Rebirth: Beasts Bound

"I licked the blood that trickled from the corner of my lips.

"You used your status to bully me and Elowen. Did you think I would actually lie low and let you be?" h snapped, and I chuckled.

"It’s funny how villains tend to actually put the blame on someone else!" I said, and he gritted his teeth, raising his hand to slap me again, but Rosy cut through his actions.

"She’s enjoying your hits. Those won’t do. Bring out the torture tools!" she said.

Darian stood up but clicked his tongue. He turned to her and walked over. The second he reached her, he yanked her hair backward, forcing her to stare at him.

"I took you out of that hellhole. You better not boss me around!" he snapped.

Rosy trembled. The killing intent in his eyes wasn’t hidden. He shoved her away, and she scrambled to go get the tools.

"Well, they really do suit each other!" I thought.

Besides, I would easily get out of here.

I worked my hands, trying to release the magic within me, but nothing came. I tried a third time...nothing.

Finally, Darian, who seemed to be watching the show, laughed.

"Raven, no one can save you! You are in my very own space! In here, no one can hear you. Not your beast-men, not your friends, no one. Even your powers, you can’t use them here!" he snapped, and I bit down on my bottom lip.

"Shit, he was bluffing, right? System!" I called out inwardly, yet nothing appeared.

"Cat!" I called out again, no response.

"What? Are you trying to call for help?" he mocked and burst into laughter.

It was at this moment I realized I had actually taken this situation lightly.

What did he actually do? To stop communication, even the system was affected.

I’m doomed.

Rosy came back, pushing a metal stroller. On top was a flat platform covered with various torture tools: a scalpel, combat knife, crowbar, broken bottles, hammer, baseball bat, crossbow, wire, whip, chemicals, lighter, brick...

I swallowed hard.

"What are you doing, Darian? If this gets out, you’re as good as dead!" I snapped, trying to knock some sense into him, but he only chuckled.

"By then, you would already be gone! No witness, nothing!" he said, and my heartbeat froze for the first time in panic.

Why did this have to happen now? My babies...

I turned to Rosy. "What about her? She’s a witness. You’ll be done for if she spills!" I snapped, but it was like Darian wasn’t listening.

He picked up a crossbow and aimed the arrow directly at my head.

I froze, staring at him in utter shock and silence. If he pulled that trigger, everything would end here.

No. I couldn’t die, I didn’t want to go back.

"Why are you doing this?" I snapped.

Darian lowered the crossbow. "You walked all over me and Elowen. I kissed your boots so much, I hated it. I hated you... why change? I could control you easily before until you drank just a little poison, you died, I was sure, then you woke up like a wrench thrown onto everything. So I have to end you!" he snapped, and my blood boiled.

He deserved it. If I had to do it again and again, I would.

"You dare glare at me with those eyes?" he chuckled.

Rosy walked toward him, her smug smile returning to her delicate face.

"You put me in the dungeon the first day Rosette..." Rosy said softly, and another laugh escaped my lips.

"Who the f*ck is Rosette?" I snapped, watching as her eyes shifted with something that flashed for only a second.

Before she could open her mouth, Darian stepped closer with a nail cutter in his hands.

"What are you going to do?" I asked.

He never answered, only gave off an eerie smile, and my blood boiled, before I could protest, his hands rested on my foot.

"Such fine fingers. It’s such a pity. You’re going to make some sacrifices today!" he said, and I gritted my teeth.

He held my foot. His icy cold hands made me shiver, but I jerked my leg backward. He sneered angrily and grabbed it again, gripping so hard I almost felt my foot snap.

"Does my touch disgust you that much? Raven, you used to crawl on the ground for me, please me, even go to the extent of going naked right in front of me. I’ve seen everything. Nothing is special about you..." he spat.

I redirected my strength and kicked him straight in the face. He staggered backward and held onto his nose, as thick blood dripped down, and his eyes turned cold.

He stared at his bloody hand, and the cutter in his hand vibrated.

I knew I had angered him, but he started it first. I do admit the original villainess was so stupid to the extent that she would sneak into his room and lie naked on his bed, trying to give herself to him over and over again, yet he rejected her every single time, but he did eventually taste her.It was only a kiss and he wanted more, but It was only then Raven had become smart enough to refuse him. Now he thought he was some kind of god because a royal like her had bowed to him so many times.

I wouldn’t.

"I admit I was a fool in the past, but not anymore. I don’t want a cursed beast-man, a breed of three different things! Even your mother left you behind once she saw the monster she gave birth to!" I yelled.

He laughed, clenched his fists, and purple mist swirled around him.

"I’ll show you who is useless!" he said and stretched his hand toward me.

The mist moved and enveloped me, It sank into my chest, and a heavy sensation hit me. My breathing ceased for a second, but then Rosy stepped forward. "You bastard, you want to give her an easy death! I decline!" she yelled.

Darian laughed. "You dare go against me?" he roared, yet the frightened look she should have shown never appeared. "Don’t let her die now!" Rosy snapped and snatched the cutter from his hand.

She stepped closer. "Sister, you have no idea how much I want you to suffer!"

With that, the mist moved out of my chest, but Rosy...She placed my toenail into the cutter.

"Stop! Wai—" I cried out weakly, yet no reply came, she pulled fiercely. My eyes widened, and I stared at the ceiling.

She wasn’t going to trim my nail, she wanted to tear the entire nail off my foot.

"Fvcking bitch!""
