The first time they met, Jest had just won a duel against a Sword Immortal who, over the years, had bragged that he was undisputed at the Sword Immortal Stage.

Many tried to defeat him but failed, except for Jest, who was already widely known as the Genesis Swordsman. He defeated him in less than five moves.

This caused Jest’s fame to skyrocket. However, that day, he also met someone whose understanding of the sword was deep and sharp.

The Blood Ancestor was known as Blood Eye Blade back then. They clashed in a fierce battle, one that caused an entire forest and the surrounding mountains to crumble to the ground. The battle was legendary.

However, Jest won, and despite sensing the Blood Ancestor’s killing intent during their battle, he spared him and left. Years later, they met again, and just like the first time, the Blood Ancestor attacked him.

Yet again, he was defeated by Jest.

It happened a third time, leading to his third defeat.

However, years later, someone issued a death match against Jest. Initially, he had planned not to go, but when word started to spread that he was afraid of a death match, something that had started to tarnish his reputation, he accepted the duel, and that was the first time he killed the Blood Ancestor.

However, 100 years after he had killed him, the Blood Ancestor returned, and ever since then, whenever they met, they fought, and Jest always ended up killing him.

It continued for thousands of years until Jest eventually lost interest in fighting him, since he had more pressing issues.

The last time they met, Jest defeated him, and he could have killed him for good. However, for some reason, he let him go.

Today, the Blood Ancestor had returned for revenge, thinking he would finally be able to defeat Kent and wash away the shame he had carried for years.

Unfortunately for him, the one who defeated him wasn’t even the person he had come after. It was plain disrespect, and when he thought he had finally reached the end of the line, he was spared, leaving him confused and humiliated.

Regardless, he had no idea what to do after such a defeat.

But seeing that no one was paying him any attention, after standing there for a few minutes, he opened the portal he had come through and left, not knowing what to think.

Maybe he would return again, asking for another beatdown, or maybe he would change his ways and finally come to terms with his defeat. Regardless, Han had brought him down a peg.

The battle grew even more chaotic for a couple more hours before things eventually calmed down. The tide of the Dark Fiends had died down considerably, causing the pressure on everyone to lessen a bit.

Meanwhile, on the other planets, some battles had come to an end, while others were still raging on, especially the ones taking place in the God Realms.

But while all this was happening, somewhere in the Celestial Realm, a woman clad in a red gown, with flowing red hair, stood atop a small hill overlooking a lineup of heavily armored warriors, each clad in metallic red armor.

The weakest among them were Demigods, and they numbered in the tens of thousands. The rest were Gods and Supremes, with about 5,000 Celestials and five Pseudo-Primordials.

The woman herself was a Primordial, known to all who were familiar with the Blood Temple as the Blood Empress.

She was one of the few people in the universe whom everyone knew not to mess with. Even the Celestial Supreme dared not provoke her.

The last thing he wanted was to incur her wrath.

It was said that, aside from the Soul Temple, the next cult to fear was the Blood Temple. Of course, many also said that the Blood Temple, like the Soul Temple, was an evil organization.

In a way, they were right, for people who cultivated blood generally did so by devouring the blood of the innocent. So the Blood Temple was branded an evil cult.

But in truth, they weren’t as evil as the Soul Temple, nor were they all rainbows and sunshine like the Divine Temple claimed they were.

They existed in the gray zone, and that alone made them an organization filled with powerful people whose loyalty nobody truly knew.

But one thing was certain. Unlike the Soul Temple, at least they were not looking to collude with outside forces to dominate the universe.

The Blood Temple had two leaders: the Blood Empress and the Blood Emperor. Most of the affairs were handled by the Blood Emperor. But the Blood Empress wasn’t inactive either.

She had her fair share of missions, and today, one had fallen into her lap from an unknown source.

"Listen up," her voice spread across the space, causing every murmur to die down.

"I have received word from a very reputable source that a major family in the universe has betrayed us all. They have colluded with the Dark Empress, who, as many of you are aware, was the true leader of the Dark Creatures that nearly destroyed the universe during the Dark Era.

"From the reports, the Jian Great Family has been keeping her alive and supplying her with resources for years. Naturally, that is something unforgivable, so we are being given the chance to exterminate them down to the last one in return for good karma and cultivation resources.

"Now, I don’t have to stress how important this mission is. If we can bring them to justice, we will naturally gain good karma, and as we all know, good karma means good luck. So everyone should give it their all and, most importantly, stay alive."

"Yes, Blood Empress!"

"Good. Now, you all can collect your mission tokens from the outpost before heading out. This time, I will personally escort everyone, so know that I will be watching."

They quickly dispersed and moved toward the outpost to collect the mission tokens they had been assigned.

Meanwhile, the Blood Empress looked to her left, where a lone figure with bruises around his left eye and a few cuts here and there stood, wearing a gloomy expression.

"Long day?" the Blood Empress asked, a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.

The Blood Ancestor turned to look at her and scoffed. "Stay away from me, Big Sister. I am not happy right now."

The Blood Empress finally laughed and walked toward her little brother, whom she had lived with since the Divine Era.

"I take it your rival is back, and judging by the bruised eye, things didn’t end well for you."

The Blood Ancestor said nothing, which told the Blood Empress everything she needed to know.

"Sorry, little brother. I know you truly wanted to defeat him, but we both know he isn’t someone to look down on. I myself have crossed swords with him before, and while it was just to test the waters, he was someone I knew could not be defeated easily.

"So losing to him is only natural."

"I didn’t lose to him. Rather, I lost to one of his subordinates. I believe you are aware of that lonely swordsman rumored to possess the strongest Sword Domain after the Genesis Sword Domain."

"The Grim Sword?" the Blood Empress asked, her brow furrowing.

"Yes, him. I lost to him in the most humiliating way possible." The Blood Ancestor gritted his teeth and added, "He dismantled my moves as though I were a child. Honestly, I am spent, so I will probably enter seclusion for a few thousand years to calm my heart."

The Blood Empress said nothing, but the expression on her face turned solemn.

"Where did this happen?" she asked.

"On the planet where the Dark Empress had been living. Oh, they were the ones who killed her, so if you want to find out who sent you the mission, maybe go there, I am sure they also recieved the same mission."

The Blood Ancestor vanished from sight, entering seclusion a few minutes later.
