Alice Turner ignored Anthony’s somewhat childish words, walked over to the spot she had previously occupied, and sat down. She didn’t believe for a second that Anthony wanted to discuss which company to collaborate with.

"Go ahead, what are you hanging around here for?" She looked at him, waiting for him to give her a satisfactory answer.

"Didn’t I just say, I’m staying to discuss..." Anthony wanted to firmly insist that he was staying to discuss collaborating with another company, but before he could finish his sentence, Alice rolled her eyes at him, and he immediately changed his tune: "Okay! I admit I just lied."

Discussing collaborating with a company? No way he’d tire himself out with that.

Alice said nothing, just quietly watched Anthony, her face clearly saying, "I knew it."

Seeing that she didn’t intend to speak, he continued, "When I came back after dinner, I saw Benjamin Shaw downstairs. He looked so sad. Didn’t you and Thomas Fisher see him when you came in?"

He assumed they didn’t see him and didn’t know the actual situation.

"You seem particularly concerned about Benjamin Shaw." Alice didn’t answer Anthony’s question but said something that made him feel a little awkward.

Anthony felt extremely awkward inside, but he didn’t show it, "I’m just curious, just asking. It’s not about caring for anyone."

Not only did he say this, but he also waved his hand in denial.

"Don’t you know that curiosity killed the cat?" Alice had known Anthony for five years, and she could tell if he was telling the truth or lying. She was sure that what he was saying was very fake, and he looked even faker.

"What? Are you trying to silence me?" Anthony leaned back, his hands covering his neck, feigning shock and panic, "Oh, hero! Spare me, I have an eighty-year-old mother and a three-year-old baby, have mercy!"

His face showed terror, but the smile hidden in his eyes betrayed him.

Seeing Anthony like this, Alice rolled her eyes at him several more times, "Childish fool!"

With that, she stood up and went to the bathroom.

Seeing Alice walk into the bathroom, Anthony finally broke his serious demeanor and burst out laughing, but his smile froze in under a second.

"If you don’t want me to silence you, disappear before I come out." Alice popped her head out of the bathroom, made a throat-slitting gesture at Anthony sitting on the sofa, and only re-entered the bathroom with a smile after seeing his startled reaction.

Bang!

Once inside, she closed the bathroom door.

Anthony was startled but not really scared. It took him a moment to regain his composure, and he sprang up from his seat.

He walked toward the room door, stopping by the bathroom door on the way, and said to the person inside, "Sis! Be careful not to make too much noise later, or I’ll come in and interrupt you and that person."

With that, he dashed out of the room. Just as he rushed out, he heard the bathroom door open.

Brat! If you have the guts, don’t run!

Through the heavy room door, Anthony heard Alice’s shout, and after that, he quickly dashed back to his room.

Afraid Alice would come out to deal with him, he locked the door the moment he got inside.
