I looked her in the eyes for a full minute before speaking.

"Because those children needed someone to help them and I had the ability to help them so I helped them. I couldn’t standby and do nothing while the sisters stood on the streets and begged for coin they weren’t going to get otherwise. Thousands of people live in this city and even more in Sapphire City. Despite that my children were going to school wearing rags and coming home hoping the sisters had begged enough coin to feed them dinner." I answered.

Elyndra’s smile grew bigger as I spoke.

"Your children." She repeated.

"Yes, my children. They became my children the moment I signed the sponsorship didn’t they?" I asked.

"Yes, they did. But the other sponsors don’t see them as their children. You do. I’m sure you have used the collar to prevent the sisters from telling people about you, may I ask them some questions?" She asked.

I nodded and she looked at Lilly.

"Head sister Lilly. How has he treated the members of your house?" She asked.

"He has treated everyone as members of his family. He has taken care of everyone’s needs without anyone asking for it. All of the children have brand new beds, new blankets, new clothes, enough food that children who have never felt a full stomach now feel it every day. They have new toys to play with, new books to read, and an entire playground in the orphanage’s back yard. He pays for them to go to the training grounds three times a week and to visit the bathhouse a minimum of four times a week. When he is in the city and has time he takes them out to restaurants. If the sisters are their mothers he is their father." She answered.

"What about the sisters? Has he taken advantage of the incentive program?"

Lilly looked at me then back at Elyndra.

"He asked us to have his children in exchange for taking care of the orphanage. All of us happily agreed. To my knowledge not once has he forced himself on any woman." She answered.

Elyndra then looked at Erin.

"What about your house?" She asked Erin.

"He came to my house and saw the terrible living conditions the children were forced to endure. He asked us the same thing. After speaking to a sister of Lilly’s house and learning of everything he did for them we all immediately agreed. I haven’t regretted my decision for a single second since." Erin said.

She then looked at Ginger.

"You are not a sister of the church. Can you tell me how you came into his service?" She asked Ginger.

Ginger looked at me and I nodded my head. Ginger then looked back at Elyndra and answered.

"I was a junior associate of the Prime family. My parents are associates and sent me to my first post when I turned eighteen. My post was in the western forest. There was an intruder that got too close to our camp and I was ordered to join as reinforcement for the first group that found him. When I arrived the first team, two dozen people, were already dead. My team, also two dozen people, were ordered to attack him. After seeing him kill everyone that attacked I froze. I didn’t move. Eventually I was the last one standing. After he killed everyone else on my team he turned toward me. I threw down my sword and fell to my knees begging for my life. He spared me and said since he spared my life it now belongs to him. He brought me to the city and put this collar on me. I’ve been with him since." Ginger explained.

"Has he taken you to his bed?" Elyndra asked.

"No ma’am. He asked me to join his harem and has been waiting for an answer." Ginger said.

Elyndra then looked back at me.

"How many women have you impregnated so far?" She asked.

"Seven are confirmed, two are pending." I answered.

"That’s it? You were born over one hundred days ago and you have only impregnated seven women?" She raised an eyebrow.

"One hundred and two days. And yes, only seven. Even though all of the sisters have agreed to have my children I refuse to impregnate them all at once. Even though I need to have children of my own race I refuse to leave the children of the orphanages without caretakers while the sisters are giving birth. So each sister spends two weeks with me before the next sister spends time with me. That way only one sister will be giving birth at a time and the next sister will give birth two weeks later." I said.

"Delaying the growth of your own race by putting the needs of children of other races first." Elyndra said.

After a minute she spoke again.

"Cornelius said at the time of your first meeting you weren’t comfortable revealing your race. Has that changed?" She asked.

"Before I reveal my race to you let me say something first." I said.

She nodded her head.

"So far every time I have revealed my race I have gotten the same reaction but after some explanation the reaction changed for the better. I ask that you listen to my explanation before passing judgment." I said.

She nodded again. I raised my hands and removed my helmet. She looked at me as her eyebrows went up a hair’s width.

"As you already know my race is the natural enemy to the goblins you know. You already know that I do not force myself on women of other races like they do. I currently require women of other races to have my children since I wasn’t born with a Primordial mate but unlike them my race is capable of having daughters. Three of my women are currently carrying my daughters." I explained while studying Elyndra’s reaction.

She stared at me without speaking. So I decided to keep explaining myself to her.
