William walked toward the academy’s Task Center to submit the bandit task that he had completed.
’What’s going on here...?’ He couldn’t help but frown.
’I am sure that Graham didn’t have any Master he was speaking of earlier. More importantly, why did he say I look like his Master?’
William was truly confused, as it was another thing that hadn’t existed in the original timeline.
More importantly, William didn’t even know what had caused this change.
For the changes he had seen until now, he could roughly understand how they had come to be because of his actions.
But this change related to Graham was something he simply couldn’t understand.
Especially the matter regarding the so-called Master Graham had spoken of.
’An Angel with multiple pairs of wings on his back, golden hair, and a gentle expression on his face...’ William’s expression turned a little strange as he recalled Graham’s description about his master.
’Why does this description sound similar to the statues of the God of Light located in all the Churches of Light?’
William thought for a long time but still couldn’t figure out anything.
Finally, he rubbed his eyebrows and sighed.
’Forget it. If I remember correctly, the people from the Heavenly Realm will start attending the academy next week. I will try to get more information from Graham at that time.’
Soon, William entered the Task Center.
There were not many students inside at this time, so he walked toward one of the reception desks where no one was standing.
"I want to submit a task..." As William spoke, he took out the task slip he had received when he accepted the task and handed it to the receptionist.
"Oh, Junior! You are the one who came with Professor Norman’s letter, right?"
The receptionist recognized William, as there were very few students who were allowed to accept tasks above their level.
"Have you already completed the task?" He asked as he took the slip.
"Yes, Senior."
Since the receptionist was also a student of the academy, William casually nodded and took out a blood-stained cloth from his storage ring.
"The proof that I completed the task..." As he spoke, William placed the blood-stained cloth before the receptionist.
The receptionist’s expression didn’t change when he saw it.
He opened the cloth and looked at the three heads that belonged to Jamul and the other two Star Commander-level bandits.
Before fighting Hans, William had told Simon to take the bodies of the three bandits away with him, as he was afraid they would be damaged during the fight.
If he hadn’t done so, he would have had a difficult time submitting the task, as his final move, powered by Overload, had destroyed everything in that area, including the bodies of the other bandits.
Looking at the three heads, the receptionist couldn’t help but feel shocked inwardly.
’One Early Stage, one Middle Stage, and one at the peak of the Star Commander Realm...’ He looked at William with a stunned expression.
’Did he kill them himself?’
He tried to sense William’s level, but because William’s aura was fully concealed, he couldn’t sense anything.
He wanted to ask whether William had killed them himself, but he soon shook his head.
’What does it matter whether he killed them himself or someone helped him? My job is simply to verify the task, not investigate it.’
As someone who had been in the academy for a long time, the receptionist knew that it was better not to meddle in matters unrelated to him.
So, once he confirmed that everything was fine, he nodded.
"There is no problem here. Give me your student badge, and I will transfer your Academic Credit reward."
William handed over his student badge and in an instant, his almost empty balance surged to over two hundred and fifty credits.
"Thanks." William thanked the receptionist and left the Task Center.
"It’s really not easy to earn credits..." He muttered with a sigh and shook his head.
The reward for this task was two hundred and fifty credits.
Although that seemed like a decent amount considering the value of Academic Credits, one had to understand that a High Grade D-Rank task was something normally accepted by a small team.
Once they completed such a task, the amount of credits each person received wouldn’t be very high.
"I wonder how much Alicia and Liam sold that mine for?" He mumbled to himself, and a hint of anticipation flashed in his eyes.
He looked at the time and found that it was almost lunchtime.
’They should be in the cafeteria at this time...’ He thought and quickly headed toward the cafeteria.
****
"You were too impulsive earlier. Couldn’t you have just ignored them?"
"They were talking nonsense about my parents. I could tolerate it if they were just insulting me, but not my parents."
Alicia sighed and rubbed her eyebrows.
"Still, you didn’t have to fall for their taunts. You know they were intentionally trying to anger you."
"I know." Liam spoke in a low voice. "But it’s not like I am afraid of them. Even if all of them came together, I am confident that I could beat them."
"Yeah, you are awesome." Alicia rolled her eyes. "Do you think those people are the main problem? Have you forgotten that tomorrow is the combat class?"
She paused and sighed.
"I don’t know every one of them, but I have seen that bald head with Edrin a few times. I am sure that guy will take advantage of the situation tomorrow, and once you beat his lackey, he will challenge you in the name of seeking justice for his friend."
She looked at Liam seriously.
"Are you sure you can beat that guy?"
Liam fell silent at Alicia’s words.
If they had been at the same level, Liam would have immediately said that he wouldn’t lose to Edrin easily.
But the problem was that he was still at the Early Stage, while Edrin had long since reached the Middle Stage of the Star Warrior Realm.
Moreover, Liam had only recently started using the cultivation technique that William had given him and still needed some time before he could properly use it.
"I will handle it tomorrow..." Liam took a deep breath before finally speaking.
Alicia looked at his oiled-up face and hesitated for a moment.
"How about I talk to my brother? If he comes forward, it—"
"Don’t!" Before Alicia could finish speaking, Liam interrupted her in a terrified voice. "Don’t call him."
He remembered the cold gaze Alicia’s brother had given him when he stood together with Alicia during the negotiation regarding the mine and his scalp immediately tingled.
’Sis-con! That guy is definitely a sis-con!’ He shouted inwardly, swearing that he would never appear in front of Alicia’s brother together with Alicia.
Just as he was thinking about this, something hit him on the head.
"Hmmm?" Liam turned around and saw a half-eaten meat bun on the ground.
A frown appeared on his face, and he looked in the direction from which the bun had come.
There, he saw a bald student looking at him with a mocking smile.
"This bastard..." A look of anger flashed in Liam’s eyes, but he took a deep breath and didn’t say anything.
"Commoner, you need to fill your stomach if you want to give a good performance in tomorrow’s combat class. This Lord is compassionate, so I will give you something to eat." Zion, the bald student said with a grin.
"Hahaha! Zion, you are too generous. These commoners are used to eating dry vegetables. If you give them meat, they probably won’t even be able to digest it." A student sitting beside him spoke with a chuckle.
"Oh, my apologies!" Zion slapped his forehead upon hearing this and picked up a half-eaten apple.
"Here, Commoner. If you can’t digest meat, eat this apple."
As he spoke, he threw the apple, and it fell right in front of Liam.
The entire cafeteria had already fallen silent, and everyone was looking in their direction.
Liam’s fists clenched tightly and if it weren’t because fighting was forbidden outside of the arena, he would have already plunged his spear into Zion’s head.
Alicia also frowned when she saw this and was about to speak. But suddenly, someone placed a hand on Zion’s shoulder.
"I am also hungry. How about you give me something to eat as well?"
"Huh?" Zion was stunned when he heard someone talking to him and turned around.
But the instant he turned his head, his eyes widened as they met a pair of cold green eyes.
"You are—"
Before he could finish speaking, his bald head was grabbed by a palm.
Then, a tremendous force descended upon him.
BANG!
A loud booming sound echoed through the silent cafeteria as Zion’s face was directly smashed into a bowl of soup.
