Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Elekid

Julian and Cynthia’s dance directly heated up the atmosphere of the bonfire party.

Everyone went wild, dancing together until around midnight before finally falling asleep.

When Julian woke up at seven the next morning and checked the ingredients while making breakfast, he discovered that the supplies had already been mostly consumed.

Originally, he had planned to go down the mountain after lunch. Now, they might have to go down the mountain for lunch instead.

At the table, Julian said, "Maylene, don’t fish later. Come with me to search for ingredients. You came up the mountain to learn wilderness survival knowledge."

Caitlin’s eyes lit up.

"Searching for fresh ingredients? That sounds interesting. I want to join too!"

Cynthia said, "Then why don’t all of us go look for ingredients together?"

Caitlin’s eyes narrowed.

"Then you and Julian can be one group. Maylene, Paul and I will be one group. Let’s see who finds more ingredients!"

Julian reminded them, "Make more use of Pokémon’s sharp sense of smell to search for food. Riolu and Stufful are both Pokémon with very developed senses of smell and are good at finding food."

Maylene turned around to Riolu and Stufful, who were enjoying their Pokémon food.

The appearance of this electricity represented that the electricity stored inside Elekid had already reached its limit.

Elekid walked to the clearing.

Elekid grinned. Bright yellow lightning flickered around his fist as he met Sirfetch’d’s slash.

The instant his fist touched the leek longsword, Elekid’s expression changed.

A vast, overwhelming force came crashing down, directly crushing Elekid.

Elekid rolled backwards in a sorry state until he struck a large tree and finally stopped.

"Throat Chop!"

The leek longsword was wrapped in pitch-black energy, stabbing towards Elekid like a meteor from beyond the heavens.

Elekid had only just steadied himself against the tree. He gritted his teeth, and a wild yellow lightning dragon burst out from his body, charging fiercely towards Sirfetch’d.

The leek longsword pierced through the lightning dragon and knocked Elekid flying again.

Elekid landed in a sorry state. His trembling arms could no longer support his body enough to stand.

That white-feathered duck opposite him was so strong!

Even when he was filled with electricity, he was actually still not his opponent.

Julian smiled.

"Elekid, according to our agreement, we’ll pick some Berries. You don’t have a problem with that, right?"

Elekid finally managed to stand up and nodded while swaying.

"Bii!"

Elekid was not the kind of Pokémon that could not accept losing. Since he had lost, he would honour the wager.

Julian went into the Berry orchard and picked some ripe, fresh Berries.

Then he returned to Elekid’s side, took out Potion and said, "I’ll treat you a little."

Julian sprayed Elekid with Potion. Elekid shuddered, then felt his wounds become cool and soothing.

Julian then took a tin of Pokémon food from his backpack, placed it in front of Elekid, and opened it.

"I picked your Berries, so I’ll give you some food too. Try the taste."

Elekid grabbed a handful and stuffed it into his mouth, nodding continuously in satisfaction.

"Through that exchange just now, I noticed your lower-body strength is a little lacking. You can hold rocks and do running and jumping training."

Julian pretended to hold a rock and demonstrated the training movements for Elekid.

Elekid copied him, following Julian and learning.

He could not wait to become stronger.

Julian smiled and shook his head. Cynthia looked at Elekid running while holding the rock and said:

"Julian, you want to catch this Elekid, don’t you?"

Julian nodded.

"That’s right. Having an Electric-type Elekid is very necessary for someone like me, who mainly raises Fighting-type Pokémon."

Cynthia stroked Eevee.

"Why not catch him directly?"

Julian smiled and said, "Elekid has put effort into this Berry orchard. If I take him away just like this, Elekid will definitely be unhappy."

After planting Berries several times in simulations, and at most seeing the seeds sprout, Julian could best understand how reluctant Elekid would be to leave this Berry orchard.

Cynthia nodded.

"Build a bond with Elekid little by little. When the bond between you and Elekid surpasses this orchard, that will be the time for you to catch him."
