Graham was basking in the praises of the surrounding students, feeling extremely smug inwardly.
"Look at those wings. They look so beautiful. I also want a pair for myself."
"Whenever I go to the Church of Light, I hear those priests praising Angels as if they were their grandfathers. I was always skeptical about it, but looking at him, it seems those priests weren’t wrong."
"Yeah, he doesn’t look much older than us, but he is already at the peak of the Star Warrior Realm."
"He is so handsome. Should I go and tell Edrin about him? Do you think he will reward me for informing him about such a handsome guy?"
Graham listened to the conversations of the surrounding students and couldn’t help but laugh inwardly, rolling in his heart because of their praises.
But outwardly, he maintained a calm and gentle expression while looking into the distance as if he were waiting for someone.
Of course, he was merely pretending and wasn’t actually waiting for anyone.
It was simply an act to show that he wasn’t standing there just to attract attention.
As he continued listening to the students talk, he noticed that many of them mentioned someone named Edrin, wondering whether that person would take a liking to him.
’Is this Edrin some cold academy beauty who has never paid attention to anyone?’ Graham thought inwardly.
’They must be thinking that with my handsome face, even a girl who has never paid attention to anyone will throw herself at me.’
Although Graham felt that the name Edrin sounded a little weird for a cold beauty, he didn’t mind it.
’I will look for this cold beauty later on. Once she throws herself into my arms, won’t I become famous throughout the academy?’
Graham thought about his glorious days ahead and was barely able to keep a straight face.
He looked around at the students surrounding him.
’I should leave now. What was that human saying? Oh, right... Rarity breeds demand. If I want to always attract attention, I can’t appear for too long.’
Just as he was planning to leave, Graham caught sight of a student wearing a black-colored academy uniform.
The person had green eyes, black hair, and a face that was no worse than his own.
Looking at him, Graham felt a sense of familiarity, as if he had seen that face somewhere before.
Just then, a long-lost memory suddenly surfaced in his mind, and his eyes widened.
"Master!" He shouted and immediately rushed toward him.
The students, who had been talking among themselves were baffled by his sudden shout and looked around.
"Master? Is he calling his master from the Hevanly Realm?"
"Probably. It’s clear that he was waiting for someone here, so it might be his master."
"Where is his master? Let me see, let me see! If he is also as handsome as him, I will inform Edrin about him as well."
Just as the students were looking around for Graham’s so-called Master, he rushed in a certain direction.
William, who had been planning to leave was also taken aback by Graham’s sudden shout and immediately looked around, wondering where this so-called Master had come from.
After all, as far as he remembered, Graham hadn’t had a master in the original timeline.
But soon, he noticed that the direction Graham was running seemed a little off.
’Is he... coming toward me?’
William thought with an uncertain expression as he looked around him, trying to see if there was any acquaintance of Graham standing nearby.
Soon, Graham reached him.
Then, amid William’s widened eyes, the show-off Angel slid onto his knees and hugged his leg.
"Master! Where have you been all this time? I missed you so much."
William’s mind went blank for a moment as he stared at the absurd scene before him with his eyes wide open.
Even the students who had been talking fell silent, as the image before them was a complete contrast to the one they had seen earlier.
Just a moment ago, Graham had been a handsome Angel who seemed to have descended from the heavens.
But now, he was crying like a brat while hugging the leg of another student.
The stark contrast between the two images made their minds crash for a moment.
The person who was most shocked was obviously William.
He looked at the leg pendant hugging his leg and felt that this scene was somewhat familiar.
Thinking about the leg pendant named Simon that he had left in the Black Hills, William’s mouth twitched slightly.
"Master, where have you been all this time? Didn’t you say that you would come to see me soon? But it’s already been years."
William looked around at the students and seeing the strange looks he was receiving, his face darkened.
He shook his leg and spoke coldly.
"Let go of me. Who is your Master?"
Graham was stunned and looked at him in disbelief.
"Master, have you forgotten your disciple?"
"Buddy, look at my face. I am even younger than you." William pulled his leg back and stepped away slightly.
"I think you have mistaken me for someone else."
Graham looked at William’s young face, and a look of hesitation finally appeared on his face.
"But your face... If you dyed your hair golden, grew multiple pairs of white wings, and increased your height a little..."
The image in Graham’s mind once again overlapped with the student standing before him.
"You... Are you sure you are not my Master?"
"Was your Master a Star Warrior like me?"
As he spoke, William released a portion of his aura with a helpless look on his face.
Graham was finally shocked and immediately stood up.
He recalled that grand scene from his memories, and remembering that awe-inspiring aura, he felt his face burn with embarrassment.
’Damn it, how could I mistake my mighty Master for such a weakling?’ He looked around at the students.
Seeing that their previous awe toward him had completely disappeared, Graham’s mouth twitched slightly.
Cough.
He coughed lightly, and his previous calm and serene expression once again returned to his face.
"My apologies. I mistook you for someone else. As a disciple, it is my natural duty to show extreme respect toward my Master, so I lost control over my emotions for a moment."
He spoke in an elegant voice before turning around to leave.
"I will take my leave now."
The wings on his back unfurled in a grand manner, and he silently flew into the air, looking completely different from his earlier crying display.
The students also immediately stopped thinking about what had just happened and looked at him as he slowly flew upward, feeling deep envy that he could fly even though he was just a Star Warrior.
William stared at Graham as he flew away and his eyes narrowed slightly.
’Who was this Master he was talking about? If I remember correctly, there was nothing like this in the original timeline...’
