Primordial Red Goblin

Chapter 26: Practice For Lucy

"Don’t worry about it." I grinned.

I took the girls to a shop to get Lucy some shoes suitable for walking in the forest. Sarah grabbed a pair of crisp white leather shoes with laces.

"These will look good with all the dresses I got her." Sarah said.

I paid fifty bronze for the shoes and Lucy took off the green flats that matched the green sun dress she had on and put the shoes on and laced them up.

"Thank you Sarah." Lucy said.

"Thank you Sarah? I am the one who paid for all of your dresses and shoes. Where is my thank you?" I teased.

"Thank you erik." She said.

"That’s better. Now let’s go." I said.

"Where are we going now?" Sarah asked.

"To find a tent big enough for the three of us. Unless you want to share my lap with Lucy in a tree." I said.

"I don’t mind." Sarah grinned at Lucy.

"What? What do you mean?" Lucy asked.

"When we are in the forest Erik likes to sleep high in the trees to avoid anything that might attack at night. And I sleep on his lap and he holds me so I don’t fall."

"So you want me to sleep on his lap with you?"

"Unless you would rather sleep on the ground where the predators are."

"I don’t know. I’m not sure. I mean he is your husband. You wouldn’t mind me sleeping on his lap?

"You are his legal property. Why would I mind?"

"Wouldn’t you rather have a tent so you can have privacy with your husband?"

"Even if we had a tent you would still be sleeping in it with us. We won’t make you sleep outside while we sleep in a tent."

"Alright, I’ll just get a tent and we can decide on this later." I butted in.

We walked around until we found a store filled with camping supplies. I bought a tripod with an iron pot, a large blanket, four canteens, and a tent just wide enough for three people for six silver. Then we went to a shop and bought a week worth of dried meat for one silver. Afterwards we left the city and entered the forest. When we were far enough away from the city I removed my helmet and stored it in my ring.

"I bet if feels good to take that off." Lucy said.

"Like you wouldn’t believe." I said.

"Thank you again for giving that coin pouch to my mother. Her pantry is full for the first time in years and she was about to by a small table with a cushioned chair." Lucy said.

"It was no problem. I actually have plans for your mother."

Lucy stopped walking when she heard that.

"What? What plans do you have for my mother?"

"Remember when we were at the bathhouse and Sarah gave you the option to become my second wife?"

"Yeah but I thought she was joking."

"It was not a joke." Sarah said.

"Anyway. If you do decide to become my wife your mother will become my mother-in-law. I can’t allow my possible future mother-in-law to starve to death." I said.

"But you said you have plans for her." Lucy said.

"I do. While you and Sarah went to get your hair done before the wedding I went to a real estate office and told them to put together a list of small homes within my price range. If you do decide to become my wife my plan for your mother involves her moving into a new home."

Lucy stood there speechless staring at me with her arms hanging losely at her sides. After four or five minutes she was able to speak again.

"Are you offering to buy my mother a new home if I become your wife?"

"Yes. Exactly."

"I don’t know what to say."

"You don’t need to say anything. Not right now anyway."

Lucy looked at Sarah.

"Did you know about this?" She asked.

"No. This is the first time I’m hearing about it." Sarah said.

"Well let’s get going. The goblin mission they gave Sarah said the goblin cave is two days away from the city." I said.

We started walking again as Lucy and Sarah began whispering to each other. After three hours of walking it was midday so I stopped and handed out some dried meat and passed around one of the canteens. After we ate I took off one of my gauntlets and took a knife out of my ring.

"Lucy how about you start practicing your healing abilities to get some xp?" I asked.

"What do you mean? Practice on who?" She asked.

I used the knife to cut the end of my finger.

"What are you doing?" Lucy gasped as she grabbed my hand.

"Oh no, I cut my finger. I need a healer." I teased.

Sarah started giggling as Lucy frantically began trying to heal my finger. On her third attempt she was finally able to steady herself enough to concentrate on my finger. After three minutes the finger was healed.

"Why would you do something like that?" Lucy shouted.

"Like what? This?" I said as I cut my finger again.

"Ahhh." Lucy gasped as she grabbed my hand again.

I looked at Sarah and grinned while Lucy healed my finger again. This time she was able to concentrate better and healed it faster than before.

"See? You are already getting better. You healed it a full minute faster than the last time." I said.

"Please stop doing that." Lucy begged.

"How much xp did you get each time you healed me?" I asked.

"It was a minor cut so I only got two xp each time." She replied.

I then took the knife and ran it across the palm of my hand cutting it from one side to the other.

"You crazy fucker." Lucy yelled as she began healing me again.

"Stop doing that." Lucy cried as she healed me.
