"If any of you have any questions about me feel free to ask my wives." I explained.
I looked out at the crowd as they talked to those around them. Then I continued.
"As many of you have been wondering where we are going, we are going to build a new settlement. It will begin as a small farming village and will eventually become a city. All of you will be the first residents of my village. In case you haven’t already noticed there are an equal number of men and women among all the slaves. That is so you can pair up and have children of your own if you choose to." I explained.
I then dismissed them to eat their breakfast and they surrounded my wives asking them questions. After breakfast the slaves broke down the camp and prepared to begin moving. Once they were ready we started. I walked in the front still not wearing my helmet. Two hours after we began moving one of the lion-kin guards ran up to me.
"Sir, there is a goblin den three miles ahead of the caravan. Should we clear it or go around it?" She asked.
"How big is it?" I asked.
"We counted over three hundred of them outside the cave alone." She answered.
"Show me." I said.
I stopped the caravan and put my helmet on and followed her to the cave. I could sense it before we got there. There was more than just goblins in the cave. We stopped and hid in the brush three hundred yards from the cave entrance.
"What do you want to do sir?" She asked.
"I have to go in and clear it." I said.
"Do you want me to go with you?" She asked.
"No, let’s go back to the caravan." I said.
We returned and I sent the lion-kin to gather my wives and the other guards.
"What is it?" Sarah asked.
"There is a Primordial’s child in there. I sensed the aura, it’s not Cornelius or Elyndra." I said.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes. It’s a Primordial aura but it’s significantly weaker than Cornelius and Elyndra. I don’t know if it’s because whoever it is has a lower level or because they’re dying but it’s definitely a Primordial’s child." I replied.
"What are you going to do?" Lyra asked.
"I want you to have the caravan circle up in a defensive posture. I’ll take two of the guards with me to guard the entrance while I go in alone." I said.
"Okay." Sarah said.
"Lucy, I want you ready to heal whoever I bring out." I said.
"Okay." She said.
I chose the lion-kin woman and the lion-kin man to go with me. I waited for the caravan to circle up before leaving. Once back at the goblin cave I told the lion-kin there job is to guard the entrance and kill every goblin they see going in or coming out but don’t follow me in. Then the three of us charged and killed every goblin outside of the cave as quickly as we could. Once they were dead the two lion-kin took their position outside the cave and I went in.
The entrance led into a long passaway that angled down deeper into the ground. As I went deeper the aura I sensed became slightly stronger, almost as though to signal to me it knew I was there. After about half a mile I reached the end of the passageway and it opened at the top of a massive cavern half a mile wide and so deep I couldn’t see it even with my goblin eyesight. The path down from the passageway went alongside the wall of the cavern like a corkscrew. From the top of the cavern I could hear the moaning and wailing of women being abused by the goblins at the bottom. I began walking down the walkway along the wall. The walkway was about four feet wide at it’s widest point and three feet wide at it’s narrowest point. I barely made it one hundred feet before a group of goblins coming up spotted me and screamed down to the rest of them alerting them of an intruder. I tightened my grip on my sword and charged them. I killed the first group and kept running deeper. I made it another hundred feet before an endless wave of goblins came running up the path. I hit the wall of goblins swinging. A vertical slash with my sword was followed by a goblin being grabbed by the throat and thrown sideways off the path. It’s scream could be heard for twelve seconds before it ended with a wet crunch. The horde pushed against me harder than I could push it back. I began fighting backward one step at a time. The goblins died and were immediately replaced by the one behind it. For every three goblins I killed I was forced back a full step. Whenever a goblin stepped inside the swing of my blade it caught a gauntleted fist in the side of it’s head that sent in off the ledge. The kill notifications scrolled faster than I could read them. After ten minutes the hobgoblins began to appear mixed in with the goblins. After half an hour I still couldn’t see the end of the horde. By the end of the first hour I had been pushed halfway back to the passageway at the top of the cavern. Goblin after goblin, hobgoblin after hobgoblin. Swing after swing, I kept killing. After the second hour I was pushed back into the passageway. Just as I stepped back into the passageway I heard it.
’Ding’
[You have reached level 50. Initiating evolution.]
"FUCK! Not now!" I shouted.
Just as the red light began to take over my vision I kicked the goblin in front of me as hard as I could into the goblins behind it causing a domino effect as it smashed into the wall of goblins behind it. The last thing I saw was several goblins falling off the ledge as the first several ranks fell backward onto the goblins behind them. I began blindly swinging my sword in front of me hoping to hit anything that comes while I’m blinded by the red light. After three full long seconds the light faded.
[Evolution complete. All attributes increased by 5 points.]
The first thing I saw when the light faded was a hobgoblin diving toward me. It’s face met my gauntleted fist with a wet crunch before it flew backward. The passageway was wider than the ledge so the wall of goblins in front of me became two goblins wide instead of one. I continued to fight backward for another hour. By the end of the third hour there were more hobgoblins than goblins. I was not one hundred feet from the ledge. By the end of the fourth hour the horde had begun falling back allowing me to fight my way back to the ledge. After four and a half hours of fighting I was finally back on the ledge and could see the end of the horde pushing up it. When the fifth hour ended the path in front of me was clear as far as I could see down it. At this point my arms were exhausted and I was breathing heavier than I have since being reincarnated. I decided to check my status screen for the first time since evolving.

I put two points on vitality putting it at one hundred thirty-six and put one on each of the others putting them at one hundred thirty-five. I began walking down the ledge going slowly to catch my breath. The moaning and wailing grew louder the deeper into the cavern I went. I could also hear more goblins down there as well. After twenty-five minutes of walking I could finally see the bottom of the cavern. There were dozens of goblin and hobgoblin corpses that fell from the top during the battle. Once I was only a hundred feet from the end of the ledge I noticed three passages dug into the walls. When I stepped off of the ledge I approached the passages. The moaning and wailing appeared to be coming from all three passages, but the aura was coming from the one on the far right. I slowly entered the far right passage. It was a winding tunnel that went down at a steep angle and to the right for about thirty feet before leveling out. It opened up to a large breeding chamber where I saw two dozen hobgoblins abusing several women. Many of the women were being abused by multiple hobgoblins at once. I rushed into the chamber and killed the nearest two before any of them could react.
