Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 250: Ch 249: The Emperor’s Cave

"If my brother is corrupted, then it is my duty to bring him back to his senses. Dragons have a bond to follow the one designated by heaven as their leader, and that cannot change. So, I will have to ask for your help in this matter."

The female dragon turned toward Kael with a heavy heart. She was completely depending on him for help.

Kael sighed at her words but ultimately decided to help her out since there was no other option left.

Even if he wanted to ignore the issue of the dragons, they wouldn’t leave humanity alone now that they had recognized them as their enemy.

"Alright, then it’s decided. We will head out for one final assault. Does anyone have any questions regarding this?"

Kael asked, looking back at his party, and they all shook their heads.

"We will follow your lead, leader."

"That’s right! We leave this situation in your hands, Teacher."

Kael nodded, and they started to head toward the dragon cave one final time. It was time for them to put an end to the dragons once and for all.

...

"Brother, are you alright? You seem a little sick these days. Do you need my help with anything?"

The dragon emperor looked at his sister’s concerned expression with a blank look. It felt odd to see her be this concerned about him, but he still kept his feelings in check.

More than anything, he was worried that she would turn back into the sister who ignored him and always mocked him. He did not want that. He wanted her to be supportive of him and his decisions.

"I-"

But the second he opened his mouth to speak, pain assaulted his mind, making him flinch and grab his forehead. It was hard for him to even think about what he had been doing seconds ago.

"There is no need to think about anything and make yourself feel stressed. Just close your eyes and let your body rest. That should help you feel better."

His sister reassured him as she spoke in a low, soothing voice. Her presence immediately made the dragon emperor feel better, and the pain he was feeling started to go away.

But that was not all. He could feel that his energy levels were rising whenever his sister was nearby.

This all should have been enough to make alarm bells ring in his mind, but because of his lack of energy these days, he decided not to pay attention to it.

Instead, he left everything to his sister these days.

"How are things going outside? Did you take care of the humans that came here to cause us trouble?"

The dragon emperor asked, and his sister sighed before replying to him.

"We are trying to get rid of those humans, but they have Grand Magicians and Sword Masters as well. So it is going to take us a while. But don’t worry. They will be out of the picture before you know it."

The female dragon assured him, and the dragon emperor sighed.

He wanted to tell her that her reassurance was not enough and that he needed results from her. But he was too tired to care about it.

The dragon emperor’s body was beginning to hurt, and he wanted to close his eyes and fall asleep right then and there.

So he turned toward his sister and let out a sigh.

"I will leave it all to you, sister. Don’t disappoint me now."

He told her before he closed his eyes and went to sleep. His sister let out a smile before it turned sinister.

"Don’t worry, my dear brother. Everything will go according to plan. And soon, we will see the birth of a new and stronger race."

...

Kael and the others got close to the dragon territory when the female dragon on top of Kael’s shoulder let out a groan of pain.

Her voice stopped everyone, and they turned to look at her with concerned expressions.

"Are you alright?"

Kael asked the dragon, and she let out a sigh before trying to nod, but the pain in her body would not allow her to do so.

"I...this hurts! Something is wrong with the dragon bond. My brother...has he started to become corrupted?"

The female dragon asked in a tense voice before she let out another pain-filled moan. It was clear that she was no longer able to hold herself back.

Soon, the valley they were in was filled with the voices of dragons, all trying their best to hold on, but it felt impossible.

"We all...will die soon...or become calamities! Someone, do something..."

The female dragon begged Kael, and he let out a sigh as he tried to form a holy barrier around her.

His holy magic soothed the dragon on his shoulder, but it was only a temporary fix.

"We need to check on the dragon emperor right now. Let’s head to his room."

Kael advised, and everyone nodded as they ran after him. They all had only one goal in mind—to make sure the dragon emperor was fine and that he was still able to rule properly.

And to make sure that happened, they first needed to reach the dragon emperor.

"I will...lead you to his room. I might be suffering and under a curse, but I still have enough energy to lead us along a safe path."

The female dragon assured Kael, and her body started to glow. Soon, a trail appeared in front of them, and the female dragon let out a tired sigh.

"If you follow this trail, then you will reach the end without falling into a trap. But please, hurry. I will leave my brother’s fate in your hands. Please...do not disappoint me."

With her permission granted, they all hurried toward the dragon emperor’s room. It was finally time to resolve the situation.

But when they reached the throne room, it was so dark and filled with corruption that it was impossible to step inside.

"This is not going to be easy."

Kael sighed as he watched Leon cut a path through the corruption. But even he could only make a temporary path through it.
