Primordial Red Goblin

"That’s true. We will travel for over two months until we get to a good spot and will build a new village." I said.

"Why?" Jack asked.

"Once we enter the forest I will explain everything to everyone." I said.

We made it to the goblin farm and the kids entered the cages and readied themselves as the first goblins were brought out. I stood to the side with Tala, Roux, and Ginger. I pulled Roux to my side and she leaned her head against me.

"Erik, since I belong to you know I suppose thjs does too." She said holding up her storage ring.

I took it and checked the contents. Inside was the ten thousand gold coins she offered me for Ginger. Not just that. There was a total of ten thousand three hundred fifteen gold, eight thousand six hundred forty-one silver, and three thousand two hundred ninety-three bronze.

"Well thank you Roux." I said.

"You’re welcome. Just put it to good use. That is my life savings from working for the family." She said.

"I definitely will." I said.

I put the ring on my finger and Tala leaned against my back and wrapped her arms around me.

"Dad is going to be so mad when he finds out you joined the man that took his daughter." Ginger said.

"Fuck him. That man never cared about his family, only the family he works for." Roux said.

"You know mom, Erik met an actual member of the family and he gave Erik a token for safe passage." Ginger said.

"What? Really?" Roux asked.

"Yes, he even has a token from one of the other families too." Ginger said.

Roux looked up at me in awe.

"You have tokens from two of the great families?" She asked.

I held my hand up and summoned both tokens from my ring. Roux took both of them and studied them.

"I take it you know more about the families than I do and I’ve been working for them for nearly twenty years." She said.

"Yes. The great families are the children of the Primordials. The family you worked for is the human family." I said.

"And this one?" She asked holding up the medallion with the great tree.

"That one is from the Elves." I answered.

"Primordials? Like you?" She asked.

"Yes. Every race has Primordials, the first of their kind. Immortals who started each race." I said.

She handed the medallions back and I put them back in my ring.

"I have a feeling my life will be drastically different than before." Roux murmured.

"Yes it will." I chuckled.

After two hours the children finished killing the goblins and were all level five. We left and went back to the slave district.

"What are we doing here Mr. Red?" Oliver asked.

"I need more guard slaves. I only bought humans before because of their levels but on the way from Sapphire City I realized the limitations of human senses, they couldn’t smell the goblins in the trees like Lyra and I could. I need ro find some beast-kin guards that can sniff them out." I answered.

We searched through four slave houses and I bought twenty more combat slaves with levels between thirty and thirty five, none of them are human. I bought four elves, four wolf-kin, four lion-kin, four dog-kin, and four tiger-kin. Half of them men and the other half women. I then took them to get armor and weapons before returning to the caravan. I gathered all of the guards and all of the armed children together.

"I want each of the classes children to find a guard that uses the same combat style as them." I said.

The kids spread out and found a guard with the same weapons as them. Then I looked at rhe guards that had kids standing next to them.

"Great. These kids are now your apprenticeship. They will stand guard with you and your will train them to the best of your abilities." I ordered.

Their collars glowed and faded.

"Yes sir." They said.

I then checked the camp and saw everything had already been packed into the wagons and everyone was ready to leave. Each of my wives had climbed onto the passenger seat of the wagons next to the driver and the sisters had loaded the younger children into some of the empty wagons.

"Let’s go." I said.

The caravan began moving and passed through the city gates. We traveled several miles from the city before turning off the road and entering the forest. I walked the length of the caravan and inspected the guards as the caravan entered the forest. I saw the new elf and beast-kin guards running the line listening and smelling for danger. The armed children were attentively listening to the guidance of their new teachers. The herders were bringing up the rear with the livestock and several guards were behind them watching for stragglers. Once we were two miles into the forest I took the lead in front of the first wagon. With my goblin senses I could hear some of the beast-kin guards scouting in the surrounding area. An hour after entering the forest an elf guard approached me and reported.

"We encountered a goblin scouting party two hundred yards off the left flank. We eliminated them before they could alert others. We checked the surrounding area and didn’t find anymore." He reported.

"Good work, keep me updated." I said.

He nodded and ran back into the forest. We kept moving until midday and I ordered the caravan to stop for lunch. The cook immediately took out her cooking equipment and built a fire to cook with within fifteen minutes she was serving the first plate. The peasant slaves began tending to the oxen making sure they were good to continue. One of the peasant drivers approached me and bowed.

"Sir. We are making good time but since we had a late start we won’t make the standard twenty miles for a day’s travel." He said.

"How far will we get today?" I asked.

"Roughly fifteen miles." He said.

"That’s fine. Gather the other drivers after they eat." I said.

"Yes sir." He bowed and walked away.

I stood guard while everyone ate and when the drivers were finished they gathered around me. I pulled out the map and showed them where we are going. Then they got back on their wagons and waited for everyone to get ready to go. An hour after we stopped we began moving again. We kept moving until an hour before sunset and put the wagons in a tight half circle with all of the animals inside it. Then we set up rhe tents with the kids in the center and the peasants around them. The guards were on the outer ring of the camp. The opening of the half circle was used as the entry and exit for the camp and a picket line was set up for security. We also set guards on the other three side of the camp. I walked the camp before going into my tent. My wives had setup four of the tents side by side for us and the sisters. As soon as I finished removing my armor I was mobbed by my wives, Laura, Tala, Ginger, Roux, Lisa, and Erin. It was several hours before they let me go to sleep.

The next morning I woke up before sunrise in a tangle of naked women. The moment I began moving they began waking up. We got up and got dressed. I put my armor on and told Sarah to gather everyone before breakfast. Then I walked out of the tent to check with the guards.

"Anything happen last night?" I asked.

"No sir. Everything was quiet and no monsters found us." One guard answered.

"Well we’re fifteen miles into the forest and have only contacted a single scouting party. Eventually they will cross our trail behind us and follow it straight to us. Keep a good eye on the rear of the caravan." I instructed.

"Yes sir." He replied.

"Gather the other guards, I gave an announcement to make before breakfast." I said.

"Right away sir." He nodded.

I walked over the the camp’s fire where the cook was getting ready to serve breakfast. Everyone had gathered around and was staring at me. I raised my hands and removed my helmet. There was a long rolling gasp through the crowd.

"Other than my wives, the sisters, Ginger, and Roux this is the first time any of you have seen my face. As you can see I am not a member of any race you have ever seen. Now that we are in the forest on our way to it’s center I am able to walk around without my helmet on all day. If any lf you have any questions about me feel free to ask my wives." I explained as I looked at the crowd.
