Primordial Red Goblin

I began the same process of picking them off one by one. I killed several goblins outside of the cave before entering and killing the remaining goblins inside the cave. Yet again, after searching the cave I found nothing of use. Not even a pair of shorts. I continued traveling through the forest killing goblins for several days. On my fifth day in the forest I came across a different kind a monster. It was a few inches taller than the goblins and instead of green skin it had brown skin. Also, unlike the goblins who were wearing strips of cloth as loinclothes this thing was wearing pants that stopped midway between it’s knees and ankles. I climbed up into a tree and moved along the branches until I was directly above it. While holding my sword in a reverse grip I stepped off the branch and brought the point of my sword down directly on the crown of it’s head. My sword went through it’s skull and came out of it’s throat, killing it’s instantly.

’Orc, so that’s what it was.’ I thought to myself. I also noticed a level one orc gives five more xp than a level one goblin. I began searching for more orcs, finding and killing several of them before I finally found their den. It was a cave carved into the rock face of a large hill. I decided to use the same tactic against the orcs that I have been using against the goblins, luring them out and killing them one by one. It took several hours but I eventually killed all of the orcs that were outside of the cave, by this point I had also reached level eighteen. I slowly crept into the orc cave and walked until I came to a chamber much larger than the chambers in the goblin caves. There was a lone orc near the center of the chamber with his back turned toward me, there was also another passage on the other side of the chamber. I slowly walked toward the orc until I was close enough and I swung my sword hitting it in the neck. I pulled my sword back and hit it in the neck again before it could react to the first hit and it fell to the ground. I swung a third time and it’s head finally came free and fell to the floor followed by it’s body.

I then made my way into the next passage and walked until I entered a second chamber. There I found another creature similar to the orcs but slightly different. ’This must be what the orcs evolve into.’ I thought. The creature noticed me immediately and ran directly at me, I did the same and ran toward it. Right before we were close enough to hit each other I quickly stepped to the side and stuck my leg out, tripping the creature. It fell forward face first onto the ground and I jumped on it’s back before it could get up before stabbing it repeatedly in the back with my sword until it was dead.

I looked around and saw another passage so I entered it and followed it until I came to a much smaller chamber. In the center of the chamber was a pile of coins, jewelry, and other shiny objects.

"Looks like the orcs like to hoard shiny things, maybe this is my ticket to getting rich in this world." I said as I looked through the pile. I saw a lot of silver and bronze coins and several gold coins. There were also expensive looking necklaces and a couple of rings. I picked up one of the rings and held to up to take a look at it. As I inspected the ring small words appeared in the air above it.

"Well now isn’t that just incredible." I said. I put the ring on and tried to access it. It took a couple tries but I was finally able to figure it out. Inside were several more coins, some camping supplies, some dried food, and even some clothes. I removed the clothes from the ring and excitedly tried them on. I finally had a decent pair of pants held up by a drawstring and a slightly oversized shirt. There was also two extra pairs of pants and several shirts. I turned back to the pile and put all the coins into the ring. There was a second storage ring that I put on my other hand that had more coins, food, and a sword that was in much better condition than the one I already had. I moved all the coins into one ring and put the necklaces in the same ring as the coin. I searched the entire room and found a few more coins but nothing else so I left the cave and started walking through the forest again. As the sun began to hang over the horizon I found a small stream. I looked around before removing my clothes and stepping into the water for a much needed bath. As I sat in the water I removed some of the dried food from the storage ring and ate it. When the sky began to get dark I got out of the water and put my clothes back on before finding a good tree to sleep in for the night. I climbed up into the tree and sat with a smile after finally finding some clothes and enjoying a good soak in the stream. I dozed off listening to the sound of running water, and the next morning I woke up and continued on my journey through the forest in the same direction as before.
