Primordial Red Goblin

Chapter 103: An Immense Aura

I climbed into bed and was immediately ambushed by six naked women as they pushed me onto my back.

The next morning Lisa and Erin were sitting next to me and Ginger was sitting on the edge of Lisa’s bed. After my morning routine with my women I got up and got dressed.

"Lisa and Erin, you need to stay here until I get back. Ginger and I will be going alone." I said.

"Be careful." Lisa said.

"Ginger, put on the combat gear I bought you." I said.

Ginger took off her nightgown and put on her new gear and we left the house.

"No matter what happens in there don’t leave my side. If things get physical get behind me." I said as we walked.

"Yes sir." She replied.

We entered the arena and Ginger led me to her father’s office.

"Hello Ginger, what can I do for you?" Asked the secretary.

"I need to speak to my father. Immediately." She said.

"Let me see if he is busy." The secretary said as she got up and went into the office.

After five minutes the secretary returned and waved us in. Inside the office was a Fox-kin man sitting at a desk near the back wall.

"Ginger, why aren’t you at your post?" He asked.

"Because they found someone hunting orcs and he got too close to the outpost so they attacked him. He killed them. All of them. By himself." She answered.

Her father stood up.

"What? Who was it?" He asked angrily.

Ginger looked at me.

"It was me." I answered.

He looked at me and ground his teeth.

"Who do you think you are? Killing my men and then walking into my office?" He asked.

"And you, what were you thinking bringing him here." He shouted at Ginger.

I took one step forward.

"Don’t speak to her, speak to me. I want to know why your people keep attacking me." I asked.

"What? Don’t tell me not to speak to my own daughter." He shouted.

Then he looked at Ginger.

"Get over here right now. You will pay for this." He growled through clenched teeth.

Ginger didn’t move.

"I said get over here right now. Move your ass." He shouted.

Ginger didn’t move.

"Your daughter was a member of the group that attacked me. I spared her life, now she belongs to me. She only follows my orders now." I said as I pointed at Ginger’s collar.

"You dare enslave my daughter? The daughter of an associate of the family?" He shouted.

"Yes. What are you going to do about it?" I asked.

He pulled a dagger from his ring and lunged at me. Before he could reach me I punched him square in the teeth with my gauntlet and he flew backward into the wall.

"Please stop dad. He’s too strong." Ginger begged.

He pulled himself off the floor and glared at me.

"What do you want? A ransom?" He scowled.

"No. She is mine and I’m keeping her. What I want is answers." I replied.

"Yours? Keeping her?" He growled.

"Yes. Mine. Now I have questions and you have answers." I said.

"What questions?" He asked.

"Associates of this family have attacked me on two separate occasions now. I want to know more about this family. I already know only members of the family know the family’s name. I want to meet a member of the family. I’ve already met quite a few of it’s associates and I’m not impressed." I said.

He began laughing.

"You? You want a meeting with a member of the family?" He laughed.

He reached up and wiped blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Nobody gets a meeting with a member unless they want a meeting with you." He said.

"And how do I get them to want a meeting with me?" I asked.

"That’s for them to decide. Most associates go their entire lives without ever meeting one of them." He answered.

"So what you’re saying is you are just as useless as the other associates I have spoken with." I said.

"I will send your request up. If they agree to meet they will send for you." He growled.

"Thank you." I said and turned to leave.

"My daughter. Name your price." He demanded.

I put my hand on Ginger’s shoulder and led her out of the office without saying another word. We left the arena and walked around to see if we were being followed.

"Aren’t you worried they will come after you?" Ginger asked.

"No. I expect them to come after me. I can sense an aura that has been following us since we left the arena." I said.

"What? Really? But I’m a scout and I don’t sense anything." She said.

"You are a low level scout, whoever is following us is closer to my level than yours." I said.

We walked down random streets for the next two hours before someone approached and handed me an envelope. There was a wax seal with an image that looked like an egg.

"What an odd symbol to use as your seal." I said.

I opened the envelope and read the message.

"The road between Emerald and Sapphire."

I looked at ginger.

"Looks like we got a meeting. It’s either an ambush or the meeting I requested." I sighed.

We turned and walked back through the city and through the city gate.

"Do you think it’s a trap?" Ginger asked.

"It could be." I said.

Two miles from the city gate I sensed an immense aura ahead of us.

"Do you feel that?" I asked Ginger.

"No, what is it?" She asked.

"It’s the highest level I’ve ever sensed. Too high for me to even try to guess what level they are." I said.

"Should we turn back?" She asked.

"No. If I can sense them they can sense me. They already know I’m here. Now I’m more intrigued than before." I said.
