RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System

Chapter 460 - 460: Unexpected Guest

The presentation of the charity organisation took place at the Los Angeles police station, at the city's headquarters.

Security would normally be a concern, but the station had a large open field at the back, and it was there that canopies, decorations, and seats were set up.

A grand stage was erected over the lawn, large banners with images hanging from tall poles and plastered on walls.

I noticed all of this from the comfort of my Rolls-Royce, cameras flashing as the car passed, making its way around, past the vans and vehicles parked outside, and into the station.

With me was Martha, and when the car came to a stop, the door was immediately opened with a male attendant at the helm.

"Sir," he bowed.

Where we had parked was hidden from the gazes of the public, with no cameras flashing in my face.

Seeing me step down from a Rolls-Royce, though, the few eyes around had already moved to me.

The men in uniform lingered only for a few seconds, but those in suits were particularly curious, and I could feel the intensity of their stares.

I had barely taken a step, wanting to turn to Martha on the other side, when my PA appeared, walking towards me as fast as she could on her heels.

"Thank God, I thought you'd be late," Nadia breathed out, turning and giving a nod to Martha, who had walked over to my side.

"Seems you've been quite busy."

"Yes, and it's been over 30 minutes since I called you, sir," she gritted out.

"From your earlier words, Sky isn't here yet." I raised a brow.

"No, he isn't, but the mayor and the governor are present."

"The governor?" I frowned. "No one informed me he was coming."

"No one knew, sir," Nadia sounded pained. "He just showed up."

Mulling over the new addition, I shrugged. "That's good for publicity."

Nadia was taken aback by my casualness, but it didn't take her long to figure out what I had just concluded.

"You're leaving things to Sky, " Nadia's eyes widened in horror.

"This is the governor we're talking about. It's an opportunity for you to socialize and form a connection," she whispered.

"Feel free to socialise. I'm not interested."

Nadia opened her mouth to speak, but was lost for words, her eyes searching mine in disbelief.

"When is Sky arriving?"

Shaking her head, Nadia racked her brain and quickly answered her boss, "I spoke to his secretary not too long ago; he should be here in about 7 minutes."

"Good. I'll wait for him here, then. Take Martha inside."

Nadia was conflicted, but she did as I said.

To my surprise, though, just before Martha left with her, she walked up to me and laid a kiss on my lips, her eyes looking into mine before her fingers left my face.

Glancing at the woman departing, her juicy ass in a tight black skirt grabbing my eyes, I looked around hoping no tasty target had seen our interaction.

"Damn woman," I muttered, a smile cracking at the edge of my lips.

Moving to the side, I watched as other vehicles drove into the precinct, individuals with noble airs stepping out of luxurious vehicles.

Hands in my pockets, none of the new arrivals paid me any mind. In fact, there was even a situation.

"You there, could you help me with this?"

As one of the cars stopped, a middle-aged man stepped out of a black Mercedes. But as he climbed up the stairs, he looked at the cigar in his hand and turned to me.

"No problem, sir."

I moved forward to take the inconvenience off him, but before that could happen, a young man in a suit quickly stepped forward, collecting the cigar and apologizing to us both repeatedly.

It didn't take the middle-aged man long to understand the situation.

As the attendant walked off, rather than resume his journey into the building, the man walked over beside me.

"I apologize again for the earlier misunderstanding."

"Like I said, it's no problem." I waved my hand.

Nodding, rather than finally departing, the stranger turned and joined me in staring at the driveway, his hands going into his pockets.

"I could do with a cigar right now. You got one on you?"

Glancing to my side, I looked to where the attendant had disappeared with the cigar before throwing my eyes back to the middle-aged man.

My silence had the man burst into light laughter, and shaking his head, he answered,

"My plan was to immediately head in; I didn't think I would be meeting such an interesting individual out here."

"Hmm." I brought my hand to my chin.

"Would help if I knew your name."

"Jamie Dimon."

The answer came quickly, and grabbing hold of his outstretched hand, I gave my name.

"Marcus Lawson."

"Oh, one of the founders of the Organization! I thought you looked familiar," Jamie let out another chuckle.

"To think an accomplished young man like you can be so humble."

While the man spoke, I let out a small smile, racking my brain, because just as he had mentioned my face being familiar, I found his name to be familiar as well.

"There's not much to it. Rendering help isn't limited by status."

"True, true, but you must know such thinking is rare."

Not wanting to say much, I nodded along with the man, glancing to the side occasionally and scrutinizing him from head to toe, trying to identify why his name was so familiar.

After a few seconds of silence, the man broke it.

"But honestly, I could do with a cigar right now. Please tell me you got one."

Shaking my head, I reached inside my suit, pulling out one of the Cohibas I had stocked.

"How did you know?"

"The way you held my cigar. Impossible not to recognize a fellow smoker."

Chuckling along with Jamie as I provided a lighter for the old man, the atmosphere between us settled.

"So young, yet so prideful," the old man said as he took a thick puff.

I turned to him, unsure of who he was referring to, and he gave me a knowing smirk.

"You're outside here because you don't want to suck up to the governor, right?"

Jamie didn't hush his words; he spoke them confidently, and immediately, my eyes searched around, hoping no one had heard him.

"Not bad, boy."

Unbothered by the consequences of his words, Jamie took another drag of the cigar, a look of relief claiming his face as he breathed out.

Who the hell is this man? I wondered as I confirmed the coast was clear.
