Primordial Red Goblin

Chapter 44: The Orphanage Part 2

"Yes sir. Thank you sir. Goddess bless you mister Red." She cried and hugged me.

I held her as she cried and looked at my women. Sarah had her hands over her mouth and Lucy had her hands clasped over her chest. Both were looking at me with eyes filled with tears. Amber and Lyra were looking at me with smiles and wagging tails. After holding Lilly for two full minutes she pulled away and wiped her eyes before leading us to the clothing store. The woman behind the counter greeted us when we entered. I turned to sister Lilly.

"Do you know the clothing sizes for all the children? I asked.

"Yes sir." She replied.

"Get each girl seven dresses, one for each day of the week. Get each boy an outfit for each day of the week as well. Get each child two pairs of shoes that look good with the clothes you pick out. My girls will help you if you wish." I said

I found a sofa and sat down while the girls followed sister Lilly around the store. I waited for nearly two hours as sister Lilly made several trips to the counter to put things down for the kids. After she was done Sarah held her as she cried into Sarah’s shoulder. The woman behind the counter began totaling everything up.

"One hundred thirty-three dresses at thirty-five bronze each. One hundred twenty-six pair of pants at twenty-five bronze each. One hundred twenty-six shirts at twenty bronze each. Thirty-eight pair of girl’s shoes at thirty bronze each. Thirty-six pair of boy’s shoes at thirty bronze each. The total is one gold five silver forty-five bronze." She said after adding everything up.

I handed over the coin and stored the clothes in one of my rings. I turned to sister Lilly and she looked back at me.

"Toys and books." I said.

She buried her face back into Sarah’s shoulder and began crying even louder than before. After five full minutes she was able to pull herself together and lead us to another store that sold children’s toys and books.

"Welcome, how can I help you?" Asked the lady at the counter.

I looked around and found several empty toy chests for sale. I picked two girly ones and set them on the floor in front of the counter and grabbed two more for the boys. Then I looked at the lady behind the counter.

"I’m going to buy these four chests and everything the sister can fit inside them." I said before turning to sister Lilly.

"Fill the chests with toys for kids of all ages. Girl toys in these chests and boy toys in these chests. And make sure to get each girl their own doll." I said.

Sister Lilly walked around the store with red eyes swollen from all the crying grabbing toys and filling the chests. The lady behind the counter added the prices as toys were added to the chests. Once the chests were full the lady gave the total.

"Nineteen silver eighty-seven." She said.

I paid the coin and sent the chests to my ring. Then I grabbed two more chests.

"Now books. Girl’s book in one boy’s books in the other." I said.

Sister Lilly walked around grabbing books and dropped them in the chests. After they were filled I looked at the lady behind the counter.

"Seven silver sixteen." She said.

I paid the coin and sent the chests to my ring.

"Let’s go back to the orphanage now." I said.

Sister Lilly led us back to the orphanage and it was filled with the kids that came back from school. They were wearing rags. Tattered clothes with mismatched patches sewn over old holes and tears.

"Everyone gather around." Sister Lilly called out to the children.

Four sisters and thirty-seven children were now standing in front of us and sister Lilly.

"This man’s name is mister Erik Red and these are his women. He has taken it upon himself to bless this orphanage and it’s children with his generosity." She said.

She turned to me and I held out my hand removing all the clothes from my ring. Everyone in the room audibly gasped in surprise at the sight of the huge pile of clothes.

"Mister Red has bought every girl seven brand new dresses and two new pair of shoes. He has bought every boy seven brand new pair of pants and shirts as well as two pair of shoes." She explained.

All of the kids were now talking loudly among each other as the other sisters came and helped sister Lilly pass out the clothes to the children they were chosen for. After the clothes were all passed out sister Lilly held her hands up to silence the children.

"There is more. Mister Red has bought brand new beds for everyone as well as blankets, sheets, pillows and pillow cases. They will be delivered tomorrow." She said.

The children and the sisters were now all speaking loudly among each other. Sister Lilly waited a full minute before raising her hands again.

"There’s more." She said as she looked at me.

I raised my hands again and removed all the chests from my ring.

"Mister Red has bought two toy chests filled with toys for girls and two toy chests filled with toys for boys. He has also bought a chest filled with books for girls and a chest filled with books for boys." She said.

At this point the children were out of control from excitement. I carried each chest into the day room and the kids immediately began going through the toys and books. I then turned to the sisters who were watching me.

"Don’t forget to make a list of every single thing that is broken or damaged in or on this building and speak to local tradesmen to see how much it will cost to fix. I will return in nine days for the list." I said.

All five of the sisters bowed.

"Yes sir." They said.
