
Compared with those beings who wielded divine authority and possessed astonishing godlike power...
When it came purely to controlling and manipulating energy...
Mewtwo possessed the greatest technical mastery Shiko had witnessed so far.
Rosemon and the others on the battlefield also began looking increasingly serious.
They could clearly sense that after Mega Evolving, their opponent's combat strength had undergone a qualitative leap.
But they hadn't expected the increase to be this enormous.
It had almost reached the point where they could no longer compete with it directly.
However...
After that first exchange...
They seemed to notice one possible weakness.
Ever since entering its Mega form, Mewtwo had relied entirely on energy-based attacks.
It hadn't launched a single physical attack against them.
Before Mega Evolution...
Mewtwo had been equally capable of fighting physically and using powerful special attacks.
But now...
Its fighting style had clearly shifted heavily toward long-range energy attacks.
It had gone from being a mixed attacker...
To a pure special attacker.
If that was the case...
Then it indirectly suggested something else.
After Mega Evolution...
Its physical strength and bodily capabilities likely hadn't improved much.
Perhaps...
They might even have declined.
