QT: I hijacked a harem system and now I'm ruining every plot(GL)
Chapter 436: WordsChapter 436: Daphne
They look at me like I have grown a second head.
"I could be open to negotiating." I rub my finger underneath the System’s beak. The crow moves away, annoyed.
I probably look like a villain, here to ruin their lives.
Well. That is not wrong.
"What do you mean?" the dear main character asks.
I lean back.
"I would think about it," I say, "if you reimbursed my expenses. I spent 111.6 million on the land. 400k bribing human authorities to get this land. 100k to get the human lawyers to legally allow me here." I pause. "That would make a grand total of 112.1 million."
I smile.
"Obviously, you would have to give me extra for me to transfer it to you... but I will not be too mean. So—112.5 million."
I let the number hang in the air.
The room is silent.
I know the total net worth of all the packs here might barely amount to 50k. And even that is pushing it. I have seen the buildings around—the dilapidated structures, the worn clothing, the outdated tools. The System has calculated the localized monetary worth of this place. If they sold everything, including the clothes on their backs, they would still fall short.
The blonde ken doll looking wolf’s jaw clenches. What’s his name again....Mathew?
[Marcus.]
The System’s voice sounds through my mind.
"We do not have that kind of money," he says.
I shrug.
"Then I suppose the land stays mine."
The main character’s face pales.
"You cannot do this." One of the twin wolves says—I do not know which one.
"Oh, but I can." I lean back in my chair. "And I have."
The silence is unbearable.
"Oh, relax." I wave a hand. "Come on. I am not going to kick you out."
I reach for Elara and pull her onto my lap from the armchair where she was perched. She settles, against my chest.
"Nor am I going to charge you." I nuzzle her neck. "I bought this land as a sign of good will for my mate and in-laws. Honestly, that amount of money is nothing to me."
I look at the faces around the table. The relief is almost palpable.
"But..." I pause. "Who is to say what might happen if I got angry?"
The tension returns.
I smile.
"Relax," I say again. "I am not threatening you. I am simply stating a fact. I am a reasonable person. I am happy to share this land with you. I am happy to coexist."
I look at the main character and her men. There is a silent one with black hair who is just staring at me, unblinking. Mr. Ken Doll—Marcus—looks like he wants to fight me. I wish he would try.
"After all," I continue, "you wolves desire this whole community thing. Bonding with others. If some of you can share your mate, I suppose I too can play nice."
The main character looks like she does not know whether to be offended or relieved. She should be offended, that was a negative jab.
"So don’t worry, nothing will change even if I am the owner of this land." I say with a smile.

Marcus
It is too loud.
Wolf hearing is sensitive, but the Redmoon side of the land has been loud with all sorts of human machinery. The constant whirring, the hammering, the grinding of metal against stone,it grates on my nerves like nothing else.
The panther—I now know what she is—said nothing would change. Yet she is constructing a wall to separate Redmoon from the rest of us three packs. Redmoon already kept themselves isolated, but this is ridiculous.
I stand at the edge of the territory, watching the construction. A huge wire fence stretches across the boundary—meters long and high, expanding its reach, cutting through the forest like a scar.
This is going to cause further division between us and them.
I see it bothers Sera too, even though she tries not to show it. She stands beside me, her arms crossed, her face carefully blank.
"We can go to talk to her," I say.
"Don’t bother." Sera’s voice is flat. "Redmoon has never wanted to be a part of us. You saw how they were acting before. They now just have a justification."
She is right.
Redmoon has never been like the rest of us packs. They are the only pack that would adopt certain human customs and let go of certain wolf ones. They say they may be wolves, but they are humans too—they do not need to act so barbaric.
But we are wolves. It is in our nature to be minimalistic and live with mother nature. They are the ones going against nature by pretending to be "civilized."
I watch the fence rise.
"They are building a wall," I say. "They are separating themselves."
"Let them," Sera says. "They have always been separate."
She turns away.
I know that even if she acts this way, it must be bothering her too. Redmoon is her pack. Her home. Being rejected by your home is something no wolf can ever move on from.
She is just unfortunate to have been born among those wolves. It is not her fault.
I walk after her. I take her hand.
She does not pull away.
"Sera," I say.
She does not look at me.
"I know it hurts," I say. "I know you want them to accept you. I know you want to belong."
She still does not look at me.
"But you do belong," I continue. "With me. With us. With our packs. You are our Luna. You are our family."
She finally looks at me, blinking back her tears.
"I know," she says, her voice soft. "It is different now. I have my mates. My son. The packs. But sometimes it feels like I can never get rid of the pup me who yearned for acceptance."
I pull her closer.
"That pup is still part of you," I say. "She always will be. But she is not the only part of you. You are a mother. A Luna. A mate. You are strong. You are loved."
She does not respond, with words but a hug.
