Silence fell over the examination room.

Yu Zhizhi sat on the soft white chair, her hands clutching the hem of her clothes. A flicker of panic crossed her eyes. The physician’s tone was so firm that no one would doubt his diagnosis.

A look of astonishment appeared on Buli’s face. He had noticed Miss Rabbit looked haggard and simply thought she was feeling unwell. He never would have considered this possibility.

’She’s actually...’

’Pregnant?’

She had been in the Deep Sea Empire for less than a month.

’Is this the Fertility of an S-Class female?’

’During this time, Miss Rabbit has been with Prince Yusen, so this baby... it must be the Prince’s, right?’

"Pregnant?" After a long moment, Shen He finally spoke, his voice heavy. "Are you certain?"

His gaze fell upon the little female. Seeing her fidgeting uneasily, he couldn’t help but glance at her flat stomach.

’There’s a new life growing in there?’

For a fleeting moment, Shen He wondered if she might be carrying his child.

But then he remembered that night at the Blue Tone—he had taken precautions.

He had never planned on having children.

And he certainly didn’t want to get entangled with her.

From the day he decided to bring her back to the Deep Sea Empire, his intention was to deliver her to Yusen.

The middle-aged physician was absolutely certain. "I am sure of it, Lord Shen He. I would stake my entire professional honor on it. There is no doubt about this diagnosis. Healing Officer Miss, congratulations."

Panic fluttered in Yu Zhizhi’s heart. She hadn’t figured out how to tell Shen He.

Shen He asked, "Is there anything else?"

The middle-aged physician paused for a moment before quickly replying, "The Healing Officer Miss is in good health, though she seems a bit weak, likely from a lack of rest. If she eats more nutritious food, she’ll recover quickly."

"Mm," Shen He nodded. His gray eyes were cold and deep, betraying little emotion. "You may all leave now."

The middle-aged physician was taken aback for a second, then bowed and excused himself.

Buli, who had been standing outside, gently closed the door.

With their departure, Yu Zhizhi grew even more nervous. She barely dared to look up at the Big Shark standing before her.

"Lord Shen He..." she called out softly.

The long silence that followed made her even more anxious.

Steeling herself, she stood up. Just as she was debating whether to tell him the truth, the man’s voice came from above her. "...Whose child is it?"

Although Shen He was fairly certain it was the Mermaid’s baby, he still asked.

The man’s voice was calm and steady, but Yu Zhizhi was a nervous wreck.

She stammered for a long time.

Her thoughts were a jumbled mess. Perhaps it was because Shen He always seemed so difficult to get along with, and besides, the Deep Sea Empire and Varolan were enemies.

’He probably doesn’t want me to be pregnant.’

Seeing how the little female struggled to speak, Shen He became even more convinced that this must be an heir of the Mermaid Clan.

He chuckled. "It’s Yusen’s, isn’t it?"

It was like a lifeline.

’Just get this over with quickly.’

Yu Zhizhi slowly nodded.

Shen He’s heart felt as if it had been suddenly torn, and a bitter feeling began to spread—

’They’ve really gotten back together, and they already have a child on the way so soon.’

’It seems the two of them have been getting along very well lately.’

’Inseparable.’

’No wonder Yusen insisted on bringing the little rabbit with him to Chelsea Territory, refusing to be parted from her for a moment.’

Yu Zhizhi couldn’t guess what the Imperial Marshal was thinking. She lowered her head, her rabbit ears drooping slightly.

Shen He averted his gaze from the little female’s face.

"Congratulations."

The man’s voice was deep and cold, carrying none of the warmth of a congratulation.

He gave the little female one last look, then turned and walked out.

’Let it be.’

’Since the little rabbit has gotten back together with Yusen, just as he’d expected, their marriage is now a sure thing.’

’She’ll stay in the Deep Sea Empire forever.’

’To bear children for the Mermaid Clan.’

’This is the best possible outcome.’

Buli was waiting at the door. When he saw Lord Shen He emerge with a dark look in his eyes, he couldn’t help but glance back at Miss Rabbit inside the room.

After the Big Shark left, Yu Zhizhi breathed a sigh of relief.

She looked up at the doorway, her eyes meeting Buli’s.

Buli smiled at her.

His lips moved—

Congratulations.

After mouthing the word, he hurried after Lord Shen He.

Miss Rabbit was pregnant; this was certainly a joyous occasion. On the Beast World Planet, procreation was the most important thing of all.

After leaving the room, Yu Zhizhi asked a nurse, who told them to wait comfortably in the ward, and that a meal would be brought to them.

She returned to the hospital room.

She had originally planned to hide the pregnancy until she gave birth, but it had been discovered by accident, and in her panic, she had nodded. Now, Lord Shen He thought it was a Mermaid Baby.

Yu Zhizhi called out apprehensively, "...Prince Yusen."

This was the third day of Yusen’s hospital stay. His body seemed to have "recovered," and aside from a slightly pale complexion, he was already out of bed, talking with the Black-clothed Steward by the floor-to-ceiling window.

Seeing her return, the Steward from the Undersea Palace smiled faintly. "Your Highness, I’ll go take care of matters then. You should spend more time with the one by your side."

After he left, Yu Zhizhi walked over to Yusen. She hesitated for a long time before slowly beginning, "I have something to tell you..."

’I have to tell him as soon as possible. I can’t hide this from Yusen.’

"I know," Yusen said, a hint of sourness in his tone. "I received the news a moment ago."

The Mermaid Youth’s gaze fell on the little female’s abdomen. "For your safety, after you left the Blue Tone, I went to find that Blue Shark."

And then...

Yusen found out everything.

At first, he didn’t understand why Shen He had suddenly prepared to announce his intention to ask for the Rabbit Clan female’s hand in marriage during the Sea-Honoring Ceremony.

Once he learned what happened that night at the Blue Tone, Yusen realized he had underestimated the depravity of that Great White Shark.

And now, the little rabbit was pregnant with a shark’s baby.

Although Yusen’s heart ached with bitterness, he was prepared. "If you don’t want to say anything, I won’t tell him either. Don’t worry about when the baby is born. I will negotiate with him."

’Just let the Great White Shark think the little rabbit is carrying a Mermaid Baby.’

He was going to Chelsea Territory, and he absolutely could not leave her behind alone in the Deep Sea Imperial City.

’When the baby is born, I’ll take care of everything.’

Yu Zhizhi hadn’t expected Yusen to already know about the baby, and about her and...

...Shen He.

Hearing Yusen’s words, she felt as if she had gained infinite Strength. No matter what, Yusen was always on her side.

Her eyes grew warm. She stepped forward and slowly embraced the Mermaid in front of her.

Burying her face in Yusen’s chest, Yu Zhizhi whispered, "Thank you, Sensen."

Sensing the little rabbit’s affection, Yusen leaned in and kissed her on the forehead.

’This is good enough.’

’As long as she’s by my side, that’s all that matters.’

Outside the room, a knock came at the door. "Your Highness, Lady Natalia has arrived."

Yu Zhizhi felt Yusen’s body stiffen slightly.

She looked up. "Lady Natalia?"

’That name is so unfamiliar.’

The color drained from Yusen’s face. "...My mother."
