Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 203: Ch 202: Retrieving Kael

Knock

"Saintess, are you in your room? It’s time for the ceremony...huh? Where did she go?"

An apprentice priest came to Seraphina’s room to get her for the holy ceremony, only to see that her room was empty. Seraphina had run away sometime between heading to her room and the time she was called, and the apprentice priest was so startled that he decided to call for backup.

A loud bell rang throughout the temple, forcing everyone to stop what they were doing and check it out. They all looked at the priest who rang the bell with annoyed expressions.

"Hey, what was that for? I was busy taking a bath-"

"The Saintess has disappeared! I went to her room to check on her, but she was nowhere to be seen. I don’t know what to do about it."

The apprentice priest yelled while grabbing his fellow priest, and they both suddenly looked worried.

Just where had the Saintess gone?

Their panic made the guards get involved as well, until there was a panicked crowd heading toward the Saintess’s teacher’s room. If there was one person who knew where the Saintess was, it was her.

They immediately knocked on the teacher’s door, and she opened it with a tired expression.

Yawn

"Is there anything I can help you with?"

She asked in an irritated voice, but the guard disregarded her hostility and immediately spoke to her.

"Miss, the Saintess has disappeared. We need your help to track her dow-"

The guard was breaking down from nervousness, which made the teacher sigh. She clasped her hands together, and divine magic spread throughout the room, calming everyone down in an instant.

Her eyes shone as they looked around the room, and she chuckled at the tired faces in front of her.

"Everyone, please calm down. There is no need to panic. The Saintess already told me that she would be heading home for a few days, and she asked us all not to panic. So there is no need to make such a ruckus. You all can ignore her absence for now."

The teacher explained with a small laugh, but she was growing irritated now. She was going to snap at these people if they did not leave.

But the guards still felt that something was not right. How could the Saintess leave like this? Was there an emergency? If so, then they needed to go and assist her-

"Don’t follow the Saintess unless you are ready to incur her wrath. For now, just believe in her and stay back. She knows what she is doing."

The teacher assured them before she slammed her door shut. And with her orders, the guards had no choice but to back down.

As for the lady in question? She was already on her way to Kael’s house to meet Leon and plan her next actions.

One year and eight months ago, Leon had sat her and the others down and explained that Kael needed to stay with his family in order to recover. But now that time was over, and it was finally time for him to return to Seraphina.

And this time, she was not going to take no for an answer...even if she had to enlist the help of others, she was going to do it for Kael’s sake.

’Teacher, just wait a little bit longer. I am coming for you. And this time, we won’t be separated by anything.’

...

"Adrian, Kael has gone missing. I checked his room and spoke with his guards, but no one has seen him anywhere. Do you have any idea where he might be?"

Emma asked as she slammed open her eldest brother’s door. She had a determined look on her face, and she was going to get her answer one way or another.

Luckily for her, Adrian looked like he was in the mood to comply with her wishes. He also held a small letter with familiar magic coming from it, which made Emma a little wary.

"Hmm, I see that you are here because of Kael’s matter. Well, this makes things easier. I was about to head out and get him anyway. You and Nathan can accompany me this time."

Adrian told her with a straight face as he pushed himself to his feet.

The fact that he was saying this told Emma that he knew something important. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have decided to get involved himself.

"What did Kael say in that letter? Did he tell you where he was and what happened to him?"

Emma asked with interest. Her eyes were shining with curiosity.

But her bastard brother did not answer her. Instead, he chuckled and watched her struggle to figure it out.

Finally, after a few seconds of enduring Emma’s glare, he decided to speak.

"Kael...did tell me where he was and how he’s doing. Along with that, our cute younger brother also asked me to come and bring him back home. So that’s what I’m going to do. You are welcome to either join me or stay back here and wait for me."

Emma frowned at Adrian’s words.

"Hey, I already told you that I’m coming along. And I have no intention of backing down. So don’t even try to send me back."

Emma assured Adrian, and he nodded. They headed out and ran into Nathan, who immediately started following them. But what surprised Emma was Adrian’s lack of comment as he allowed Nathan to join them.

Was this really such a big deal that all three of them had to go?

Emma got her answer when a worried Kana ran after them and decided to join them.

"M-My sister is missing as well. May I join you all? I have a feeling she has something to do with your brother’s disappearance. And please forgive me if that is the case. I don’t know what caused her to become like this. I..."

Kana tried to explain, but she looked lost. Emma felt sorry for her, but she also felt angry at the same time. And this time, she allowed her anger to win and turned her head away from Kana.

Kana seemed to understand her emotions, so she did not press her any further.

And that was how they all headed toward Kael’s location.
