Primordial Red Goblin

Chapter 104: Law Of The Prime

"Now I’m more intrigued than before." I said.

After walking another mile I could see a lone figure standing in the middle of the road. I continued walking until I was one hundred meters from the figure before I heard his voice. Calm and smooth.

"Now isn’t this interesting?" He said.

I stopped walking.

"I assume you are a member of the family I requested to speak with?" I said in a tone matching his.

"I am. And I must say I was not expecting this." He said.

"Expecting what?" I asked.

"A newborn Primordial." He answered.

"What do you know about it?" I asked.

"A great deal." He answered.

"Do you mind telling me your name?" I asked.

"Of course. My name is Cornelius Prime, son of William Prime." He said holding up a gold medallion with the same image of an egg from the seal on the envelope.

"And who may I ask is William Prime?" I asked.

He laughed for a full minute.

"My apologies. You are a newborn. Of course you wouldn’t know the name of the Human Primordial male." He answered.

I took a step closer to him.

"Are you here to kill me?" I asked.

"No. By the ancient decree I cannot harm you. By doing so my entire line will be erased by my father’s own hand. Such is the law of the Prime." He answered.

"That’s good to know. Is there a written copy of this law so I can learn it myself?" I asked.

"I will have it sent to your orphanage." He replied.

"So you did your research huh? I assume you already know my name too?" I asked.

"Yes Mister Red. And now so will the others." He said.

"The others?" I asked.

"The other members of the family. And the other Primordials." He answered.

He began walking toward me. As he got closer I could see he was an elderly man. Judging by his aura and my guess at his level it was safe to say he was several hundred years old at least.

"I was informed of the birth of a new Primordial but I did not believe I would meet you like this. My father told me newborn Primordials are just that, newborn minds with adult bodies. You don’t fit that description." He said.

"Is that a good thing?" I asked.

"Yes indeed. Newborn Primordials are known to be quite destructive. Imagine an adult of your level with the mental age of a newborn throwing a tantrum." He chuckled.

"That makes sense. You said you were informed of my birth. By who?" I asked.

"My father. The Goddess told the Primordials of your birth as soon as it happened and they told their children." He answered.

"How many Primordials are there?" I asked.

"Well, there is a male and a female Primordial for every race except one. Two humans, two Elves, two Dwarves, two of each Beast-kin race, and two of each race on the other continents. Only the Goblin race has one Primordial, a male." He explained.

"If every race has two Primordials wouldn’t there have been another one born when I was born?" I asked.

"That’s a good question. One we have asked as well. Do you mind telling me what your race is? Interesting enough, I can’t seem to recognize your race through your aura." He said.

"If you don’t like what my race turns out to be do you give your word you won’t attack me?" I asked.

"As I said. The law of the Prime prohibits me from attacking you. No Primordial or their children may attack another Primordial or their children without the unanimous consent of all other Primordials, and that has never happened to my knowledge." He said.

"I’m not sure I feel comfortable revealing my race at this time. When I was born a system message told me I am the progenitor of an entirely new race. A race that happens to be the new natural enemy to the goblin race you know. The message said if any goblin sees any uncovered part of my body they will attack me or any member of my race with killing intent." I explained.

"Hmm, that is troublesome indeed. I will inform the Prime of your dilemma. Fortunately for you the Goblin Primordial does not live on this continent. We will be in touch." He said as he turned to leave.

"What about the associates of your family? They have attacked me twice already, can you tell them to back off?" I asked.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his medallion and tossed it to me. I caught and looked at it.

"Next time they try something show it to them. They will leave you alone." He said.

I watched him walk away. Once he was one hundred meters away there was a loud thunderclap and he disappeared.

"Did that old man just break the sound barrier?" I asked.

"I think so." Ginger said.

I turned around and began walking back to Emerald City.

"Things just got a whole lot more interesting." I said.

We returned to the orphanage and Lilly approached with an envelope.

"This just came for you less than five minutes ago." She said.

I took the envelope and walked toward the stairs.

"Call everyone to the attic." I told Lilly.

I went into the attic and removed my helmet before sitting on the edge of the bed. I opened the envelope Lilly gave me and pulled out a single sheet of paper and read the title.

"Law of the Prime"

It explained the same thing Cornelius said about Primordials and their children not being allowed to kill each other without unanimous consent of all Primordials with the punishment being the complete erasure of the offenders entire bloodline.

Just then all the women walked in.

"So how did it go?" Sarah asked.

Without reading the rest I put the paper back in the envelope and set it aside. I then began explaining everything to the girls.
