"I failed to protect my kids?" I thought, and my eyes opened slowly. I could feel everyone’s gaze on me. Liora was biting her fingers worriedly, and Bibi had that dark look in her eyes.
Doctor Elandra standing by the side, all eyes on me, and my beast-men surrounded me.
"What happened? Are they okay?" Azrael asked, and Doctor Elandra shook her head.
"She lost the cubs!" she said, making everyone fell totally silent.
I stared in total disbelief. My lips parted to say something, but nothing came out. I could only remember the hot blood. My eyes welled up with tears, and I placed my palms over my face, letting them fall.
My cries filled the room, and Elandra stood there, not saying a word. She moved closer, placed her hand on my tummy, and a white glowing mist moved onto my body.
"She will be okay. I took care of the miscarriage. She just needs some supplements now," she said to everyone before turning to me.
"I’m sorry for your loss!" she said, but I was still crying, hiding my swollen red eye and my nose hurt too.
Doctor Elandra left the room, but before that, she turned back at me and sighed. "So pitiful. She just found out today!" she said softly under her breath and walked out.
No one dared say a word, especially because surely I would react and actually lash out.
"I’m sorry, Mum failed to protect you!" I said softly.
Everyone heard, and only their pitiful gazes could I feel. It irritated me.
A side of me hated them and the system for ditching me there, even though I knew it wasn’t their fault. They should have found me earlier! I thought and sniffed.
"Rave—"
"Stop!" I said coldly, shutting Bibi off before she could even land her words.
I removed my hands from my eyes, staring at everyone in the room, "Thank you for showing up..." I trailed off, but then my eyes turned cold. "Now you all should get out!" I said softly, yet it felt like I had hit a nerve.
"Raven, let us stay with you!" Veyra added, but I stared at him with bored, lazy eyes and scoffed.
"Huh? You want to be my knight in shining armor now?" I asked, gritting my teeth. He froze upon seeing my eyes. He reached for my hand, but I calmly shoved his away.
"I need rest. Get out!" I said and turned to shut my eyes.
I turned to the side and pulled the duvet upward, covering my aching body.
"I’m so sorry!" I thought, crying softly, they stared at me for a second, and Liora’s lips parted.
"You can always make more cubs in the future. Cubs go and come!" she said, but it only irritated a part of me.
"I wanted to keep the cubs. Don’t you understand?" I snapped, but then took a deep breath.
"We should go out, guys," Liora said in fright and dragged my beast-men away.
Outside, the moment the door closed, I sighed in relief, finally, peace and quiet...but then...
"Raven, I’m really sorry. I couldn’t get in," Cat said, and my eyes snapped open.
The anger and irritation were visible in my eyes. "Aren’t you the system? Almighty! How dare you not have access to situations like that? Stop lying and just admit you made me lose my cubs!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Orange just stood there, staring as if she had never seen someone grieve to that extent, "I’m sorry?" she said softly.
I paused, stared at her and looked up at the sky, trying hard to stop the tears from falling from my eyes, I didn’t realize when she stepped forward and gently rested her paws in my hands.
"It’s going to get better, Raven. Trust me!" she said, and it made my eyes sting.
"Look at my eye....I can’t even see properly. How will it be alright?" I screamed and bit down on my bottom lip.
"My life... it’s already beyond ruined. As Rosette and as Raven!" I said and gently removed her paws from my hands.
"You should leave too!" I said and laid back on the bed, closing my eyes shut. I didn’t think I would ever be free from the darkness in my heart.
I moved my hand and gently rested it on my tummy. "Now you’re in a better place. No need to grow up and suffer worse," I said bitterly, but still kept a smile on my face.
Orange didn’t move that night. She stood there and eventually laid down, resting her head on the duvet.
I raised my head and glared at Orange, her blue eyes bored deeply into mine, making me grunt in disapproval.
"Sure, stay!" I snapped and laid my head back on the pillow, closing my stiff, tired eyes.
"Beautiful, beautiful..."I sang softly, yet sleep vanished. My eyes stared straight out the balcony glass door. A smile crept into my lip, especially when I spotted three distinct butterflies flying in. Their colorful wings fluttered beautifully, and a smile curved on my lips, I gently stretched out my hand, and all three rested on it, making a giggle escape from my lip.
Why did I feel like my cubs had come back as butterflies to actually say their last goodbye? "Beautiful!" admiring their colorful wings.
Orange just stared with sleepy eyes and yawned softly, she turned to stare back at me, and I flashed a small smile, It wasn’t fully happy, but at least it existed.
Her eyes widened softly, and I raised a brow.
What’s happening? I thought, rhen I shifted my gaze toward the mirror. My black eyes had disappeared, my eyes were back to normal.
What? I stood up and dragged down the dress from my shoulder, searching for marks.
How? I thought and immediately removed the whole gown, staring at myself in the mirror, every mark had disappeared.
Wasn’t my body aching earlier? What was happening?
I turned to Orange, and she smirked, she stared at my belly, and a grin curved on her lips.
"Raven, looks like a quadruple blessing!" she said.
I raised a brow, "What do you mean?" And placed my hand on my belly and gasped.
"Am I still pregnant?" I asked anxiously, she shook her head, and my excitement died, but then she chuckled.
"Cheat skill unlocked. You really did pull it off, Raven. You have no idea what power you just unleashed!" she praised.
