"I didn’t," she said, but I just stared blankly at her, then at her heart. Her dark magic flame was wilder and more active than I thought.

I gently removed the tip of my sword, but then Azrael drew her backwards, her collar landing straight in his hand.

"I will kill the baby if you don’t fucking spill," he said, and Elowen gritted her teeth.

"How dare you let Flith touch me, Raven?" she yelled, but froze as the tip of my sword rested on her neck. It pressed in until a thin trace of blood softly seeped out. She shut her lips and flashed a warm smile at me.

"I didn’t tell Darian to hurt Raven. I was searching for him because he was missing. I didn’t know," she screamed, trying to prove her innocence. It only made my eyes darken.

"Lies detector panel rewarded." Cat’s voice echoed in my head. In that instant, a panel showed above Elowen’s head. The number kept increasing until it landed at 100%.

[She’s not lying]

Seeing the answer, I stared at her, puzzled. This was the first time she actually hadn’t influenced Darian. My lips parted to speak, but—

"Save me. I’m your beastman. You can’t let me die. My cub is in your belly," Darian snapped. Elowen’s eyes darkened, but she kept a cool smile on her lips.

"Please let him go. I need him to be alive. He’s the father of my cub," she said softly, pinching her wrist so fake tears could drip out. She sounded so convincing that even I would have been swayed, but..

[90% Honest]

I stared at the panel and couldn’t help but twitch my lips. Of course. Darian was just a useful pawn to her.

Just then, Rosy woke up. Her eyes fixed on me and Elowen. In that second, her lips parted.

"She’s not Ra—"

Veyra’s hand landed on her lips. She bit hard, but he didn’t let go. I saw the venomous look in her eyes. When Elowen wasn’t here, she begged. Now that she was conscious, she was doing something else. It made me laugh bitterly.

"Elowen, do you hate me?" I asked. Her eyes dilated for a moment. "No," she said lowly, trying to act as pitiful as ever.

[50% Honest]

Seeing the way her honesty had dropped to that level, I couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

"Have you met with Rosy in the dungeon? With no one knowing?" I asked. She froze for a second and looked away.

"Why all the questions? I can’t be kept captive here for nothing I did," she yelled, and—

[40% Honest]

My eyes darkened, and I raised my sword at her. "I can kill you here and no one would know, Elowen. Don’t test my patience," I said coldly, and she gritted her teeth.

"I never met with her. Happy?" she yelled.

[30% Honest]

I gently sat back down and Thyrian walked towards me, and as if noticing I was stressed, he gently massaged my shoulders. I held his hand and squeezed softly before turning to her.

"Why do you all still serve her? She should be dead. She punished you. She made you nothing but dogs. How can you still treat her like a goddess?" Elowen spat. That made my face darken, but I waited, staring at everyone’s faces. They twisted with disgust, as if hurt by past actions, but then... Ryker’s lips parted. "We aren’t monsters, and Raven certainly isn’t anymore," he said, making Elowen turn to glare at me.

"It should be me there. Raven, you were supposed to be dead. You should have never survived... to this extent." Her darkened voice echoed, and everyone froze. Elowen suddenly disappeared into a cloudy dark mist, and I stood up in panic.

"Did you really think... I didn’t know who you are?" Her voice changed to that of a male...cold and arrogant.

"You little time traveler, have no business in my world. Everything is mine. How dare you take it?" The voice screamed.

The mist blew, throwe me off balance until my back crashed against a wall.

"Raven!" my beastmen ran towards me, but in that second they also disappeared. I stared in worry. What was wrong? The wind blew and my hair whipped around my face, but then I heard soft footsteps and my parents came into view. Huh? I stared down and found myself standing in a puddle of water... I looked like my real self. My chubby cheeks, wide eyes... I was Rosette...

"Oh my baby, are you hurt?" she said and ran forward, did my parents finally notice me? I felt my tears slip out, and I stretched my hands, waiting for a hug, but she ran past me and hugged Rosy, who was crying from the fall.

I stiffened... She didn’t hug me?

"Who hurt you?" she asked, and Rosy pointed straight at me, making my eyes well up in painful tears... My dad glared at me and walked towards me. Before I could say a word—

POW...

That scene faded, and now I was back in Raven’s body. My cheek red from the slap, hot tears streaming out of my eyes.

"Why?" I heard myself say, and then....

BUMP

BUMP

Shoulders kept slamming into me until I landed on the floor. I hit my knee and a hiss escaped my lips. I stared at my hands, covered in mud, and the reflection in the water made my eyes widen in shock.

"We don’t need you anymore," Azrael’s cold voice came. He stared down at me like my parents had and held onto Elowen’s waist...

"No, no," I said, shaking my head and added a slap to my own face. "Wake up!" I screamed to myself, and a mocking laughter escaped from Veyra’s lips.

"She doesn’t want to accept her loss," he told Elowen. "How did we ever fall for someone like her?" He held her chin so softly I trembled at his touch. "You are the most beautiful," he praised, and Elowen giggled.

"Stop this," I screamed at the top of my lungs, and they snapped their heads toward me. Elowen raised a brow and rolled her eyes softly. "Sister, they are rightfully mine to begin with. You just stole them for a second," she said, and I chuckled bitterly.

"How dare you take everything from me?" I screamed, and she chuckled, laughing so hard it made my heart bitter.

"You took my parents’ love, my life, everything," I screamed in pain and burst into hot, streaming tears. Elowen’s eyes darkened. She stepped closer and held my hair, yanking so hard my scalp ached.

"You are so beneath me. Even now, in detail. You can never beat me. I’m the female lead," she whispered into my ear, and my eyes widened.

"You know?" I asked, but she yanked harder "Why wouldn’t i know? Such a pest like you actually came from a useless body....and dare think she could win?"

She spat straight to my face, making me shut my eyes, i felt the saliva slip downwards to my lips, I wiped it off.

And Thryian stepped forward.

"Don’t touch filth. I will do the honors for you," he said. With that, his fist met my face. I closed my eyes as my body moved backwards and collided with a wall. A mouthful of blood sprayed out from my mouth. Before I could recover, orange mist swirled around my neck, lifting me up from the ground, tightening around my throat. I tried hard, clawing at my own neck to take it off, yet nothing. I could only feel my lungs dying, needing air. My eyes dilated, and my face turned purple.

"Wait," I said, begging, yet he only tightened it.

"Love you? Do you think we can ever love you? You are so unlovable your parents never mourned at your death," he cursed, and tears escaped from my eyes.

"Please stop," I begged....not from the pain, but from his words.

"So unlovable your parents accepted and let your twin take your place with Danny. So unlovable they knew of the affair but never said a thing to you. So unlovable they wished you were never born... so unlovable even your beastmen hated and used you... Rosette, you can never be anything," he said. The tears fell and streamed down my hands. I had been fighting for my life earlier, but I didn’t anymore.

"I’m so unlovable... I really want to die," I muttered, and my eyes closed. The air never came, and i thought i died, but my eyes snapped open—my body was slumping... I landed straight on a bed. Huh? I was back in my room in the modern world? Everything looked the same... but why didn’t I die?

Before I could stand up, Elowen appeared on top of me, and her hands rested on my neck. "Since you don’t want to live ... then just die. Give everything back to me... You stole them," she screamed, and her hands tightened around my throat.

I choked.
