Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 227: Ch 226: False Betrayal

"Did you just betray your brother and his companions? What are you planning?"

Kana asked with a blank look on her race. She refused to believe that Adrian was helping her out because he liked her or something. There has to be more reason behind why he decided to help her out.

But she could not think of a reason, no matter how hard she thought about it.

"Don’t worry about it. Think of it as a favor from my side. Now, where do I put these people?"

Adrian asked and Kana hesitated before she showed him where the holding cells were. Adrian picked up Kael gently while the other guards who arrived grabbed the other two.

"You can keep them in these cells. They have anti-magic and anti-holy power properties, so they will hold the three well."

Kana assured her guards but her eyes remained on Adrian to keep an eye on him.

But Adrian did not make any sudden movement, nor did he try to betray Kana. He simply stood in front of the cell with a blank look on his face.

Kana’s instincts told her not to trust this man, but so far he had not given her any reason to doubt his actions...

In fact, Adrian’s sincerity and help was what made her feel nervous.

"So, what else do you want me to do for you?"

Adrian asked and Kana decided to use him but keep him as far away as the main operation as possible.

"Since you have offered to help me, I guess I can offer you some tasks to do. Come, follow me."

Kana led Adrian to the side which was not important to her operations. She was not willing to trust him, but she was still going to wring him dry. She just hoped she was not being swayed by her emotions and making a mistake.

’This is so hard! I want to trust Adrian! But I cannot afford to make a mistake now. Otherwise, we will all die.’

...

"Ugh, that stupid elf! My head hurts..."

Seraphina complained as she sat up straight in the cell. Her body was bound with her arms behind her back and she could feel the external pressure pushing at her and not allowing her to use her holy powers.

It felt irritating and her skin itched to use magic. But she had to hold back for now. Otherwise, the walls around her would end up crushing her for trying to use magic.

But not everything was bad news. At least she was still with her teacher...and Leon.

Leon woke up next and he looked just as pissed-off as Seraphina felt. He tried to break his bonds free, but it was of no use.

"Tsk, we are being bound by anti-holy power and anti-magic material. I don’t think I will be able to get it off easily."

Leon spoke with an irritated voice. He wanted to break these cuffs holding him back, but doing so would likely make his body explode.

But the risk felt almost worth it, given his current condition.

*Sigh*

Seraphian let out a huge sigh to control her emotions and it somewhat helped her. But before she could curse out loud and get her bearings, Kael opened his eyes as well and he looked around the cell with an irritated look.

Leon noticed the elder’s emotions and decided to console him quickly.

"There is no need to feel bad about our situation, Kael. I will break us out-"

"There won’t be a need for that. I don’t think I am bound securely. I can get out of my cuffs."

Kael moved a little to get comfortable before he was able to grab his cuffs and tug at them to let himself be free.

The cuffs resisted for a second before they fell down and he helped the other two out as well.

Once that was done, Kael reached into his pocket and pulled out a key that Aiden had put in there when he had carried Kael over. It was clearly a tool meant to help him out. So it was clear that Adrian had not completely given up on them.

He was somewhat on their side with the way he was acting.

’So, was his show of betrayal earlier an act? Or is he trying to see which side he wants to stand on before he makes his judgement on which side he wants to join?’

Both were plausible, and his brother was scheming enough to see the second option through. But Kael did not like the fact that he was even considering this.

"Anyway, this is not important. Let’s get out of here first and then think about this situation. Seraphina, turn around. I will open your cuffs first."

Kael told the Saintess and she nodded before she turned around to show him her back. Kael loomed over her from behind as he opened her cuffs and he heard Seraphina taking steadying breaths to control herself.

Her cheeks had a warm blush that was turning her face a beautiful shade of red and Kael purposely ignored this in order to fully open her cuffs and allowed Seraphina to feel her wrists.

"Does this feel better?"

Kael asked and the Saintess nodded. She could finally feel her divine energy flowing through her body and it made her instantly feel better.

"I feel much better now."

She assured and Kael nodded before he turned to look at Leon next.

Leon sat quietly as Kael worked on his cuffs and soon, both of them were free and ready to face the elves.

Now, it was time to find the elf tree and take care of it. And luckily for them all, Kael already knew where he needed to go in order to find the elf tree.

"First, we are going to borrow some clothes from the elf guards and I will cast magic on us so that we look like elves as well. Are you both ready to break into their stronghold?"
