Mewtwo was right in front of them...

They would definitely deal it a devastating blow!

It could switch between those two forms so freely in the middle of battle.

Mewtwo's original form had been capable of fighting as a mixed attacker.
Its two Mega forms had simply taken those two aspects of its combat ability and strengthened them separately.
