Rebirth: Beasts Bound

Chapter 109: S-RANK LEVEL UP [2]

I woke up finally, my lashes fluttering as I gazed at the ceiling.

Everything sounded so loud and clear around me. I could hear every little detail like the soft breathing of my beast-men nearby and the gentle wind brushing against the windows far away.

My eyes saw beyond what they used to, picking up tiny shifts in light and shadow that made the room glow with hidden beauty.

The cushion under me felt so soft, like sinking into a warm cloud made of the finest feathers and silk that hugged my body perfectly.

The power had fully awakened inside me now. It flowed through my veins like a strong river of energy, and I knew without doubt that I had ranked up.

[congrats Host, you have leveled up to S-rank] The system said and my eyes opened fully, my loyal beast-men rushed to my side with so much care and love that it filled my heart right away.

This new strength made me feel powerful, yet it also carried a heavy sense of what was coming next..."My days of wanting to slack are over!" I complained in my heart.

[he power sings so strongly within you now. I felt it calling to all of us. We will not let you carry this alone.] I heard a distant voice say in my head.

"Huh?"

[We sensed the huge change in you. You are S rank now, a true beacon. Rest if you need, but know we stand with you always..]

What was happening, I thought staring around. Why was a mechanical voice suddenly ringing off in my ear?

[...we watched over you during the surge, making sure nothing disturbed you. Our loyalty flows endlessly for you.]

What! My lips parted to ask the others if they heard the same thing but,

Ryker, stepped forward with his russet ears perked up in excitement and his bushy tail waving happily behind him. He knelt close and took my hand gently in his warm ones.

"Raven, I’m glad you are back, do you feel hurt?" he said softly, his voice full of devotion as he pressed a tender kiss to my fingers. The faint scent of pine forests and fresh herbs clung to him, making me feel safe and grounded.

Right after him, Veyra moved in with his charming grace. His crimson eyes sparkled with affection and a touch of worry as he leaned over me. One of his elegant hands brushed lightly along my arm in a soothing caress.

"You are really strong. We were scared, you died" he purred in that rich velvety tone. His presence brought the sweet smell of night jasmine and warm embers that wrapped around me like a comforting embrace.

"Im real okay" I replied, but Azrael walked to my side with his strong and steady steps, his palm rested on my forehead. "You are stronger," he rumbled in his deep voice that felt like steady thunder.

"You are S rank now, a true beacon. Rest if you need too." His dark eyes showed deep protection and the faint smoky scent around him felt reassuring.

Thyrian came last but with equal warmth. His iridescent scales caught the light beautifully as he leaned in and brushed a stray hair from my forehead with his cool webbed fingers.

"Master, this transformation looks perfect on you" he murmured with a gentle smile. "We watched over you, making sure nothing disturbed you. How do you feel though?" The crisp salty smell of ocean breezes came with him, refreshing and calm.

Their words and gentle touches made me feel so supported in the middle of all this change. I smiled at each of them,

Yet deep inside, a quiet hint of something darker stirred. There was a final villain waiting somewhere in the future of this story. If only I had gotten to read that ending part, I would know my fate, but right now I don’t! It felt like whoever it was already reached toward us, but I pushed the thought back for now.

I sat up slowly, feeling the new power steady in my body. "Thank you all so much," I said "Your support means the world to me right now." With soft nods from them, I got up from the bed.

"Let’s stroll out, it’s tiring here!" Liora and Bibi joined me as we walked through the corridors toward Elowen’s room. The air carried smells of polished stone and light incense from the academy halls.

When we entered Elowen’s room, it took my breath away for a moment. It was so flowery and beautiful, just right for a female lead.

Cascading vines of bright roses and lilies climbed the walls in soft arches, filling the space with a sweet perfume like a sunlit meadow after rain. Gossamer curtains in pretty lavender and cream colors swayed gently by the window, showing views of the green gardens outside. Intricate tapestries with golden threads hung everywhere, and the large bed with its embroidered silks looked like a nest of morning dew on petals. Elowen lay there tired and truly sleeping at first, her chest moving slowly in exhaustion.

I walked closer and touched her shoulder lightly to wake her. "Elowen," I said quietly. "I need to ask you about that male voice you heard right before you went berserk. What was it? Who spoke to you?"

Her eyes opened suddenly, full of anger instead of answers She sat up fast, clutching the covers. "You dare come here and ask me that, Raven?" she snapped, her voice shaking. "It is all because of you that I lost my child. Your interference ruined everything for me." Tears filled her eyes as she glared, her expression twisted with blame.

The words hurt deeply,, and the emotions inside me rose up. I looked straight at her without backing down. "Enough Elowen. Shut your mouth before you say more things that helps no one," I replied firmly, my tone carrying all the anger I also felt "Your own stupidity and reckless choices are what ruined it all, not mine. You rushed into danger without thinking and now you want to blame me? I will not take that. We all have losses but hiding behind accusations only makes it worse."

Liora stepped forward "Elowen, please be careful with your words and actions," she said softly, her voice like a soothing balm. "Raven has been through so much too. We need understanding here, not more hurt."

Bibi stood with her arms crossed, her cold voice rang out. "Watch what you say," she added bluntly. "Throwing blame around like that will not fix anything. You started all this, two-faced bitch!"

The beautiful flowery room felt heavy with silence after that. The sweet smells of roses and lilies almost seemed too much against the bitter words. Elowen turned away and said nothing more, burying her face in the pillows.

"Get out!" She screamed, my lips parted but she first me to it "you wouldn’t hear a thing from me, even if you lock me up!" Bibi gritted her teeth and stepped forward but I held her wrist, we exchanged looks, and Bibi sucked her bottom lips "I really wanted to mess her up" she slammed the door shut.

Once outside in the hallway, I let out a deep breath. "Guys let her, since she wants to hide him, she should!" I told Liora and Bibi.

As we stepped out into the open area near the arena, the students there all turned to look at me. Their eyes were wide with awe and respect, like they were seeing a goddess walking among them. They knew I had ranked up to S rank.

Whispers spread quickly through the group. The air smelled of sweat from training and the earthy arena sands, mixing around us.

Before I could say much, the cat beast-men approached quickly, he seemed worried "Lady Raven, Professor Caelum requests you meet him in the lab right away," he said respectfully. "It is about your new status and some important artifacts from recent events."

I nodded, My beast-men stayed close being all protective.Ryker’s tail moved with readiness, Veyra gave me an encouraging look, Azrael just stared blankly and Thyrian watched with steady calm, but why do I feel unsettled!

I made my way to the laboratory, As I pushed open the heavy doors, the scene before me sent a chill racing down my spine.

Something was terribly wrong here.

Shattered glass and spilled magical chemicals spread across the stone floors in glowing pools of colors; deep emerald swirls mixing with violent crimson mists that hissed and sparked with uncontrolled energy.

The air hung thick with a horrific yet strangely enchanting smell, like burning herbs blended with sweet decay and ozone from raw magic gone wild.

Broken artifacts lay scattered everywhere, their ancient runes cracked and leaking faint trails of light that danced like dying fireflies across the chaos.

Professor Caelum stood amid the wreckage, his robes unkept and his face etched with deep exhaustion. Sweat glistened on his brow, but when his tired eyes met mine, a clear spark of relief and happiness brightened his expression.

"Raven, thank the stars you came," he said in a weary voice filled with genuine warmth, stepping carefully over a bubbling puddle of enchanted liquid.

"There’s trouble?"
